Our stay at Campanile El Mechtel Tunis was made truly enjoyable by the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. From the start, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, assisting with everything from restaurant bookings to taxi arrangements and local activity planning. Their warm and professional approach made a big difference and added a personal touch to our visit. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, providing good value for the price. Additionally, the hotel’s proximity to the Medina and city center made it convenient to explore the historical heart of Tunis.

While the hotel’s location is practical for getting to the center, the immediate surroundings are not particularly attractive or lively. The area could feel a bit lacking in atmosphere compared to other parts of the city.

I stayed at Campanile El Mechtel Hotel for two nights, and overall, it was an okay choice for a short stay in downtown Tunis. The hotel has a central location, which is convenient for exploring the city. The service was acceptable—nothing exceptional, but the staff were polite and handled basic requests efficiently, which is what I’d expect from a mid-range downtown hotel. On the positive side, the room was very spacious. The quality-to-price ratio was fair—you get what you pay for, but don’t expect luxury. Overall, if you need a budget-friendly, no-frills hotel in a central location, Campanile El Mechtel does the job. However, improvements in maintenance and cleanliness would make a big difference.

the cleanliness was medium, and the design and finishing felt quite average and dated. I also experienced some plumbing issues in the bathroom that should be improved for a better guest experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The receptionists were very attentive, especially the girl who works the night shift; she is extremely kind. We loved the hotel's amenities, including the pool, spa, gym, and laundry service. Additionally, the location close to the Medina and Old Town was a great bonus.

The cleanliness of the room was disappointing. The bed was poorly made and lacked fitted sheets. Additionally, the room was not properly cleaned. The shower had grime, and it should be cleaned more thoroughly. The breakfast, although it offered many options, felt like there was an abundance of everything but without any coherence, and the quality was low.

The room was amazing, comfortable bed, GREAT wifi, friendly and very helpful staff —> gave us an upgrade and were very gentle with the late checkout once our flight got canceled. Pool also great!

If you want to be a 10 minute distance from the medina, this is not place. Nevertheless, we found good restaurants and coffee options in the hotel neighborhood.

The photos of this hotel totally matched the reality. Beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. Complimentary coffee and tea was a very nice gesture. The hotel is quite close to the city center, even though the district does not seem very safe we felt quite safe. If you are a light sleeper, I would advice to bring earplugs - it faces quite a busy street which is noisy even during the night.

The staff was not very responsive to our requests. We had to wait several hours for something which was agreed with the hotel very much in advance. Cleaning staff took the dirty towels away but forgot to leave the new ones (not a big deal though, we went to the reception and asked for them). The AC did not below 26 degrees which is was way too hot, especially for sleeping.

Great room, great Tunisian breakfast, but best of all were the staff, especially the reception staff. They were super helpful, informative, friendly and kind. They made my stay memorable. Merci.

French Management policies: small annoyances, like no milk or whitener for tea and coffee; a free bottle of water only on the first day (the local water must be avoided), and the practice of removing used towels at 9am but only replacing them around 5pm. So no showers during the day. Weird. These are not the indicators of a luxury hotel.

Pretty clean and very kind employees,the room was big enough and near to and chaotic area… Pool was small but ok,especially the employee was really helpful und smiley all the time . Tunis was a nice experience and thanks to all the citizens who helped me a lot 😊

The price could be a bit better,no breakfast and dinner for over 55€ per night/per person(Hammamet 4-stars was 45€ with both)…in front of the hotel are some scammers,but that’s normal ..

We stayed 3 nights in 2 connected rooms. In fact we enjoyed our stay very much and would be happy to come back again. The hotel is nice, clean, well organized. There's a WiFi (although not very reliable). Our beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and large. The view was into the street and parking lot, but there was no noise from outside. There's a free water and tea/coffee in the room. The location is not bad, easy walking from the center. The neighboring streets are not necessarily very nice, but all city is like this. We did not take the breakfast, there's a very nice and cheap sweet shop and cafeteria just across the street to have some local experience. There are some reviews which indicate that the bed sheets are not changed between the guests, so we carefully checked this upon arrival and they might indeed be true. Not sure why, as the towels for example get changed every day.... There's a nice ZOO nearby that is open, the botanical garden next to the hotel looks permanently closed (even for transit walk to the ZOO).
