The view is great. Rooms are well equipped. Beds are comfortable.

The location offers a great view, but access by taxi, car, or Bolt is difficult. Most drivers drop passengers off at the souk (marketplace) in Sidi Bou Said, which is very inconvenient if you have luggage. If you book a taxi through the hotel, be cautious, there seems to be only one driver they use, and the prices can be much higher than usual. I was quoted 140 TND for a ride that normally costs 40 TND, with excuses like “it’s a special service” or “it’s nighttime,” “you are tourist”, “30 euro is nothing for you” even though both fares were at the same night tariff and for the same ride without traffic with 20 years old cars. It’s best to use a taxi app, but then you’ll have to walk on uneven cobblestone streets, which make rolling luggage nearly impossible.

Breakfast - poor choice and everything was extra paid

My recent stay at La Villa Bleue in Sidi Bou Said was a delightful experience that beautifully captured the essence of Sidi BouSaid charm. The hotel’s location is unparalleled, offering panoramic views of the Mediterranean that are nothing short of breathtaking. The room’s traditional decor, with its whitewashed walls and blue accents, immersed me in the local culture, creating an authentic ambiance. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the staff’s attentiveness and professionalism enhanced the overall comfort of my stay.

The room lacked adequate noise insulation and double-glazed windows, making it susceptible to external sounds that occasionally disrupted the tranquility. Additionally, I noticed some rust on the ironwork of the veranda, which slightly detracted from the otherwise pristine environment.

My room faced the street and was incredibly noisy all night with people walking by and having loud conversations. Tunisians are loud everywhere! It’s lacking in attention to little details like placing a napkin under your $12 cocktail or an extra plate for their meager breakfast (for the one hard boiled egg shell and a plate to spread the butter)… I’m spoiled because every other hotel in Tunisia has served grand breakfast buffets and here it was a simple continental breakfast with one cup of coffee. A heated pool would be nice too.

Breakfast selection was varied and well presented

The suite required improved sound proofing, noise from the crowds gathering outside in the evenings and chairs being moved across the floor of the restaurant. The outdoor areas were tired and could do with some TLC. The area is surrounded by trees which naturally drop their leaves with the wind, outside areas could be swept and hosed daily.

Breakfast was really nice and the setting is just so beautiful with the fabulous sea view. The villa is extremely charming and we loved our suite with its balcony and sea view. My only regret is that we didn’t have time to stay longer than 2 nights! Also, I didn’t have time to try the spa, as it closes at 5 PM and we were very busy.

We liked everything. The only slightly negative thing we found was that the restaurant, where we dined one evening, was quite a bit more expensive than a comparable one nearby.

The location was stunning ,we had the bellevue Room and it has an amazing view of the heal and the Mediterranean Sea . Food tasted fresh and amazing , staff and service was prompt and professional ,overall experience is Stunning

Constructive critics : -Parking was a bit of struggle if you are coming with a car. -Took us time to find the number of the reception which needs to be clearly visible .

Gorgeous,charming small boutique hotel in historical building. Quiet. Many rooms have water views.Comfortable bed,large bathrooms,good wifi. Very gracious staff-consistently -over the 5 days I spent here. Several taxi drivers told me it was the best hotel in town. Front office staff speak English. Restaurant staff were delightful.

The location and the style of the hotel is great. The view is fabulous.

The quality of the towels and bath robe were not up to a five star hotel standard. It looked consumed and torn at the edges. The cabinet needed maintenance and seemed a bit old. No coffee machine at the room and no snacks. In fact, the fridge was empty. They lack the welcoming spirit of a 5 star hotel and should pay more attention to details.

The view from the hotel and surrounding neighborhood was beyond amazing. It's like every idyllic photo of the Mediterranean you have ever wanted to walk into and stay forever. Lots of places in the hotel and in the neighborhood just to sit and contemplate. We only ate one dinner at the hotel, but it was superb. Great coffee in the morning. Staff are very helpful--one of the maintenance men even repaired the broken wheel on my husband's suitcase. If you walk down the hill, you can easily get to the commuter train, which will get you to the Carthage ruins in about 20 minutes.

The hotel airport shuttle as mentioned on Booking.com exists but is way overpriced at 50 euros for two people. Taxis are easily obtained for a third of that. Dinners are somewhat more expensive than comparable meals in the surrounding neighborhood, but definitely worth trying. Breakfast was continental, some pastries a little stale.
