the location is excellent, very kind professional team, very kind.

Very comfortable bed with a duvet. Beautiful room and common areas. Staff are super friendly. We really liked the hotel.

Water that comes out of the shower is brown, and shower is also luke warm and even the warm water runs out quickly. The bottled water they give you to drink also tastes bad, and some of the food at breakfast tasted like cigarettes so strongly that I had to spit it out - I don't know if they are smoking in the kitchen.

The hospitality and the kindness of the staff was superb, and the breakfast was amazing, including fresh fruit and something different prepared on the spot every day, truly exceptional staff. They were ready to advice us places to visit and restaurants, to book us taxis and additional services. Moreover the structure is beautiful, comprehending a beautiful courtyard and rooftop terrace, many leisure spaces and sofas.

The only thing that could be better are the power outlets, far from the bed, and the lights over the bed, that remain a little bright even when turned off. The room I booked was different than the one I actually got but they were the same price and dimensions more or less.

The breakfasts were delicious and it is super close to the Medina! If you have a rental car, I would say that it would be quite difficult to park or have acces close to the hotel.

The water was a bit tepid water in the shower. It wouldn’t get very hot. Also, bring ear plugs as you can hear people coming back at night to their rooms

We had a very nice reception from very kind staff. I booked a junior suite w/ balcony which was up one flight of narrow high stairs, then four more steps into room. The guest house and room were beautifully and authentically decorated. Charming! Make sure you follow the narrow stairs in the courtyard up two flights of stairs to the beautiful rooftop deck with several areas to sit and relax. I liked the linens, firm mattress, mini fridge, good water pressure, hot water, shuttered windows to courtyard, gorgeous chandelier, lighting, available outlets, heat and AC. Allow enough time for breakfast which is very good but can take quite long to get through. The first morning we received fresh strawberry juice, fruit bowl, cake, chocolate croissant, sesame something, and local bread with butter, jam and halva. And a pot of coffee with hot milk. The second morning we received fresh squeezed orange juice, fruit bowl, cake, chocolate croissant, baguette and poached egg in spicy tomato sauce.

We ordered a Bolt ride at the airport to the guesthouse address but the driver ditched us close to the medina at dusk saying it was 'that way on foot only'. We couldn't find the property on our own and had to ask some police men for assistance. Make sure you have a good ride who understands were the drop off point for this guesthouse actually is! There was a narrow desk in the room but no desk chair. For the money should provide at least two drinking glasses, and a kettle and two mugs would have been welcome. There was only a hand-held shower head within a very high walled bathtub. The indoor breakfast room was very small and the table set for six was very cramped. Even with the chilly January mornings I would have preferred to eat in the courtyard.

Staff was wonderful especially Dali and Rheem, who made us varied, delicious breakfasts and even came in early one day too make us breakfast before an early tour...I mean, who does that anymore? I gave a 9 rating for the facility cause it's ancient, so it's not going to be perfect. But it's super clean and comfortable. And the rooms are traditionally and beautifully decorated and the rooftop terrace is gorgeous. Nice being in the medina.

It's difficult to find good food for dinner cause the medina closes early. The Ben Gacem part of the medina is good at night, but other parts get a little creepy. Tunis, in general, has few good dinner options so it's not just a medina problem.

This Dar has a well-deserved reputation for its exceptional ambience and service. Located in the medina, close to the souks, the building is old and impressive, restored in beautifully styled decor and artefacts. There are lots of places to sit and relax, including a rooftop terrace. Breakfast and dinner are served in the central atrium, and the catering is excellent. Equally excellent staff supported our stay, willing to chat and assist with travel tips and advice on where to eat. Close to museums and hammams, you can venture out of the bounds of the tourist-focused medina and explore more widely around surrounds of central Tunis. Cleanliness of the room, friendly staff and value for money.

Really disappointed last day when checking out. 2 mayor issues: 1) A young boy (I assume a student) asked me to to pay the stay when checking out al dough I paid in cash the first day I arrived (luckily I asked the girl when I checked inn to mention cash payment on the invoice when I arrived). 2) Last day before checking out the hotel called to conform a taxi next morning at 05.30h to drive me to the airport. At 05.50h still no taxi. A lot of stress and finally I had to walk 1km with all my luggage to find a taxi myself to get to the airport in time. This is absolutely not acceptable, hope it will be reviewed.

• The staff are absolutely amazing, such welcoming and helpful people (Sana, thank you for allowing us late check-in at 5am) • Location is brilliant for exploring both Medina and New Tunis • Only 15/20 mins away from the airport by taxi • Very clean and spacious room with everything you need (hairdryer, fridge, etc…) • Lots of cafes/restaurants nearby

Honestly, there isn’t anything major but here are two small comments: • Maybe offer a bit more salty food for breakfast (as it is quite sweet focused) • Have a few more hangers in the closet

The room decor was magnificent. The room (suite) had some oddities such as having to climb over each other to get out of a bed, and a step in the bathroom, but this was a small price to pay for the character and furnishings. Our particular room was very quiet, and the internet worked well there (others said this was not true for all rooms). The a/c was adequate. The breakfast was great, and although the hours were generous (8-11 a.m.) most guests met at 8 a.m. to chat and get out early. The hotel is deep in the medina (I don't advise driving), just outside the "souk" region populated mostly by locals with only a small part dominated by tourists for a small part of the day. A few restaurants available in easy walking distance. I thought the price was very good for such a historic building in that location. We used the hotel "shuttle" from the airport which worked well (but was x2 the price of a commercial taxi).

Even getting taxi drivers to go to the hotel was a little difficult - they don't like to drive in the Medina.
