The reception and other staff were good with reasonable English and a friendly attitude. The hotel was very clean and tidy with excellent daily room service. The breakfast was a good "continental breakfast," NOT a buffet. However, the staff was quite friendly and helpful if one asked for additional coffee, for example. The hotel location was excellent for access to the Medina, the Nouvelle Ville (Ave Bourgiba), and public transport of all types (bus, tram, louage, train). After an inconvenient change of room (due to a change in reservation), the room for 7 nights was good. Easy access to the 5th floor terrace (quiet with lots of sun) was a real benefit.

As noted in other reviews, the hotel is located on a dark street, often with rubbish piled on the sides. That was a distinct factor against late night access, even though the area is very secure with heavy police protection for the French Embassy which is 1 / 2 block away. The room was small with no view except over the light well.

Spent a total of eight nights at Hotel Suisse Tunis from Feb 23 thru Mar 10 and used it as a home base between tours into Libya and then Algeria. Was very happy with my choice of stay there. The hotel itself is located on a short side street near the French Embassy and not far from the main boulevard/esplanade. At first a little difficult to find, but close to the main down town attractions. Never felt afraid or unsafe with the surroundings. Security at the hotel is excellent with motion sensitive lighting on all floors , as well as an extensive network of security cameras to monitor the hallways. A basic but satisfying continental breakfast is included with the room price and there was free coffee and tea for the asking with plenty of dates, candies and sweets at the front desk area for the taking. The staff however were the true stars at the Suisse. Emma at the front desk/reception area (usually in the mornings and early afternoons) is friendly, knowledgeable, multilingual and speaks excellent English. She was a great help with advice on where to change money, finding good value restaurants, getting laundry done, arranging for bolt/taxi transfers to different sites and to and from the airport for reasonable rates, and was very flexible when I needed to change nights of stay due to a last minute adjustment in my tour itinerary. She will see to it that you are well taken care of and that your specific needs are met. As with all of the staff, they were kind , polite , professional, and did their best to make you feel right at home. If you plan on visiting Tunis, and are looking for a clean, safe , economical and cozy place to stay, do yourself a favor and book a room at Hotel Suisse. good adequate breakfast to start the day. very helpful staff allowed me to exchange money later in day ( after 2 am arrival ) in order to pay my hotel bill . were flexible with rearranging my dates of stay, due to change in flight dates to algeria. also helped with printing up flight itineraries and e-visas for other group members on tour to libya. helpful in arranging transfers by taxi and bolt to airport at fair price. nice quiet location near downtown boulevard area. reasonable rates for small clean single room with good security. very happy I chose to stay here while in Tunis. Occasional noise from other guests when transiting the hallways to their rooms, just a minor annoyance.

Hotel Review: Hotel Suisse, Tunis We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Suisse in Tunis! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist, Emna, who was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable—perfect! The hotel is also in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the Medina, making it ideal for exploring the city's historic heart. Emna served us breakfast with a smile and kept checking whether we required any more tea, coffee, pancakes etc. Overall, a great experience, thanks to the amazing service, clean and comfortable accommodations, and perfect location. Highly recommend!

The staff were amazing, particularly Emna (whose English was great, making it easy to communicate; and she was helpful and personable) and also Yahia. The aircon was A+ unlike many other hotels across the city/country. Locate was close enough to the main road and the medina, as well as a short walk to Carrfour supermarket. Room had a TV with a few English-speaking movie channels (and plenty of Arabic and French channels). Plenty of immediately hot water and good water pressure for showers!

You’re not booking this hotel for the views so none were expected. All around good option!

To start with, we could check-in around 11 AM. We were welcomed at the reception by Emna, who offered us water and coffee. The check-in was very quick. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, e.g. WiFi, TV, comfortable beds, and air conditioning. The bottled water was also provided as well as kettle, tea, and coffee. The bathroom was equipped with towels, a set of cosmetics, and a dryer. We also had a bathtub. Emna was very helpful and hospitable. The breakfast in the morning was simple but very good. We got coffee, boiled egg, bread, jam, butter, croissant, yoghurt, and smoothie. We were asked a couple of times if we needed more to eat or drink. We recommend the hotel Suisse if you stay in Tunis. The hotel is located near the Gare de Tunis, city centre and Medina.

Staff was lovely, Emna at the front desk was fabulous, best service I've had in North Africa. She went out of her way with every guest, was flexible, caring, and helpful! I would recommend your hotel just because of her. Decent breakfast, great location.

No A/C in the room made it stifling. The "city view" consisted of looking at the internal cement staircase (ie no city view). I think there are only a few rooms on the other side with a view of the outside. No carpeting in the room, no clothes dresser, minimal toiletries. The biggest thing is just how LOUD the place is. You can hear the elevator constantly going up and down, people clomping around, the cleaning crew from a very early hour, other guests. I don't know if it's just no soundproofing or the way the place is built, with small, dark hallways wrapped in a semicircle and a central elevator, but I couldn't sleep.

I liked the staff a lot, they don’t hesitate to go the extra mile to assist , the first day I arrived I forgot my purse at the reception area and they were very careful with delivering it to my room , I appreciate that, as well as room service and the kitchen staff I felt like I’am with family and not in a hotel, I would like to extend my gratitude to the female reception staff I didn’t get her name but she was amazing and welcoming, good choice of choosing your staff , and good choice with providing me with a room with a goid vue and balcony I enjoyed it, definitely recommend staying at this hotel and I will definitely stay there for my upcoming trips to tunisia 🇹🇳
