I had a really great stay at Dar El Médina; the staff were absolutely amazing and helpful, the room was lovely and just right for me and my needs, the hotel itself was lovely and the food delicious. I felt very relaxed being at the hotel, and it was a great start to my time in Tunis. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone and especially solo femme travellers.

I have back issues, so the bed was a bit hard for me, but others might not have that problem.

The Dar is so beautiful and historical, it's such a beautiful place. The staff are so really nice and helpful.. The rooms are great, big and comfy. They have everything. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and we tried the restaurant for dinner and it was our best meal in Tunisia. Thanks so much !

Located in the old medina you are only a short walk away from the souk and old town of Tunis. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and made me feel like an extra in an "Lawrence of Arabia" movie. Breakfast was delicious.

Difficult to reach by taxi, so make sure you book a taxi from the hotel, otherwise the local taxi's will not drive you all the way to the hotel. But other than that, there is nothing bad to say about the hotel itself

Dar el Medina is a beautiful traditional house that is nicely preserved and decorated and is truely a gem in the center of the Medina. It is located in the main street of the Medina which has many amazing cafes and traditional tea houses. Live music is played by local people almost every night and is a wonderful place to spend each night. We had a feeling of staying with family during our stay in Dar el Medina! Breakfast was great and was enough to sustain us through the day until Dinner! The staff go above and beyond to help out in any way that they can. Nada, Soheil, Aziz, Muhammed and Monsieur Hadi himself along with other staff who I cannot remember their names, made our stay very comfortable and memorable.

Nothing really. Just be mindful that the Dars (traditional houses) do not have an elevator but staff were helpful with carrying our luggage up and down.

Friendly and helpful personnel, rich breakfast, perhaps the cleanest place in the area.

No fridge (high priority), no TV in the room.

Where to start? The dar is a gorgeous old building, and we had a large room with an alcove and arches and a very high ceiling. The location is superb, right in the middle of the Medina, from which you can walk everywhere. Breakfast was incredible, with freshly squeezed orange juice, omelettes, fresh fruit, home-made jams, yogurt with granola. The staff are very kind and helpful, and they have arrangements with a taxi service that will take you to and from the airport, to the Bardo, etc. We could not have been more pleased with Dar Medina!

Nothing!

This is such a great place to stay! The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming, they truly made us feel very well taken care of during our stay! The hotel is incredibly beautiful, with such nice touches in every corner, and lots of shared areas that are actually nice to hang out at! We loved how big, bright & comfortable our room was! We faced the street, and weren't bothered by the noise. Breakfast was nice (not a lot of vegan options, but they truly tried!).

The wifi wasn't working at all when we checked in, and it was quite spotty during our stay. Otherwise, nothing at all! Be aware that the hotel can be hard to find the first time!

I looved loveed the receptionist girls that work there. Both of them were so lovely friendly and accommodating. They truly made you feel that you're their best guest. They will also store your luggage in the case you have flight/bus later kn the day at no cost. Brekafast is freaking fabulous here: pancakes with chocolate, omeletye, fruits? Cheese, juice.. I'm sorry where else can you see such brekfast. The location is really good as it is right in the medina and is very walkable. I loved this road and all the staff thay worked there and felt really appreciated and kudoos to both receptionist girls

One thing which isn't their fault if you're coming late the walk tk the riad is their ghost medina and it may feel a bit odd...as medina is empty..but I never felt that it wasn't safe it's just everything is closed and you have that eerie feeling

Beautiful hotel in a historical building with original decor and artefacts located in the very heart of the historical Medina. Great touristic experience. Good communication during booking - we asked to leave the bags in the morning before our check-in, and the hotel immediately confirmed in English. Nice breakfast. Lots of space to sit, work, or relax, like the patio and rooftop terrace with a view and causy furnitur. Helpful staff - asked for directions, requested a transfer to the airport, and changed the time. WiFi speed - good.

Not all drivers can find the way to the hotel via medieval streets - be prepared to walk the last 500 meters from La Place du Gouvernement. Be careful when usung Google maps - there is another hotel simply called Medina in the city, which has nothing to do with this hotel. Serving breakfast may take longer than expected - but this is commensurate with the historical atmosphere of the hotel!. 😊

We loved the helpful friendly staff and their desire to go over and above to assist with your needs. The location is really good, close to the Medina and taxis. The breakfast is delicious and you can tell they take great pride in feeding you well.

In their generous desire to help us find a taxi driver to take us to see Carthage and visit other tourists sites, they pushed forward one of their very kind staff for the job. I should have stipulated we wanted an experienced person who knew the sites, and where they were. We would also have requested that the car would have air conditioning, neither of these things our driver had - although you could not fault his kindness and friendliness. The tip is to always hire a professional driver for these excursions, not necessarily the fault of the hotel, but ours.
