Room 501 was a bit noisy because of elevator and air con noise ( also when switched of ) No safe in room No fridge in room

The reception and other staff were good with reasonable English and a friendly attitude. The hotel was very clean and tidy with excellent daily room service. The breakfast was a good "continental breakfast," NOT a buffet. However, the staff was quite friendly and helpful if one asked for additional coffee, for example. The hotel location was excellent for access to the Medina, the Nouvelle Ville (Ave Bourgiba), and public transport of all types (bus, tram, louage, train). After an inconvenient change of room (due to a change in reservation), the room for 7 nights was good. Easy access to the 5th floor terrace (quiet with lots of sun) was a real benefit.

As noted in other reviews, the hotel is located on a dark street, often with rubbish piled on the sides. That was a distinct factor against late night access, even though the area is very secure with heavy police protection for the French Embassy which is 1 / 2 block away. The room was small with no view except over the light well.

We were graciously served traditional Tunisian lemon tea and presented with beautiful local flowers — a truly thoughtful and touching gesture. Our room was ready for us right on time, and it was impeccably clean, comfortable, and tastefully arranged — everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Every member of the hotel staff we encountered was friendly, courteous, and sincerely hospitable, making us feel valued and at home. The breakfast was delightful, with a wide variety of well-prepared options, and everything was generously replenished whenever requested, reflecting the hotel’s true spirit of generosity and care for its guests. We are especially thankful to the lady Front Office Manager who, on the day of our checkout, kindly allowed us to rest in our room for an additional two hours. This thoughtful gesture was deeply appreciated and speaks volumes about the excellent service culture at your hotel. Without a doubt, we highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tunis. Spent a total of eight nights at Hotel Suisse Tunis from Feb 23 thru Mar 10 and used it as a home base between tours into Libya and then Algeria. Was very happy with my choice of stay there. The hotel itself is located on a short side street near the French Embassy and not far from the main boulevard/esplanade. At first a little difficult to find, but close to the main down town attractions. Never felt afraid or unsafe with the surroundings. Security at the hotel is excellent with motion sensitive lighting on all floors , as well as an extensive network of security cameras to monitor the hallways. A basic but satisfying continental breakfast is included with the room price and there was free coffee and tea for the asking with plenty of dates, candies and sweets at the front desk area for the taking. The staff however were the true stars at the Suisse. Emma at the front desk/reception area (usually in the mornings and early afternoons) is friendly, knowledgeable, multilingual and speaks excellent English. She was a great help with advice on where to change money, finding good value restaurants, getting laundry done, arranging for bolt/taxi transfers to different sites and to and from the airport for reasonable rates, and was very flexible when I needed to change nights of stay due to a last minute adjustment in my tour itinerary. She will see to it that you are well taken care of and that your specific needs are met. As with all of the staff, they were kind , polite , professional, and did their best to make you feel right at home. If you plan on visiting Tunis, and are looking for a clean, safe , economical and cozy place to stay, do yourself a favor and book a room at Hotel Suisse. Clean, good breakfast, daily room cleaning, shower gel, shampoo and soap provided. Bottles of water provided in room every day. Mini fridge in room was very useful. Good clean, comfortable beds, spacious. Very hospitable and friendly staff who are more than happy to help it any problems arise. Shout out to Addzak who helped us with our bags to the taxi. I really like the roof terrace on 4th and 5th floor.

The location was near the fruit and vegetable market and very far from La Marsa and the beach areas. Heavily congested and often stuck in standstill traffic. Many of the areas surrounding the hotel were dirty lots of rubbish bags and litter.

good adequate breakfast to start the day. very helpful staff allowed me to exchange money later in day ( after 2 am arrival ) in order to pay my hotel bill . were flexible with rearranging my dates of stay, due to change in flight dates to algeria. also helped with printing up flight itineraries and e-visas for other group members on tour to libya. helpful in arranging transfers by taxi and bolt to airport at fair price. nice quiet location near downtown boulevard area. reasonable rates for small clean single room with good security. very happy I chose to stay here while in Tunis. She was incredibly helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable—perfect! The hotel is also in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the Medina, making it ideal for exploring the city's historic heart. Emna served us breakfast with a smile and kept checking whether we required any more tea, coffee, pancakes etc. Overall, a great experience, thanks to the amazing service, clean and comfortable accommodations, and perfect location. Highly recommend!

The hotel was spotless. Room had plenty of storage so it was ideal for my 11-night stay. Felt safe as a solo traveller. Breakfast was delicious and filling. Staff were incredibly kind, generous and hospitable, especially Emna at Reception. She always checked in on me and made sure my needs were being met. A lovely smily face you see once you go in! She's always greeting people with a smile and was helpful when I needed help sorting out taxis on the app or recommendations for things to do and places to see. I would absolutely recommend the place to a friend.

Hotel Suisse Tunis – A Week Full of Warmth & Top Service! I spent a week at Hotel Suisse in Tunis – and it was truly a great experience! The location is super central, and the rooms are clean, cozy, and quiet – perfect for anyone who wants to stay in the heart of the city but still enjoy some peace and relaxation. What really impressed me, though, was the exceptional service. The booking app "forgot" one night of my reservation. Super annoying – or so I thought. But the hotel staff stepped in immediately: friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. They resolved the missing night without any hassle and made me feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of. A huge thank you to the entire team (especially Emna)!
