Check in was easy. Location superb! Just that the foyer was very small and could only fit 2 cars so drop off was rushed. The staff are ALL awesome. Jesse (our waiter) totally totally exceeded expectations at handling us. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and general questions about Uganda that we asked. Jean Claudde was also very helpful whenever we needed assistance. The waiters on our checkout morning, awesome people. My mam was very happy.

The shower had very good pressure but the overhead wasn't turning on so we relied on the hand one, which was also not facing forward well. Had to stand on the side.

The hotel was clean, located in a good area and has food that is pretty good. The staff were also very welcoming and tried their best to help me with what i needed during my stay. Special thanks to the team who sorted me out during my long work trips out of Kampala.

I felt as though the staff was a little rigid at times. I had requested Jacky, the night time receptionist to assist me with an invoice that split my costs. She said it was impossible. This was strange and clearly wrong as the receptionist the following morning was able to assist me. She clearly just did not want to take the time to do it which is upsetting. Also with the restaurant. On one occasion i was denied having both vegetables and starch with my main protein, yet the last four days prior i was served with a vegetable and a starch. I am not clear on the inconsistencies, but suggest all staff remain on the same page to ensure a pleasant experience for their guests especially as these were very small asks.

This hotel is really clean. The staff (front desk, restaurant, general team incl. security) very respectful, friendly, accommodating and professional.. not too "in your face". Front desk staff helped me scan some documents, and call up a taxi service using the local swift app (which I eventually didn't use as i woke up late!). I could also access some of the major TV networks from the room and the aircon worked well. The management team was excellent - I brought in a laptop with the incorrect charger and they supplied the correct cable to allow me to continue with my work, and their overall professionalism was highly appreciated. They're very well spoken and work to resolve issues immediately. The wifi worked perfectly over the full duration of my stay. I spent most of my time traveling to other parts of Kampala but the food I had at the restaurant was really good. The hotel is in a developing suburb but I noticed offices for some US-based organizations and a govt agency on the same street. The only downside to my trip was traffic congestion around the city, so trips must be well planned to avoid peak time traffic. My overall experience in Uganda was really amazing, everyone was so kind, friendly and accommodating. I unfortunately didn't make the trip to Bwindi to see the mountain gorillas but hope to return soon!! I've left Kampala with a new perspective on life.

I really enjoyed my stay at Athena hotel. The room was a highlight. Breakfast was great and the staff were amazing. Everyone was really helpful and friendly. Each time I called the reception they were more than ready to assist. Special mention to Jean, Charles, Emmanuel, Joseph and all the women at the front desk.

My only issue was I called to ask for my room to be cleaned and unfortunately this did not happen.

The breakfast was amazing (great variety of food and fresh), we even got called once when we were late for breakfast (great service, very considerate), the rooms were very clean and cleaned everyday, the shuttle was on time and great.

The water in the shower was cold.

Athena never disappoints. This hotel is one of the few hotels in Kampala with the best customer service and value for your money. The amenities are a bit limited, but the overall care, cleanliness, and room size are very generous. I always enjoy my stays at this hotel.

Roads to the location /endless construction maybe

There is only one issue, the meals at the restaurant are lacking. For such expensive meal options on your menu, there's definitely a need to revise this service. The kitchen staff is super nice, though.

My stay was short but very comfortable. i was just passing through headed for a business trip and i was praying for a very quiet room. I got exactly that. i believe it was sound proofed. slept like a baby

Breakfast was better than expected. Omlettes and cappuccinos are made to order, no extra charge. Good variety on the breakfast bar.
