Location and facilities

Arrived for breakfast at 9.15am as booked. Breakfast took 50 minutes to arrive which was not a problem and the breakfast was of an issue excellent standard. Problem when we fetched coffee after eating to be told that we maybe shouldn't take this as our checkout was due for 10.00am. we hadn't even received our breakfast by then do felt that the remark from the lady was harsh and unfair. When we checked out less than 10 minutes later two other guests were checking out at the same time so presumably they were not reprimanded for this. It was a shame as it was a thoroughly lovely place and really good food.

The superior double room we had was large and very comfortable. The bed was great and the pillows were excellent. The restaurant was lovely, with well-spaced tables and both dinner and breakfast were very good. All of the staff were exceptional: friendly, efficient and professional. If you are considering booking, you should be aware that this is a very dog friendly hotel. We were not travelling with our dogs, but there were five dogs in the dining room at dinner the first night (we didn’t mind at all).

All of the food on the menu was still fairly wintry and heavy (in late March) and we would have appreciated a lighter option, although everything we ate was delicious. The pizzas (served on a Friday and Saturday evening) had a rather strange selection of toppings, which put us off trying them.

Dinner was suburb. The chuck burger was excellent and the sticky Toffee pudding was to die for. As it happened there was an 'Open Mic' night scheduled on the evening if my stay. What can i say about that. This was a brilliant night with some very talented musicians. I use the word musicians because this is what they were. Exceptional people from young to old. Great night. The room was very clean and modern. The shower was fantastic. The bed was so comfortable i would have like to take it home. All the staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. I would recommend the Fox at Ansty to anyone. Great value for money.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was such a calm relaxing place we loved the atmosphere there. Very clean and lovely rooms.

On the first night it was a bit too relaxed for what I wanted because it was already late and wanted to get food quick so I could get my daughter to bed but they took a long time to serve us even though we had booked a time and we waited a while for our order to be taken then it took a while for the food to arrive but I was in a bit of a rush and if I wasn't which people usually are not when going out to eat I would have not minded the wait and relaxed with a drink

A lovely time from start to finish. Felt so welcome and comfortable. The room was so lovely & immaculately clean. The bar was reasonably priced, the bar snacks were lovely and there was friendly & welcoming feeling. The staff were all happy, friendly & very personable. The food was amazing, clean, fresh, well presented. The whole atmosphere was relaxing & calm. Couldn’t have wished for a more perfect place for a relaxing night away. Would definitely recommend & would love to return for another lovely weekend away.

There was nothing to not like. Everything was perfect.

The staff were helpful, friendly, excellent. The food was great - I loved the first steak I had. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was lovely.

It was not about service - it was about the room structurally. There are parts of the room in which I could not stand upright. Also, maybe a bit more soundproofing is needed in the walls - on my third night, a couple was given the room next to mine. I could not sleep even though I was exhausted because of the moaning and groaning, then I woke up at 5 am to do my prep for work and they got up and were at it again. It sounded like our beds were on the same wall! Also the location - even though I liked that it was not in a busy noisy place - it was so out of the way that it is reachable only by country lanes and I find driving on country lanes stressful.

Enjoyed the ambience of the hotel including bedroom and dining room. Evening meal and breakfast was delightful and staff very polite and helpful throughout our one night stay. Bedroom was light and airy with large bed that was very comfy albeit a bit springy. The bathroom toiletries were fab. Thank you for making us feel very welcome. Plenty of car parking space too, another plus point.

Nothing really, perhaps fresh milk in room for tea/coffee and walk-in shower rather than shower over bath but neither were a problem

The Fox Inn was a lovely place to stay! The room was cosy and very comfortable. Clean towels and fresh supplies were available should you request them. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. Food in the restaurant was very good but felt that there could have been a little more choice. Thorougly enjoyed our stay.

There wasn't very much not to like at The Fox Inn. If i was being picky I would have liked a fridge in the room and at breakfast would have liked some fresh fruit but other than that it was a great place to stay.

Lovely hotel/pub with exceptional staff who gave us a warm welcome. It was very clean and tidy and the rooms were nice and bright. Good choice of coffee and tea in rooms with added bikky. It was an exceptionally hot night but we had the benefit of a fan in the room, which was fab. In a different hotel the night before I had had a 'spider incident' so we slept with the window closed but here it felt so clean and airy and spider free that I even dared to leave the window open!!! Lovely cooked breakfast also choice of pastries and cereal.

Only 1 small thing that could have been better and it really isn't a huge issue but the shower could do with some form of shelf for bottles. As it's fairly small every time we picked up a bottle from the floor we both hit our heads on the shower handle.I thought hubby was just being clumsy and then I did the same thing!!!!

Super breakfast. Fresh croissants and mini pain au chocolat a favourite! Lunch/Dinner options very good choice. Booklet illustrating walks from the pub and duration informative. Well-stocked farm shop over the road. Dog friendly.

Clean, comfortable room, but restricted headroom towards the window because of the deep dormer window construction, even if you are of average height - so mind your head! (This would not dissuade from staying here in the future.)
