The old forge B&B is set in idyllic surroundings, quiet and away from it all yet very close to some lovely pubs. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean, the bed very comfy, we spent three nights there and could have stayed longer. Breakfast was amazing, fresh ingredients selected beautifully, so much of it, something we looked forward to every morning. The owner is very attentive and looked after us so well during our stay, it was a pleasure meeting her. With so much to explore in the area we would love to stay there again.

Such a comfortable and relaxing place, a converted rural building in the grounds of Wraxall Farm. The bedroom is a feast for the eyes. Plenty of hot water in the elegant bathroom fitted with both shower and large, luxurious bath tub. Excellent breakfasts in the ancient, beamed and beautifully furnished valley farmhouse across the road and narrow crystal clear stream. Hostess Judy does an excellent job. Mapperton House, Beaminster, Cooney's Castle for the bluebells, Bridport, West Bay....some of the easily reached delights of the area....plus those great meals in country pubs and the rolling green hills of West Dorset.

The place was very much to our liking...so nothing at all.

This was our second stay at the old forge bed and breakfast and we came for a short break, which was just what we needed. It was lovely to be given a warm welcome and the village is lovely. Early spring is a very good time of the year.

Everything Judy was a wonderful host and the breakfasts were amazing. Our room was spotless with additional touches of a home made cake on our arrival , fresh milk for the tea and coffee and lovely biscuits, which made us feel very welcome. The location was perfect for trips to the lovely Dorset coast and a peaceful, quiet haven to return to after a busy day. We will be back!!!

Judy is an amazing host. Her breakfast is outstanding. We felt so welcome and felt we could treat the old forge like home during our stay. The complimentary fizz for valentines day, the delicious lemon drizzle cake and yummy biscuits were just another touch of a truly special stay. Such good value for money!

A beautiful stay in a lovely place. Fantastic host, so friendly and welcoming. Super breakfast . Great attention to detail. Perfect for the dog with a secure garden. Even down to the provision of a fridge, milk, biscuits, bottled water, and the usual tea and coffee, and homemade carrot cake, there's a real personal touch.

ROOM - Comfy, clean & warm. Very well supplied with teas, snacks (homemade cake) & toiletries. Lovely shower. Beautiful garden. HOST - Judy’s breakfasts are the best I’ve ever had. They are delicious, plentiful and she makes you feel incredibly welcome.

Lower Wraxall is a tiny village and the most perfect place to stay for a quiet getaway - all the coastal towns of Dorset are within easy reach and there is so much to see. Judy is the best host ever with amazing breakfasts and lovely touches in the room.

Breakfasts were a real treat. Excellent food and service. Lovely sitting in the bay with the garden view. Enclosed garden for the dog .

No need for TV but it was impossible to operate. Printed instructions would have helped. Satnav worked to find location, although we were warned it was inaccurate.

Hosts were super friendly and made it a very welcome stay meeting us as we arrived in the dark. Breakfast was 10/10 with a wide variety of fruits, yogurts and granola etc. Cooked breakfast was also great. quality ingredients. set us up nicely for a long day.
