The location was perfect; it was in between family and the event I wanted to attend, plus the shopping centre. Norma, the owner, is ever so lovely and welcoming. She goes above and beyond to make you feel at ease. Despite being unwell, she wanted to help me settle, carried my small bag, and gave me a big room so I could do my exercises. I am not comfortable around pets, so Norma kept her dogs away, which was lovely and kind of her.
The room I was given was lovely, and I feel bad saying this, but the bed felt a bit uncomfortable. It also needed dusting. I believe it hadn't been used for a while, so it gathered a bit of dust. However, these things did not bother. I was happy with my stay.

Norma is a wonderful hostess. She is so friendly and helpful and always has the residents’ best interests in mind. Along with her staff, the Westbourne Lodge gives a homey vibe to travellers, especially to long time solo travellers who are homesick. Norma welcomed me at the door when I arrived, and has been so helpful during my stay. Norma’s kitchen is spacious and very well equipped, full of electrical appliances you can name. There is a lovely garden in the Lodge as well, where you can spend a great time with yourself and your dog if you have one. The Lodge is well located in a quiet neighbourhood. I could hear bird songs all day long. There is a big window in my room with a nice view of the greenery nearby. It is close to bus stops where you can travel to different areas of the city easily. I cannot speak enough about the good things about Norma and the Lodge.
I haven’t used the launderette, so I cannot comment on that.

Norma is a wonderful woman, she greeted me with a smile, on the first day I received a jar of coffee, a bar of fruit and yogurt, I received the main daily cleaning of the room, peace and quiet, I can use the large kitchen , the living room and garden. Norma is a caring woman, full of warmth in her facility I felt taken care of, I recommend this facility. Thank you Norma for everything I'm recommended a place.

Great location, quiet road, no difficulty parking. Norma was very welcoming, upgraded to a double room in a quieter part of the building. A fan was provided as the nights were warm and humid. Lovely hot shower and you have a small fridge for food. Lovely sitting area outside and indoors with drinking water.
Nothing really, the only thing that may be an issue is the room being up two flights of stairs, which may be an issue for some.

Norma was a delight! So friendly and welcoming! Made us feel right at home and was happy to tell us about local places to visit bus routes etc! Other staff were also lovely. The place was clean and homey. Great value for money! Also loved the little garden out back!
The only thing I could say is the beds aren’t very comfortable but with some softer pillows and a mattress topper it would have been just fine ☺️

Very nice hotel with a lovely owner/hostess. Our room was spacious with two comfortable chairs, and the bathroom was modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable too, and there was parking space for several cars in front of the lodge. You can make tea and coffee (provided by the hostess) with an electric kettle in the room, and there's also a mini-fridge. We had a very nice stay here.
Although stated on booking.com Westbourne Lodge is not a bed&breakfast (anymore), as guests must provide their own breakfast. However, there is a well equipped kitchen, with enough space in the fridge to store your own food (supermarket is only a 5 minute walk away), shared with the other guests, and a comfy dining room/lounge. Tea and coffee are always available, free of charge.

Westbourne Lodge experience was great for me. It was relaxing, calm and serene. I enjoyed having outdoor space at the garden and a large kitchen to cook my meals. I also enjoyed the great company of the host's family, helpful housekeepers and relaxed fellow lodgers. The place was clean and my room was large with all the amenities I needed including welcome tea, coffee and milk throughout my stay (very nice). I enjoyed the large bath and spacious bathroom. I was able access a good number locations near me like the University of Birmingham, The Botanical Gardens, and High Street among others. I look forward to my next stay at Westbourne Lodge when my travels take me back to Birmingham.

The owner and the staff at this Lodge were amazing always asking if everything was okay if we needed something. They arranged for a cab when we needed one no problem at all. Beds were comfy room was large. We booked 5 weeks before we travelled so unfortunately no main floor room was available there is no lift so if mobility is a problem might not be for you. Ask them tho if they have it they will do what they can for you.

The location was ideal. Very close to frequent bus routes but off the main road enough to make it quieter. The host, Norma, was absolutely lovely; as were the others I met in my two week stay. The room was nice and warm and the shower was ok. The bed was comfortable.
The coin-operated laundry facilities were not good. I wish I'd used a launderette instead; it certainly would have been cheaper and more controllable.

Would highly recommend this place to any female single traveller. Everyone I saw that was staying there was really polite and friendly, I felt completely at ease being there on my own. Norma goes out of her way to make sure you are happy and will accommodate you as much as she can. My room was at the back looking out to the garden, nice and quiet. Fabulous large garden with lots of seating.
Needed a more comfortable desk chair as I spent quite a long time sitting at the desk using my laptop each night. Everything else was perfect!
