The rooms are very welcomingly furnished and decorated. Also, the washing basin in the room is actually very practical. The Highfield is situated in a quiet street. Having the eestaurant next door, is superb, given that you don’t need to look for a place to eat. Plus the smell is not a topic. Often it is disturbing sleeping above a restaurant.

The mattress was a bit too soft, especially when two people sleep on it. Moving is not possible without disturbing your partner. Breakfast was included in our booking, but not all staff did know how it is usually handled. The prices for the dishes on the à la carte menu are varying a lot, so I asked the waitress on the first day if we could have smaller portions of several dishes; she said, of course, not a problem. Three days later, another one had was puzzled on us having not only one dish on the menu. I travelled a lot in UK, and most B&B’s or hotels would offer the typical full english breakfast or specialities from the area, and they did ask for the kind of eggs we wanted etc. So, that was confusing, but solved.

The nonsense self check in suited us perfectly. We loved the cute little lounge downstairs with comfy seating and free coffee. The accommodation itself was clean, stylish, comfortable and the luxurious surroundings felt like a proper treat. Our room smelt delightful due to the beautiful Lily and Grace diffuser in there. The free toiletry products were also top quality and enhanced our experience. The proximity to the really lovely pub next door was a definite plus. It had a relaxed ambience, the staff were friendly and attentive and our meal in the evening was really tasty. Breakfast was equally as delicious. I wouldn’t hesitate to return here!

All staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived early and I enquired at the High Field pub about parking and they gave me a free pass. The room was spacious, clean and warm. There was a full size iron and ironing board, 2 bathrobes, nice big towels, a full size hairdryer. Plenty of tea and coffee and 2 bottles of water, and some biscuits, in the room. The bed was comfy and massive! The shower was nice and powerful with lovely Scottish Soap products to use. The breakfast at the High Field pub was delicious, plenty of choice. We can't wait to book again.

2nd time we have stayed in the high field and would definitely recommend and will be returning. It's always clean and smells lovely. Great facilities in room tea, coffee, hot choc, biscuits,. We paid for brekki at pub next door this time, staff are always lovely and friendly and food great.

There were a few little maintenance issues like hot tap and toilet seat loose. The bed was quite soft for us, and the bed frame creeked every time we rolled over. Shower door seemed to open the wrong way, so we couldn't put bath mat down. These little things would not stop us returning as we love staying at the hotel

We arrived an hour before check in. Staff at the pub were very friendly, checked whether our room was ready and took us across to let us in once they had confirmed we could check in early. Our room was large, clean and well equipped. the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was very quiet and use of a lounge area with fresh milk in the fridge and Nespresso coffee was perfect before we left as we didn't want breakfast.We had a delicious dinner in the pub in the evening. We would definitely return when back in Birmingham.

I was travelling to support someone in hospital nearby - I wanted to feel safe and comfortable and this boutique hotel ticked all the boxes, I was a bit anxious about getting in with the code but instructions were clear and it was easy. The room was spotless and comfortable with nice products to use and plenty space and towels etc. I ate at the pub just across the car park which is also attached to the hotel and staff couldn’t have been more welcoming to an older lady travelling alone. - I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We always try to stay at Highfield when visiting Birmingham for Test matches ay Edgbaston. Never disappoints, offering high quality accommodation which is very well appointed, quiet with safe off-road parking. Breakfasts at the linked pub next door are excellent. Positive staff with good engagement in person and timely response to on-line queries about booking.

Absolutely loved our stay. We only booked a one night stay for an event at the Utilita stadium. Booking and check in super easy, excellent communication throughout. Easy to find, parking available at the hotel. The Town house and the room we stayed in is beautiful. Smells divine, everything is immaculately clean, decor is classy and the bedding, toiletries etc all very luxurious. Bed was so comfy we slept like a dream. The pub is fabulous. Went for a few drinks in the evening and breakfast the next morning. The pub is also beautiful, clean and decorated so tastefully. The staff are ALL incredible. Friendly, happy, warm and welcoming. We walked to the stadium which took about 15/20 minutes so went to a few pubs on the waterfront, really nice area. Can’t recommend The High Fields highly enough. We’ve come away feeling rested well looked after a like we’ve been treated to a luxury night away.

I honestly have nothing remotely negative about our stay. I’m not easily bowled over but I loved everything about High Fields.

The room was excellent: spacious, comfortable, quite simply a pleasant place to be. The rainfall shower and rolltop bath were both delightful, accompanied by a good provision of towels of all sizes and bathrobes, as well as the expected toiletries and bath salts. The bed itself was very comfortable, the air conditioning effective, and the provision of teas, coffees and milks generous (plus the option to retrieve fresh milk from the hotel's entrance if desired). And all within ten minutes' walk of Edgbaston Village tramstop (or 30 minutes' walk from the city centre), for a very reasonable price. All in all, an excellent experience!

As advertised, the hotel itself is unstaffed (bar the people who come to clean the rooms in the day, of course); this isn't necessarily a downside, and indeed with the neighbouring pub means the hotel works much like a European pension hotel, but it did feel a little sad seeing what was clearly once a staffed check-in desk now entirely vacant!

Building is gorgeous, well maintained and beautifully decorated. Room was big, immaculately clean and modern. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was great. Check in/keyless entry was very easy. Just blown away by the place to be honest. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room, free bottles of water/biscuits. Also free 'posh' coffee in reception.
