The restaurant was expensive for the quality of meal. Breakfast charges - on line £11.50, in advance at the hotel 14.95, on the day 18.95. These price differentials are ridiculous. I had my card ready to pay 11.50 at the desk and was told it was an on line offer - the email offer did not state it was an on line only price. They did honour it but it took 2 staff members to sort it and I had to show the email as proof at the desk, embarrassing and not what we want on short break away. Only booked a week before our stay and was inundated with daily emails about various extras . I felt quite dissatisfied with my booking , feeling my stay was going to be very basic and I would be missing out.

The bedroom could have been cleaner, cobwebs in the bathroom. For a 4 star hotel I would have liked a mini fridge for milk in the room. Only had 4 milk cartons which was one cup of tea each. The bar area had food on the floor. The staff were great at wiping the tables but not cleaning up food if on the floor. We pre-ordered two taxis via the hotel reception and were let down by the taxi company both going and coming back. Only one taxi turned up. Not ideal as we had children with us. Maybe the hotel should consider using a different taxi company

I had an excellent experience at this hotel, which made working away from home a real pleasure. The location is stunning, with beautiful views of Bolton and a peaceful atmosphere. The spa was a real highlight—absolutely fantastic for unwinding after a busy day. There are a couple of great dining options on-site, both serving delicious food, and just behind the hotel are a few charming shops to browse through. As a female travelling alone, I felt completely comfortable and at ease throughout my stay. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always helpful. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed—highly recommend!

I have stayed many times over the years. I'm saddened by the houses but I guess that's the way life is currently. I feel they spoil what WAS a lovely view from yhe infinity pool. Other than that the stay as always is great. I cone to visit my parents up at St Anne's church and just to spoil myself and have lovely walks. Staff and the rooms are always excellent. I think the extra charge for a dog is slightly excessive. My dog is clean and doesn't moult do I don't consider he is much in the way of extra work...you'd hardly know he was there. But again a moot point and a sign of the times. Meals were excellent and good value.

Bake house 50% was under staffed and the poor young girl was on her own . Shop was full, not enough food order is , slow service . I waited 15 mins to buy 2 bottles of juice. I gave up wanting a few tray as not much left at 10:30 am. The girl was ran off her feet. And probably gets paid a fraction of the managers , wisely the young girl called for backup, it arrived quickly but two managers all suited and started serving. They did ‘t have a clue and didn’t wash their hands when going to serve Behind the counter . The reception area was like an airport, not enough staff and they did t have a clue. Nice drive in to the property all well kept. Check in straight forward. Room delicious. Couldn't decide where to dine simply because the restaurant and the pub had the same feel and decor so we chose the pub for the music and entertainment. The artist was outstanding by the way. Food was good but missing some flare and passion in regards to the menus. Breakfast service was efficient and the full English was superb. Continental buffet was below par. All in all two happy travellers.

Resturant needs a rethink in terms of decorating and food offering.

The spa was lovely and it was relatively easy to book in for. The spa reception was very quick to email back! When my partner and I were stuck in traffic and couldn't get to the restraunt for our reservation for Afternoon Tea, they were happy to accommodate us for a later time. The room was cozy, the bed was comfortable and bigger than expected to be plus it was quiet and not too far from reception.

The room was a bit hot at night and could have used a fan. I'm sure reception could have accommodated us but we got back to our room around midnight and felt bad to contact reception so late at night.

Received a very friendly reception, and after having a prior booking elsewhere that was not so nice, it was very refreshing. The staff were very relaxed and informative, nothing too much trouble. The spa facilities were wonderful, and although we had a booked time slot, this did not feel mi ro managed in any way. We respected the fact it may be busy and just enjoyed our time there. The food was also really nice, and they catered to our requests. Brunch was excellent, and it's clear they have improved their food quality. Great service too.

Would have been nice to have water in the room, but it's just a small thing that did not impact our stay in any way.

I have known the property since 1980 and I have visited it and stayed many times. The previous two owners destroyed it and the last time I stayed there when it was Mecure owned was absolutely disgusting. I am really pleased with the new owners and the very polite and helpful staff thank you

I have one very small complaint the ventilation in the bathroom was not working and that maybe a considerable fact with the mound growing in the silicone around the bath but it is a common problem but can be eradicated.

Super location for hospital day operation. Has a great character. Interesting and lots of facilities. Good food and breakfast. Not gourmet but wholesome and more than adequate. Good value for money. The staff were all wonderful and really went out of their way to help, advise and ensure that we were looked after. Breakfast was good. Some areas such as the restaurant were a little tired but the restaurant team were wonderful. Great experience in the on site pub for dinner. Great pub food. Sad the circumstances meant we could not take advantage of the spa.

Bedroom carpet could have been cleaner. Didn’t like the pillows but that is personal as the ones supplied were to prevent allergies and we like down.. No razor point in the bathroom and limited shower gel. Internet was not good and very variable in quality. TV worked only intermittently and not in all channels, a message kept coming up to check aerial. In room safe didn’t seem to work properly. It could have been me but I do travel a lot and always use the safe. Brought to attention of reception and when I had a problem the duty manager was there to help very quickly.
