We arrived and I was upgraded to a suite the room was beautiful the woman was so friendly and couldnt do enough for us. we rebooked the week after under my partners name and the room we bought was a suite hoping we could get something similar. unfortunetly we didnt get the bathroom with the bath and shower like the previous, the first visit was unbeliveable and very clean

We had rang up the night before to upgrade the rooms spoke to a nice man called Steven. For some reason Steven forgot to put this in the system so on our arrival we were greeted by an amazing receptionist named Michele who sorted out everything that Steven had forgotten she was so nice and helpful and couldn't do enough for us . This was the start to our night the building its self is beautiful nice and clean and very welcoming. Michelle didn't disappoint us with our room upgrade. The suite was amazing spacious very clean and one of the biggest beds I've ever seen . As I was in the shower there was a knock at the door my wife answered to a complementary bottle of fizz sent from Michelle ive got to say the customer service is amazing apart from forgetful Steven ha ha remember Steven you could always learn from Michelle thank you for everything

Beautiful building in lovely surrounding gardens with a beautiful fountain as you approached the entrance. The interior was lovely with welcoming sofas dotted around and a lovely bright conservatory overlooking a small garden area leading to a marquee.

Lovely building although our room needed a refurb it looked a bit drab and had signs of water damage to the ceiling. I know it’s probably a sign of the times we’re living in as we’ve experienced this in most of the hotels we’ve stayed in unfortunately.

The check in was smooth and painless, the service was good, the room was fine clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good although it was served on side plates I assume to keep portion sizes down.

The hotel looks tired and very nineties and in need of refurbishment. There were painters in the main lobby during my stay which is a good thing but the hotel is not the same as the reputation that the old Thistle Haydock had in its heyday when all the away teams stayed there before matches in Liverpool or Manchester.

The suite was lovely as a free upgrade. The layout and communual spaces were very good. The spa facilities was great. Bed very comfy. Really appreciate the free drink at the bar gift on arrival. The reception team were lovely. The spa staff were polite. The other restaurant staff were amazingly polite.

The moron at breakfast. Absolutely zero people skills. I was expected to shiver as were others because he was hot in hus work. Its rhe floppy haired older guy who clearly is in the wrong job. His work ethic was good but he would put me off staying again. If he was one of my staff, I would have dismissed him for how he spoke to a customer! The TV in the suite could not been seen from the bed.

Overall food was very good but the restaurant was not large enough for the amount of people dining. We were told to find a table which was difficult as there was none available. The check-in staff should of asked people to wait in a Queue until a table became available but we were given a tray and told find somewhere in the lounge to sit. Staff were not very friendly in the restaurant.

The hotel lobby Wc s were not kept clean and tidy late on when a wedding was taking place . Appreciate this was down to wedding guest but should be checked hourly like most establishment s.

Facilities within the room. Hotel bar, restaurant and breakfast was lovely. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Bathroom in room could do with updating. Noise on our second night from a wedding reception was very loud and we all struggled to get to sleep. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, thin, noisy and could feel the springs. Not very sturdy. My son didn't sleep in it. He ended up in our bed.

Lovely bright entrance, reception staff on arrival very polite & professional. Cathy the cleaner did an excellent job on the room, it was spotless

The window in the room was mouldy with the condensation, but it was covered by voile, so I only saw it because I was checking to see if it was raining Reception on departure, although 3 of them they weren't very interactive, seemed preoccupied like they just wanted us to go, no eye contact, too busy on their computer. .. previous years they have always been lovely

I have been using the hotel for a few months now and can’t fault it, when the price is right no other hotel matches it. From staying in suites to superior room and standard, they are all great. The coffee pods in the room are a great shout, the leisure facilities are ideal, it’s never too busy, bar area is nice, soaps and shampoos are great, flavoured water is a touch. Lastly the staff are outstanding, very professional. To sum it up, it’s a proper hotel with all the touches.

Nothing. Not my problem but it is starting to look a little tired around some of the rooms and bathrooms.
