It was quiet. It was comfortable. It was clean. It was beautiful. I could go on about all the good attributes this B&B is Gary and Jen run an amazing place - an old, from 1957 or so,, but very well rebuilt place. The only thing nicer than the place, is the warmth and willingness to help from Gary and Jen, the owners It is located at Hale Village, about 20 mins drive from Liverpool city centre, but well accessible by bus, and costs just £2 for a single trip. Uber cost about £15. If you want a remote hideout, with beautiful nature, quiet surroundings, zero noise and lovely restaurants and shops not for off, this B&B completely fits the bill. I would highly recommend this, especially if you just want a quiet place to rest and rejuvenate. There wasn't a single thing I could complain about. Well maybe just the absence of a full English breakfast. But I'm looking forward to staying again, whenever I'm in and around Liverpool. Thank you for all the help Gary and Jen!

Warm and friendly greeting by host on arrival. Great room which was very clean - comfy soft bed - quiet night - plenty of extras in the room from biscuits, nutrient bars, variety of fruit, 3 types of cereals, fridge with fruit juice and milk, tea making facilities, quality coffee (this was also our breakfast but so good to have it all available at the start) - TV - En-suite bathroom with shower - SUPERB! Less than 10 miles to Liverpool which was handy. Brilliant value for money.

Personally I would have liked a larger shower cubicle but it was perfectly adequate. Nothing really - it was excellent.

The location is a very good, lovely & rural but not too far out of the City. Despite being virtually under the flight path for John Lennon airport, it was quite relaxing watching the planes landing and was far distracting or inconvenient. The purpose built rooms were perfect we had Room 4. Everything you need is provided and was very clean. Buffet style breakfast items along with other snacks ,tea , coffee were perfect. We were greeted by Gary who is very genuine ,caring and passionate about his business. Nothing was too much trouble and his offer of assistance for transportation was a fabulous gesture. We met Jenny who like Gary was a very genuinely nice host and we were made to feel like family. Would very definitely recommend the Barn as a place to stay. We will absolutely be staying again when next in Liverpool.

Nothing to dislike about the property or the Hosts.

Beautiful location, it isnt really affected the noise from the airport as much as I thought it might be. Its close enough to the city while still feeling like its in the countryside. The room is a good size and very well presented, super clean feel with everything you would need in a BnB. Bathroom facilities were more than acceptable, again very clean throughout, it all looks brand new. I really cant fault the room at all, there is a lovely garden you can sit in, or there is the decking outside your room with table and chairs. The parking is gated, all very secure and off the road. I will be going back in the future.

There was nothing I didnt like about the whole experience.

I regularly stay in Liverpool for my work and came across this gem of a place a couple of years ago. Love it here. It's got a rural feel but very close to the airport, very friendly hosts, nice welcome and then you have privacy, great rooms and the free continental breakfast with tea and coffee set up in your room (which has a fridge) is a real bonus. Free parking, microwave, so all in all great value, Very accommodating to my gluten-free needs too!

The wifi can be a little slow at times, but fine for email, internet browsing etc

From messaging the hosts ahead to ask for a different checkin, right through to enjoying watching the birds in the garden while having breakfast the next day, the stay was effortless and perfect. The hosts were very welcoming, without being imposing. The room was well equipt, including an iron which saved the day as I'd forgotten to iron my shirt. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was exactly what I needed the next morning and really appreciated watching blue tits on the decking with a cuppa before heading on my way. Excellent value for money!

Nothing really. Room was clean, even if odd things in need of fixing, I don't care for perfection like that. I want to feel comfortable and at home which I did straight away.

The location was amazing as even though it was very close to the city it felt like the countryside. Hale village had a lovely vibe and a great places to eat. The room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable and relaxing. The facilities were everything we needed. The best part was the Gary and Jenny, who were just as welcoming as the location. They were both down to earth and very generous. Gary gave us a lift into the village so we could enjoy a drink with our meals and picked us up. The alpacas were very cute and be able to get up close to stroke them was amazing. Having a casual chat with Gary and Jenny before we left was great too and stroking the three sweetest dogs I have met. We will definitely be staying again. Would be great for anyone visiting the city as the airport wasn't too far away either!

My partner enjoyed the cookies…when I left him some🤭 But seriously, the hosts left plenty of cereals, cereal bars, a variety of fresh fruit, tea coffee, milk then it was all topped up for the next day. Absolutely generous which you don’t get at a hotel chain. The room was spacious, clean and cosy. We had a good night sleep on a comfortable bed. Hosts greeted you on arrival and took you to your room. Very friendly.

If I was being picky, the pathway -the stones between the cobbles need topping up but considering we stayed in February we can totally appreciate that a lot of stones would have sunk into the ground or blown away. There was an alternative to walk along the decking. The hosts did pre warn us where the most slippy parts where. It’s not that bad because we will stay again.

Lovely location and a nice change from the city locations we are used to when visiting our teenage daughter at university. We were tired of staying in the city centre, amongst all of the party groups, in expensive accommodation, that wasn't to our cleaning standards, so this was a breathe of fresh air! The room and bathroom were immaculate and excellent facilities. The owners were friendly and checked that all was fine, the room was cleaned and restocked of breakfast/tea/coffee items daily. It was lovely to see the alpacas and we would like to return in Spring/Summer to explore the area better, as there seems to be plenty of walks around. We live in the countryside in an old farmhouse, and like the home from home feel, instead of the city, though Liverpool is only a short drive away, so able to see our daughter but enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. The village of Hale, is a short walk, with local shops, take away foods and public houses if required.

Only that there is no bath, and I like a good soak!

Absolutely fabulous a hidden gem great friendly owners, beautiful clean and comfortable accommodation, tea fresh coffee orange juice cereal snacks and fruit was a great touch. Can't wait to book again with my partner. I was originally from the area so I felt so proud finding this little gem in my hometown I only stayed for 1 night as I was running the Liverpool half marathon next day so wish I'd booked another night
