Very clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially housekeeping crew. Quiet within the hotel at night time, and felt homely. Fan in room for hot nights - very necessary! Breakfast was lovely and a reasonable price, and staff lovely there too!

With our room being at the front of the hotel, and a Saturday night, there was a lot of noise from people out and about in surrounding pubs and bars until around midnight. The car and motorbike noise around the same time was very loud too - with the window closed. Not the hotel's fault at all - just something to consider if you're a light sleeper and can request a room at the back.

The staff were incredibly friendly, efficient and fun. The only glitch for me was that the 7 o'clock breakfast became a 7.15 breakfast. As I had a 7.30 pick up to get to the property I was working at, I was reduced to a coffee and bacon sandwich, rather than the 'Kirky' breakfast I was looking forward to. The manager, female and I omitted to get her name, researched a number of requests I put to her, providing a clear answer. She runs a great team...Well Done Kirkfield Team

The restaurant served excellent food at dinner and breakfast. The staff were welcoming helpful & friendly.

We were upgraded to a larger room, which seemed excellent at first. However it was situated above the bar area which meant it could be noisy both at night and when staff were preparing breakfast in the morning. There was a window above the head of the bed with curtains that were too short to stop light shining on our faces early in the morning.

A very big and comfortable room. Bed was very comfy and the bathroom adequate. Breakfast offering was great and the staff all friendly and super helpful. You can make yourself a cup of tea in the room. This was our second stay.

The church bells, the church is located across the road, along with truck noise meant sleep was disrupted. Overnight parking costs in church grounds or park on the street. There is no hotel parking available. There is no lift up to the accommodation. As is usual in most places in England during winter the heating in the general spaces is always turned on 'high' and can easily become uncomfortable. Bathroom is starting to look a little tired.

Lovely old hotel with very upmarket modern feel. Everything was spotless and cosy. Bed was v comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, as was breakfast, and staff were all lovely and v professional. Garden area to the back of the restaurant was really nicely done too.

Small things but Ladies toilets on ground floor need the lock to show when engaged as people keep trying the doors so the locks are getting damaged. Also need hooks on the doors to hang handbag or coat up off the toilet floor. More importantly , the small step down into the restaurant area near the ladies toilets needs to be highlighted yellow- my elderly mother in law has poor eyesight and almost fell - I don’t have poor eyesight but still stumbled down it!!

Great Hotel with very friendly staff who could not be more helpful. Parking is located opposite in a Church Car Park that is just £6.00 for a 24 hour period. On arrival was pleased to see that the bar had 5 Cask Ales and these were fresh, local and good quality. The room exceeded expectations. It was lavishly appointed, warm, comfortable and large. Hadn't intended to eat in for dinner - but the excellent, reasonably priced menu, the large comfortable and stylish dining room changed my mind. Excellent breakfast the next day finished off my trip. Will visit again later in the year to conclude my business in the area.

We didn’t need breakfast as we were visiting family and we ate with them. Location was perfect for us as we could walk to and from our family’s home and the hotel is in a very pleasant part of Newton le Willows with a park, nice shops and cafes nearby within very easy walking distance. We have had meals at this hotel on other occasions and there is a pleasant outdoor area when weather nice and the food was good and fairly priced.

We've stayed here previously and so when we knew we had to visit Warrington again, it was a no-brainer. The rooms are simple but comfy and the breakfast is great. There are a few restaurants within walking distance so the location is great. The lady that works during breakfast is brilliant, so happy and helps to start the day n a positive note!

Advice on parking would be good, we parked around the corner of the hotel on the street.

Set at the end of Newton Village near the Church, the Kirkfield is a fantastic place to stay at or eat if you're passing. You can park over the road in the Church Car Park (£6 for 24 hours). The menu is excellent and the food really well cooked and presented. Prices are reasonable. The rooms are starting to get a little dated, but are extremely comfortable and quiet.

Tap room and restaurant area was stunning and very welcoming. Staff couldn't do enough. Lots of friendly people.

The rooms where so hot, and I mean so hot that it was uncomfortable to sleep and that was after a good few beers!! 🥵 Window as wide open as it would go as well. Would still.go back as it was so homely. Maybe air con in rooms. Which is something I thought I'd never say living around the north west! 🥶
