We were attending the Neighbourhood Weekend Festival but only purchased our tickets a month before the event. Hotel availability by this time was very limited and expensive. This hotel charged £90 for 2days, a third of the price of others with many unfavourable reviews. We consequently had low expectations and brought our own pillows and sleeping bags. They weren't necessary, although the hotel is very tired in appearance it served our purpose perfectly. The reception staff were courteous, the room and bedding clean, hot water in the bathroom and a kettle for tea and coffee making. The room was quiet and we had none of the negative experiences mentioned in other reviews.

There were still problems with the booking system which saw some guests being turned away on the day.

The young man at counter was excellent left my phone in taxi he booked me in let me use the hotel phone let me use his own personal phone and gave me fruit to eat for free as there was nothing open at 11 pm . And at 3am the taxi man came to hotel with my phone because of this young man's actions. Can't say enough good things my trip was ruined otherwise. Excellent

Facilities weren't great but I did arrive late room was fine. But the outsiders of hotel could be cleaned up a bit and a bit if paint would brighten place up but it's grand hotel my third stay in all

The staff are extremely welcoming. My room was well presents & clean. Bedding & towels are always available. Definitely will stay here again if i’m in the area.

Easy access to warrington City Centre.

It was a pleasant experience from beginning to end, the staff were very friendly and for the price it was perfect for the night

Unfortunately due to my mobility, I use multiple pillows but only issued one, I'm sure they would of accomadated more but I didn't ask so entirely my fault

Friendly, attentive staff. The room was a bit dated but spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds. Excellent value for money.

Shower was not very powerful. The room door was missing the handle on the inside. The stairwells need some attention I.e. lick of paint & new carpets.

it's always a shame when you know that the hotel your in used to be the best place in town for weddings and functions but sadly times have changed.

The location is easy to find and not an issue. Parking space is wide and always not difficult to park. Staff are polite and respectful.

nice roomy single room, friendly staff, exceptionally cheap prices, well made bed, with all the little bits, soap, shower cream, towels, toilet rolls. Tv, coffee and tea. Had a bar and served food weekdays. With a few tweaks, this could be a real gem of a place. I think some people reviewing were expecting too much for their money, I could go on about the negative aspects of my room or the hotel, but fact is, there are more positives than negatives, and if you want 5 star, I heard the Ritz is excellent, but if you want value for money, this is a great place. I would be happy to stay again.

tv remote could use sorting out, Wi-Fi was hard to pick up in my room, so maybe they need signal boosters, but other than that, all good. Where the hotel may have lacked, the staff made up for it with positive attitudes.
