Great location for Creamfields festival

The bed wasn’t very comfortable for us, probably because we are used to a super king bed As it’s spa hotel we got ready for a swim/sauna however this was under refurbishment, it would be useful if this was informed prior the booking as I believe the money paid is not worth without a running spa

The bed was big and comfy Staff on reception were lovely

Not appealing, very old and needs a good re vamp, it were not worth £360 for 2 nights.. Rooms werent amazing or very clean, bathrooms not very clean, towels had a foisty smell to them. Not enough milk to make coffees. Carpet had a big iron burn, and stains in multiple places.

Location as stayed for Creamfields

The smell- there was a terrible smell throughout the hotel The room felt discusting, stained curtains, broken old beds, leak in bathroom (reported, wasn't looked at) Rude staff Allowing music load till 6am Told could bring dogs, drove 2 hours tried to say we couldn't leave Being warned by locals inc taxis they wouldn't stay their, has gone down hill especially after it has been used for housing asylum seekers, kicked out days before we arrived. Stuff put into containers on a car park (which had terrible smell near to) No spa as advertised

Was the closest hotel to the festival(Creamfields )we attended, that was within walking distance.

There was no spa available, the pool was closed down however this was not stated anywhere when booking. The hotel was housing refugees so was very busy/noisy in the lobby due to this. The taxi company who I believe work for the hotel due to their signs / cards being in the lobby lied to us by stating they would drop us off at the entrance of the festival for £10, but dropped us 25 minutes walk away!! Went to reception to ask for clean towels/fresh water as our stay was for 2 nights but they denied us and tried to charge us for water. Just overall a very ran down hotel and ‘spa’ considering they told us they’d been closed for 5 years for ‘refurbishing’ our shower was broken so not sure what they’ve been doing in that time. Overall a very poor experience!

Did it have breakfast

The Manager, as my son and I travelled 4 hours by car. Once arrived the hotel had people sitting with hanging legs out of the windows. Lots of children grouped outside I thought this is strange. Got to check in and was told the Government had used the Hotel for asylum seekers, so was told we couldn’t stay. The conformation came 2 days before and again week before today look fed to us coming. Apparently this hotel was putting up the asylum seekers for 3 weeks. I was not informed of this and had no where to stay for the next 2 nights. The lady was nice on reception but I asked to speak to Manger who 3 times said he was in a very important meeting. As i was unhappy and had no where to stay. Expecting him to help but he said it was booking.com fault and nothing he could do. He was extremely unhelpful and passed too book back to the lady onto reception as he in a extremely important meeting. So clearly his meeting was far more important than me and my 12 year old son who in good faith expected to have a comfortable stay away together. The lady helped with other hotels but we struggled as holidays and all full up. One hotel kindly let us stay in a room which wasn’t serviceable as needed work. It was very stressful situation to be put in with a young child. The Manager was dreadful and unhelpful apparently the hotel I stayed in said if something happens even if a customer has booked through another service their Management informs them to call people to confirm they are aware. Very upset and was very stressful time driving around in an area not aware of.
