We really enjoyed the pool, sauna and steamroom after a long walk earlier in the day. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. We ate dinner in the restaurant, and it was delicious, although I suspect it depended on what you ordered. The vegetarian offering was a bit everyday food compared with the rest of the fairly fancy menu, but priced accordingly. We had the salmon which was very good.

The decor would be hugely improved by some plants hanging over the walk ways and in the spa area, but that's just my personal view and taste

The gym was amazing, and the pool area, steam room and sauna, were also really nice The room was spacious The food in the restaurant was excellent (evening meal) and breakfast was lovely The car parking was excellent

The changing rooms in the gym would really benefit from a spin dryer for wet swim suits The music in the gym could do with being turned down The room could have done with some more plug sockets and some better tea/coffee facilities, biscuits, better shampoo/conditioner etc... Hotel guest sat down playing movies (or similar) on phone/tablet whilst eating at the dinner table in the main part of the restaurant during evening meal (could have been politely asked to turn it off, as it ruins the atmosphere)

Excellent location and grounds just off the M6 junction - but not so close for traffic noise. Easy free parking right outside reception entrance. Impressive modern architecture and decor. Very friendly staff and nice welcome. Room size ok and not too far from Reception although suspect some rooms are. Bennetts restaurant served an excellent dinner made with care and attention. Impressively tasty innovative dishes. Highly recommended and good value for a hotel restaurant.

Reception staff should have told us more about amenities including large spa and gym, swimming pool etc. No offer to book for dinner or information about breakfast times. 'Superior' Double room was a little disappointing, as was clean and tidy but ordinary and soulless with poor design elements including remote plug points (e.g. none beside bedside tables and bathroom light switch on opposite wall). Worst of all normal size double bed and really stupid old school 'security' hangers (just charge those that steal them) and way too small a cupboard and no chest of drawers. Wifi too slow other than for email. Shower poor for a 'superior' room.

Hotel was very nice, well staffed and had amazing facilities. Spa and swimming is perfect for family trips. Pricing was great. Room service was very good, food was excellent. The room was huge! very well organised and lots of space for little ones to run round.

The little details are missed, cleaning under toilet seat, carpet stains, and wall protector missing. Having a fridge would be an excellent addition to the room, and a bigger TV. But overall 9/10 stay for us. Would come back!

The eggs were not great, and I requested fruit and granola which wasn’t provided. I was very disappointed in this aspect of my stay, so much so I did not have breakfast on the second morning as it felt overpriced for what was brought to the room. Such a shame

Pool open early and big. Cleanest hotel I've been to. Hotel is in a good area and just off motorway. The staff remember you. Big car park. Tasty breakfast. Quietest hotel I've been to, you don't hear any other guests and the traffic noise is acceptable.

The TV took at least half an hour to start working, was unwatchable due to bad reception/signal. There was no bath, just a shower. Pillow was very thick and hard, good for some people but I barely slept.

Excellent breakfast. Superb bartenders. Wonderful room. Was there for a week or more and never grew tired of the ambience and friendly service.

They ran an alarm test at about 7:30 in the morning IN THE BLOODY RAIN. I refused to go and stand out side getting wet but dozens of other residents did so and came in soaked. STUPID and THOUGHTLESS

Great hotel, location, rooms very nice and quiet. Have stayed in this hotel a number of times over the years as handy to visit relations in Wigan.

Breakfast was a bit basic with limited choice for the price. The basic english cooked breakfast was fine but the contential choices was poor. Would liked to of seen more bread types, rolls, cheese, fruit, pastries, and scrambled eggs! It was a busy Sunday morning, with the morning after wedding guests, but a couple more top-ups of coffee would of been appreciated.

Lovely welcome at reception, staff were so nice and the room was spotless - housekeeping staff should be commended. The bed linens were so fresh they smelled as though they'd been dried on a washing line, and I slept like a log. Superb gym, pool and sauna, and lovely location - so peaceful. Decent check-out time, too. Will definitely stay again.

Breakfast was a buffet but very tasty and drinks were made and brought to us. Dinner was superb although a little pricey. Spa facilities were great and room was comfortable.

Air con in room didn’t seem to make it cool despite showing 16 degrees. The day had been exceptionally hot though. We would have appreciated a bottle of water in the room.
