The room was very spacious, although the shower itself was quite small. A nice view looking into the garden and the hotel is ideally situated in a leafy Lancashire lane. Although I did not try the gym and spa, while previously living in the area for many years, I was a member for about twenty years and know that it is a high quality and the swimming pool is just lovely. My first return to the area for five years and this hotel was my first choice.

Nothing really. If I was picky I would say that the TV and some of the utilities in the room are a little dated but, compared to the value, this was more than acceptable. The shower is small so a large person might struggle, but the bathroom itself is a reasonable size. Note the whole room was a good size.

We really enjoyed the pool, sauna and steamroom after a long walk earlier in the day. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. We ate dinner in the restaurant, and it was delicious, although I suspect it depended on what you ordered. The vegetarian offering was a bit everyday food compared with the rest of the fairly fancy menu, but priced accordingly. We had the salmon which was very good.

The decor would be hugely improved by some plants hanging over the walk ways and in the spa area, but that's just my personal view and taste

A hotel is an hotel pretty much. It was clean, efficient and absolutely fit for purpose with nice garden and communal spaces. The food was absolutely fine. The exceptional part of our stay was the staff. They were absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, they were pleasant and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a good time. And we did! Result!! Oh - and it was the best gym we've ever had in an hotel.

Breakfast - just snazz it up a bit.

The changing rooms in the gym would really benefit from a spin dryer for wet swim suits The music in the gym could do with being turned down The room could have done with some more plug sockets and some better tea/coffee facilities, biscuits, better shampoo/conditioner etc... Hotel guest sat down playing movies (or similar) on phone/tablet whilst eating at the dinner table in the main part of the restaurant during evening meal (could have been politely asked to turn it off, as it ruins the atmosphere)

Excellent location and grounds just off the M6 junction - but not so close for traffic noise. Easy free parking right outside reception entrance. Impressive modern architecture and decor. Very friendly staff and nice welcome. Room size ok and not too far from Reception although suspect some rooms are. Bennetts restaurant served an excellent dinner made with care and attention. Impressively tasty innovative dishes. Highly recommended and good value for a hotel restaurant.

Reception staff should have told us more about amenities including large spa and gym, swimming pool etc. No offer to book for dinner or information about breakfast times. 'Superior' Double room was a little disappointing, as was clean and tidy but ordinary and soulless with poor design elements including remote plug points (e.g. none beside bedside tables and bathroom light switch on opposite wall). Worst of all normal size double bed and really stupid old school 'security' hangers (just charge those that steal them) and way too small a cupboard and no chest of drawers. Wifi too slow other than for email. Shower poor for a 'superior' room.

Friendly welcome. Lovely twin bedded room. Very clean. Toiletries good. Had nearly everything we needed. Other facilities available but not needed by us. Great place to stay if being admitted to Wrightington Hospital early in the morning. Taxi arrived and the journey didn't take long at all. All stress free.

Ran out of milk to put in drinks very quickly. Luckily we had brought a pint with us. No fridge to keep it chilled though.

A lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Staff were keen to help, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant - Bennett's - was excellent as was Blazer's club lounge. Would certainly return.

During my stay there was work being carried out and for less mobile people rather too many stairs to bedrooms, especially with luggage.

Hotel was very nice, well staffed and had amazing facilities. Spa and swimming is perfect for family trips. Pricing was great. Room service was very good, food was excellent. The room was huge! very well organised and lots of space for little ones to run round.

The little details are missed, cleaning under toilet seat, carpet stains, and wall protector missing. Having a fridge would be an excellent addition to the room, and a bigger TV. But overall 9/10 stay for us. Would come back!

It is a beautiful place in very nice surroundings. The rooms were nice and clean.

It was an exceptionally hot day and no air con was provided for the wedding. I understand it was a heatwave, but it was unbearable most of the time.

I ordered room service breakfast on the first morning as I was alone. It cost £15. Unfortunately this was not worth the cost. The eggs were not great, and I requested fruit and granola which wasn’t provided. I was very disappointed in this aspect of my stay, so much so I did not have breakfast on the second morning as it felt overpriced for what was brought to the room. Such a shame
