The room was beautifully appointed with a smart TV and loads of other amenities, a gorgeous free standing bath, that I took advantage of and a lovely period charm. Its so close to the walks and very easy to find. Staff were friendly and helpful and could not do enough for us. The food in Dexters was stunning. An excellent place to stay and explore the beautiful scenery.
That the hotel did not open till 3pm, we would have liked to check-in and leave our luggage in the room. Would have been nice if they were open for lunch. It was unusual that the staff are not on premises overnight, but not necessarily a bad thing.

The room was really comfortable and stylish. Plenty of space for me and great set up e.g. TV, coffee/tea items and small fridge. The water pressure was good considering I was on the top floor. Immaculately clean. The staff were really down to earth, approachable and helpful. Loved all my meals; burger, eggs Benedict's (thank you Morag) and my Welsh breakfast (thank you Chef!).
There could be a little more shelving in the bathroom for toiletries/make-up etc. The bath-shower wasn't an issue but I would have preferred to have a walk in shower if I had known. One of the handles on the chest of drawers was broken so difficult to open.

An absolutely amazing stay, the staff in the hotel and Dexters restaurant are fantastic, very friendly and helpful and made sure our stay was perfect. The food and dining experience in dexters restaurant is outstanding. The breakfast is cooked to perfection, we stayed for three nights and every morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Dinner is amazing, I highly recommend the steaks, they are cooked beautifully. We stayed in a superior room and it was fantastic. The decor and finishing touches in the rooms and in the hotel are lovely, well equipped and very clean. Overall, I highly recommend staying at Browns and dining in Dexters and we will absolutely visit again.

Everything. Location, hotel. Restaurant. Room had all that was needed. Bed was cosy and comfortable. Meals were exceptional. Only thing we would change is not have the room up three flights of stairs, also was unable yo park car in carpark, or out the front of hotel. Had to find parking space down the road.
Only thing we would change is not to have the room up three flights of stairs As I have mobility issues. Was unable to park car in carpark, or out the front of hotel. Had to find parking space down the road, slight issue as I have mobility issues. Couldn't even use my blue badge to park near. Then had to walk up several flights of uneven steps to get to room. (I should have advised the hotel when booking).

Excellent dinner in Dexter's restaurant on site; and superb breakfast. Room a little smaller than expected, and disappointed at restocking overnight - no fresh bottle of water, no biscuits. Small things, but at this level, you expect the small things to be right. The bar had a poor selection of beers. A choice of a couple of good cask ales would be more than welcome, and a poor selection of whiskies.
The bar was mostly given over to diners, and had a poor selection of beers. A choice of a couple of good cask ales would be more than welcome, and a poor selection of whiskies. If you were just drinking, it meant shuttling off to the lounge, which was a bit lacking in atmosphere.

The evening meal was really delicious . Decor fabulous. The welcome was warm & friendly. The bedroom was beautiful. Can’t fault the hotel. We will definitely come again.
The whole property is beautiful. But will just mention a little problem …..that in our room the bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a hallway and the bedroom door is a particularly heavy fire door. This made it quite difficult to move into the bathroom quietly during the night. Does the bedroom door need to be a fire door? Plus the low bathroom ceiling & beam proved quite difficult for my very tall husband. We would probably need to ask for a different room next time.

Resturant and bar lovely, close to Ty Glo ( sister restaurant and bar) for a different experience.Steaks in Dexters fabulous and good value compared to some city centre restaurants. Parking at rear of hotel was perfect for our stay Short walk down to the castle -quite a surreal experience at night -stars stunning. Lovely walks in the area-just do a bit of homework.
The Strand was a beautiful room equipped with a heater and large fans -as it was warm by day and cold at night-however the shower cubicle door kept closing in on one when the shower was occupied which was a nuisance.I did highlight this when checking out so I expect this has been rectified now.

Lovely place and warm welcome and stay for 2 nights. Very clean hotel throughout. Picked a single room (Taf) on a budget with some additional discount. Managed to park at rear which was good as past reviews said it can be a bit of a lottery to get a space. Quiet even with a bar and restaurant below my room. Loved the old features even the little slant to the floor in the room. It was a large single not like some others I’ve stayed in and nearly fallen out of bed lol.
TV wasn’t functioning properly nor the remote. Wiring exposed and messy with was in clear view. Iron and ironing board could do with replacement. All just needs a little bit of attention.

The Breakfast was excellent The Steak Dinner was exceptional The staff were very helpful Over riding all this... I imagine that a majority of tourists go to Laugharn for one reason - Dylan Thomas. If so, then the place one might wish to stay the most would be The Brown's. It does not disappoint... it is classy and stylish; not too expensive; and everything a Dylan fan might hope for.
It is still a pub / hotel in the high street and as such on a Friday / Saturday night, there is likely to be noise from outside. We chose the first Friday of the month, there the pub next door (The Three Mariners!) were holding their Kareoke night. This being Wales, it was actually quite entertaining!

It's a relaxed, comfortable hotel. Very atmospheric, with lots of history. It was one of Dylan Thomas, the poets favourite places. The room was spacious, and had a mini fridge, which was very useful. There was a fantastic period bathroom. The staff were all lovely. They kindly acknowledged we were celebrating a birthday and put two small bottles of Prosecco and biscuits in our room. Dexters restaurant served great food.
Would have liked breakfasts to be served just a little longer. Would have liked more choice - veggie or some chicken on the menu A lift would have been helpful as we were on the top floor, with lots of stairs.
