Housekeeping were fantastic, provided extra pillows and bedding and the room was clean.

This Hotel is Cashless everywhere including in the bar (because of Covid). This needs to be made much clearer in the booking.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I felt safe, and I loved the facilities in particular the pool and spar. The staff are friendly, and the food was pretty good. As a lone female traveller, it was great. When the sun is shining the place is stunning and it's wonderful to sit out on the terrace in the sun, admiring the view with a nice beverage. I loved breakfast and their chicken caesar salads!

I was on the ground floor, golf facing, I didn't like people playing golf walking past my hotel room window. I felt conscious at first, they were not peering into the room of course, but to begin with, it was a bit unnerving. Day 2 it didn't bother me, I just realised that a lot of people don't need to work and spend most of their days playing golf.

Lovely receptionists on the front desk who were very helpful. The setting was beautiful. The swimming pool area was nice, although limited beds to relax on. The Aura Spa was lovely and Phoebe was a wonderful therapist and I had a lovely massage experience from her. Bar staff and resturant staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed.

No air conditioning in our room. It was boiling hot. It was a busy day/ evening as there was a small golf tournament and a prom going on so there should have been more bar staff and restaurant staff. The poor staff that were there worked so hard and kept smiling throughout but the queue at the bar for lunch and dinner took a while and tables were not emptied of dirty plates. We had to clear our own table for somewhere to sit. This was also the case at breakfast. Also the wasps were a big issue outside.

Room was clean and decor lovely.. bed was huge and very comfortable. Staff in reception and bar all very friendly and helpful and catered well for my gluten free needs with breakfast and dinner. The pool /spa facilities are an extra bonus, very clean changing rooms with toiletries and hairdryers and straighteners for your use. Also gave me a voucher for a free drink as I let them know it was my birthday… nice touch ..obviously caters for golf but if you don’t play( we don’t) it’s still a lovely resort.

My husband was given the wrong meal at dinner, and although they offered to change it, there was a party of 20golfers being catered for so it was unfortunate for us that we had already waited half hour for it, so he ate it. The jacuzzi in the pool area was boiling hot! Hotter than I would have a bath!! Lots of people couldn’t handle it .. far too hot.

Beautiful decor, excellent customer service, lovely pool and spa facilities, and the massages were amazing. Beautiful scenery, very accessible. Great list of things to do nearby, so we went to visit other places also. TV channels, apps, and Wi-Fi worked with ease. We liked the adults' time only in the pool, it is peaceful and quiet, and open early and til late.

The fire alarm went off in the morning for a few seconds and frightened us out of our sleep. Can hear footsteps of the room above. There was visible dust in the headboard and cobwebs in the corners, which we cleaned off. Maybe the room hadn't been used in a while. The rest was all good, no complaints

We stayed for our anniversary and were greeted with a lovely card and a complimentary drink of our choice at the bar, which was a lovely touch.. a little hard to find, but once found, it was easy, but you definitely need a car to go out and about if you're not planning on staying on the hotel grounds.. the facilities where lovely got a little busier in the afternoon but still managed to use everything and had everything you needed in the changing rooms, including hair dryers & straighteners.. breakfast was lovely big portions, and what was even better was that it was freshly made. The only negative thing is that we booked the deluxe room, which was very spacious and clean (being a clean freak, this was a must) so can't complain about the actual room but the beds were 2 single ones made up together and you could feel the indent in the bed and having arthritis in my back made it a very uncomfortable 2 nights sleep.. other than that, we had a lovely stay!

The room was spacious and had a large bed. It was well stocked with tea and coffee, the shower was ok, not the greatest of pressure. The pool and spa area was our highlight, the breakfast was fairly good. The grounds are nice and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Mattress was a little on the hard side but no huge complaints we slept well for one night stay. The noise from the grass cutter, cleaning staff and fire alarm was a bit of a morning shock. This place is fine for the early riser. A tip off about the fire alarm would have been nice to know just so we could expect it’s

Breakfast was good. Location, We woke up Sunday morning to quiet nature, rabbits, birds etc on the golf course. We were in room 6, so had a lovely view from the grounds. Aircraft and golfers didn't arrive/ weren't heard until gone 9am. Bed was really comfortable and clean. We wished we'd booked for another night and stay in bed longer! Plenty of hot water for bathing/showering, and the whole room and bathroom was very clean. Clean bins. Plenty of storage, for personal.belongings. comfortable chairs 2 of them. WiFi , TV, radiators and kettle worked well.

We feel that the room and bathroom requires freshening up/ painting. And so do the walls in the room and bathroom door.

Most of the spaces have been refurbished to a high standard. The staff were all helpful, friendly and lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely with a good amount of non gluten alternatives and things that could be made vegan from the vegetarian options. All food was freshly prepared to order for breakfast, which we also liked.

We would have liked a safe in the room. When accessing the health suite and spa, we didn't want to take all of our personal belongings with us. Although there are lockers, we preferred to keep stuff in our room. Access to a safe would have helped our personal belongings feel more secure.

We liked that the hotel and main reception area was separate, as you were not really disturbed by too much noise. Although, we were on the ground floor by the entrance so we did get a few loud door slams before bed. The pool/sauna facilities were good (expected from the reviews we read), and we liked that there were times for families, so we could go when it was quieter.

Nothing we didnt like, if you're looking for a very chill/relaxed staycay with some spa facilities, and a small trip to Colchester/Chelmsford to venture out then yes this is the place. Probably max 2-3 days here.
