The cleanliness and comfort of the room was top notch. Although "attached" to a put, it is a "separate building" on the side which makes it easier to block the sound and doesn't require going up narrow sets of stairs. They have plenty of space for young children to play and run around and a massive field on the back for a nice morning look out of the window. Plenty of parking. Staff was excellent in every way.

Mattress could be better (down to preference I suppose). Bathroom shower box is a bit narrow and the doors only swing outside making the floor very wet, tricky with young children. The sink is tiny. You can hear cars going by

Beautiful area, gorgeous room, lovely off street parking and well kept gardens surrounding this pub and new accommodation added to the original building. Meals were delicious and I saw the local food suppliers bringing their meal and produce for guests to eat, very commendable The staff were exceptionally friendly and fully representative of the diverse community, some with their own health issues so I applaud the manager for employing the lovely cleaner I met having my breakfast on the morning I left, she did a Really good job 👍. As a health professional I have to say this pub honestly had the nicest disabled toilet that I have ever encountered….fully Part M compliant too and very attractive too. The only minor issue was the inclined access to the external door….which is ok for a fit, self propelling manual wheelchair user or a powered wheelchair user, or otherwise an attendant would be required to help push the wheelchair user into the room….be that a carer or relative travelling with them

The horribly busy A120 road….its a shame that there is no bypass past this historic building, as this lovely pub/hotel is definitely worth a visit and has been beautifully renovated too.

The room was spacious, immaculate with excellent facilities even a mini fridge for drinks/milk. Bed was very comfy. Shower was great, easily controllable as was the heating. Room was at the back away from the road. We would not have stayed at the front - the road is incredibly busy so the road noise at night would have kept us awake. Breakfast choice was excellent. pancakes and full English both tried and delicious. Evening meals looked great and was busy but we were not able to try because of other plans. Spacious car park. Location is minutes away from shops and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.

The road can't be helped, but just be very careful when joining it, the traffic is fast so take care.

We’re so incredibly grateful to all the staff at The Kings Arms for their exceptional service. We had accidentally booked the right dates… just for the wrong year! Thankfully, the wonderful team couldn’t have been more accommodating and quickly sorted everything out for us. Our stay was absolutely beautiful from start to finish. We dined in the restaurant that evening, and the food was nothing short of stunning – as was the breakfast the next morning. We stayed in two deluxe rooms and one upstairs room – all beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and stylishly modern. The beds were so comfortable, and the views were lovely. Despite the hotel being on the main road, our rooms at the back overlooked peaceful fields, giving us a feeling of being completely tucked away. Thank you so much to everyone at The Kings Arms – you made our stay so special, and we can’t wait to return.

Nothing, we loved everything!

The King's Arms was easy to find and immaculately presented inside and out. We booked the family room, and there was plenty of space for three adults. The hotel is situated in a semi rural area with a large field at the back near the car park. In the courtyard, there is outdoor seating and a play park for children. The room had a sofa bed, double bed, kitchenette, fridge, tea/coffee facilities TV among other modcons. The room was more like a beautifully presented 1 bedroom apartment than a hotel room. There is free WiFi throughout the property and plenty of sockets for plugging in phones, hair straighteners etc. Bathroom had a high quality finish and was supplied with toiletries and towels. Pictures truly didn't do the room justice. We were very pleased and had a great night's sleep. The breakfast was also fantastic quality and included in our room rate. We opted for the full English. The mini hashbrowns were incredible! The whole hotel and bar team were very friendly and accommodating and made our wonderful stay even more memorable. I will definitely return if I need accommodation in the area again.

I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels, inns, B&Bs and guesthouses across the UK for work, and I can’t remember a place that was so friendly. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly attentive, always smiling and generally couldn’t do enough for us. The room itself was warm (on a freezing February day), clean, nice size and well appointed. The food was absolutely superb, with huge portions and very tasty. Overall it was a superb stay and when I’m next in Essex, I will undoubtedly be staying again

I’d have to be really picky to find something I didn’t like. Perhaps the showers head could do with a bit of descale but other than that, it was a pretty perfect stay

This is a lovely old pub which has added on a series of newly built bedrooms, equipped to a very high standard and looking out over fields. The food was good quality and there were a reasonable choice of meals. Staff were friendly and helpful but some were a bit lacking in experience. We enjoyed our stay.

Facing the busy A120, it was difficult at times to join the main road, especially if you wanted to turn right across a stream of traffic. There was a lot of road noise - but it did not impact on the bedrooms which were well soundproofed and facing away from the road.

The room was comfortable and clean. Emma was outstanding - very helpful - she even found me a plug for my phone. The food was delicious. The only thing was free breakfast was only cereal, fruit and yoghurts. I was expected even to pay for coffee. All other breakfast options including just toast were extra. This is not a big deal as was not particularly hungry after outstanding meal from the night before which I cannot fault but they do advertise Breakfast included and feel this is somewhat misleading.

Comfortable, informal environment. It balances professional service with a home from home feel. Dog friendly and welcoming. Good, well presented food and plenty of choice to suit different tastes and diets. Breakfast menu is particularly impressive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking space and a large grassy area at the back.

Whilst situated on a busy main road, the traffic noise was not an issue with bedrooms at the back of the property. It was just a bit of a challenge getting out of the car park and on to the road at busy times. Coggeshall itself is a 5 minute drive away.

This is such a lovely hotel. We stayed here as we had a wedding not far from it. The staff were incredibly friendly and even recommended a wonderful taxi company to pre book with because its difficult getting taxis in the area as its so remote. They even accommodated us checking in early too which we were so grateful for. Our cooked breakfast was so delicious, all fresh produce. You could really taste the freshness. Absolutely A* service from every staff member. Rooms were so modern too..our room had a beautiful morning view. Would love to come back and stay here again if we are ever in the area

Only downside is they don't offer prosecco by the glass [it was by the bottle] so couldn't have a drink before we left for the wedding. Although the carpet was hoovered, it was quite dirty and looked like it needed more of a deep clean. Extra pillows on the bed would be great too
