Great Breakfast

It’s a terrible shame I booked via booking.com and I would recommend if visiting customers book directly. The hotel is great, really beautiful but Booking.com charged 50% more and refused to price match . I would recommend the hotel remove themselves from booking.com site.

The views from the hotel were outstanding. Friendliness of all the staff and all so helpful. Food very good Spa facilities excellent

Stay was wonderful. Only thing was having to pay extra £30 each for spa. Little bit pricey with the cost of the room already, however enjoyed very much

- bit more cleaner eg. few cob webs here and there but not an issue - Interior eg. update sofa, and chairs. bigger tv for size of room - Not much information on the spa, land rover experience, archery etc. more information needed in the handbook or a separate book. not as clear what is included and not as clear that the drinks on the spa are an additional price. Maybe an online system to book the spa or book restaurant reservations instead of phoning

The hotel location is stunning, the view from the room too, it was unbelievable. The walk around the lake is easy, and so peaceful. The wildlife is a beautiful example of how well looked after the land is, and how the wildlife is thought about in the landscape. The breakfast buffet was vast, and the catering for my friends gluten free needs was good. The staff in McCleods bar were brilliant, friendly, efficient and a laugh.

The breakfast wasn't amazing. The pancakes were disappointing, definitely not light and fluffy. The avocado was more like guacamole, not great for breakfast. The staff in the outside bar area were a bit lax sometimes. Blankets in the evenings for outside would be good, a nice little touch.

Breakfast and Dinner was of the standard expected. However although the Hotel is dog friendly I was not happy that dogs were allowed in the dining room whilst people were eating etc. Although as one would expect apart from the hygiene aspect they are not under control ie barking etc. This detracted from the enjoyment of the break.

The location is absolutely stunning, and the staff were great throughout. Nice bar, good food. The room was clean with good facilities.

It will be a preference thing, but I found the bed hard and uncomfortable, slept quite badly. It was two single mattresses put together with a topper. I didn't think the breakfast was worth the additional money (added at the hotel so possibly more expensive that way) - it was tasty, but small portions of the hot food (can have unlimited continental too), and the restaurant was very busy

Everything. We have stayed before and love it. This visit was special as e we chose it for our wedding overnight stay. Staff has left a bottle and congratulations card in the room which was a wonderful touch. The view from the beautiful bedroom was glorious. The spa was wonderful, the view magnificent when you are in the outdoor hot tub. Staff in the restaurant brought us a glass of bubbly to celebrate our special day. We will be back

Nothing. We may not eat in the view restaurant next time as the quality has been a little disappointing the last couple of times but not enough to spill our trip at all.

Great hotel for my location, Breakfast superb, evening meal slighly expensive but was very good quality. However you can have the bar menu in the restaurant which was excellent and View from the main resteraunt in the am is wonderful. Club sandwich in Bar is huge, great quality and value however bar a little on the small side could be slighly larger but again can use the main resteraunt which has a great feature fire in the centre. Great staff especially the Manager at Breakfast who was superb

As explained above the hotel is in a great location, wonderful views, great staff, clean, warm, free slippers and robes in room also a robe that fits me a rarity even in the Marriott, CP or HI.

Beautiful location. The staff are AMAZING we did not meet one staff member that wasn’t obliging, polite and friendly. They seem very invested in the hotel and look happy to be at work, it makes the atmosphere lovely within the hotel. The spa was wonderful and so relaxing and the lake side walk on a frosty morning was just stunning. Food was fab, breakfast excellent and we had an all round superb stay.

The room was not as big as I’d expected based on website images. So when I book again, which is inevitable because I am so keen to return, I will need to be clearer about what I am booking. I’d love a rear balconied room.

The grounds were abaolutley lovely for an evening walk and felt very relaxing and secluded. We were very pleased by being able to bring our dog that was very helpful. We did wonder if we'd been given a smaller slightly more dated room as we had a dog but it was fine for what we needed it for. The spa was amazing.

We were a bit frustrated by the resturant staff. At check in we asked if we could go for dinner that night at the resturant and we were told yes, no need to book. Then a few hours later the resturant said 'there's no space'. The woman at front of house was quite unapologetic and didn't seem to care too much that we had been told one thing and we're experiencing another which didn't feel great. Eventually it was sorted and we came back the next night but this did mean a last minute change of plan which involved us getting a taxi to the next town. I just would have used the front of house staff to have apologised for the mix up. The front of hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly . Otherwise our stay was great and the food was great.
