The hotel is a lovely place to stay in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. This historic and traditional Inn has a traditional bar area which welcomes visitors with warmth. The guest rooms are tastefully modernized and well decorated in a contemporary style and well maintained. All of the bedroom linens, towels bathroom supplies etc. are of the highest quality, and the whole facility is spotless.The staff gave us a warm welcome and did everything possible to make our stay pleasant. The breakfast service was very generous, well cooked, presented and of good value. Dinner was of first class big city quality, served well and at very reasonable cost for the culinary quality of the meals. Car parking was very convenient, and the location perfect for touring the Dales.

Nothing to dislike about the Fountaine Inn

The room was a good size and very pheasant. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was modern . All was very clean. Nice assortment of hot beverage options left in room with a hot water kettle and biscuits. A little fridge downstairs in the main entrance which contains milk, which is replenished daily Breakfast served was superb with many options and they are very flexible if you have changes you would like to make. We also took advantage of the Inn for our dinners on a few occasions and the food was delicious.

The location is excellent, the people friendly - staff and locals alike. We had breakfast and evening meal both nights & food was excellent. Room was a good size. Bed was comfortable

We couldn’t lower the thermostat in the room and it was very warm. The parking is difficult, there was nowhere to park when we first arrive but a member of staff was just leaving so we managed to get her space. On the second day it was worse. We parked where we could and moved closer to pub when it was less busy.

Great food. Huge portions… would have asked for smaller portion of fish and chips if I’d realised. Hate wasting food. Nice traditional pub, cosy fires, friendly staff, great beer and good choice of non alcoholic drinks. Hadn’t realised our room was outside the pub building but it was very comfortable, warm, and well equipped. Always great to get access to fresh milk for our tea.

Room was fab! We stayed in the Loft and the roll top bath was a lovely surprise. The bed was big and comfy. The location was lovely and picturesque, with a little bridge and stream directly outside the hotel. It is a short drive from both Grassington village which has some nice shops and tea rooms, and Skipton where we visited the market! Breakfast and evening meal were good quality. We had the rump steak and the steak pie and both were really good.

There were some minor things that happened, such as breakfast order coming wrong but we didn’t have time to dispute this. Also we were advised to help ourselves to milk from the fridge but this was not stocked for the duration of our stay - but we did get nice cold water from it! :)

Breakfast was good there was plenty of choice. The location was excellent and only a short walk to the falls and to Grassington. The room was lovely and comfortable.

Not sleeping near the extraction fan of the kitchen as it was noisy and we like fresh air. The only thing that spoiled our evening meal was the frozen chips.

Loved the decor in the studio room. Small but good use of space. Bar and restaurant were excellent. Great choice at breakfast. Choice of small or large portion on some of dinner meals. Seating outside overlooking the green and the river. Idyllic location.

The Fontaine Inn is a very popular pub in the Yorkshire Dales. We stayed in a room behind the pub. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with a modern, well equipped bathroom. Food at the pub was excellent with lots of choice and local beers.

The lights in the bedroom flickered, which was annoying.

Beautiful rural location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food and drinks delicious. Rooms clean and stylish. Bed was exceptionally comfortable.

Quite tricky to find parking, especially since the the Inn seems so popular.

Beautiful location to enjoy a quiet drink on the green by the stream. Lovely rooms. Delicious breakfast! We had a great evening meal there too.

Some rugs would be great, as the floors were very cold. I assume the floors in the upstairs rooms are hard too, as we were woken at 6am to someone wandering around their room - this continued for a couple of hours & meant we couldn't get back to sleep. The extractor fan in our shower room didn't work.
