Love it’s seafront location, although it is quite a walk into town. We usually hire mobility scooters for members of the party with mobility difficulties. The staff were brilliant in allocating rooms very close to the elevators and most staff were very generous in helping with access to a storage area for the scooters and charging them. Only one member of staff was a little difficult about the access, but I was informed he was new. In terms of usual hotel requests, the staff can’t do enough and are pleasant, the rooms are spacious and clean and pets are welcome.
Breakfast wasn’t available. The walk into town but this is negligible when you consider the good points. On the whole - no real dislikes, which is why we have stayed here a number of times.

Dog friendly. Exceptionally reasonable price. Sea front location in the centre of all the activities. Very large room. Spacious bathroom with shower. Plenty of hot water. Clean and comfy room. Table and two chairs at the window. Large table with kettle etc. TV. Large built in wardrobe. Iron and ironing board. Nicely decorated
This is a three star hotel so don't expect 5 star standard. Bedroom carpet could do with a clean. Restaurant is not in use but plenty of cafes / restaurants within 2 minutes walk. Sara's tearooms do a great breakfast and is dog friendly. They are doing their best to maintain standards. AND - I would definitely use this hotel again!

The first room we were allocated was still being cleaned as the bin was on the bed and there were bits on the floor. When I raised this with reception, they gave us a new room. In here the TV was lying on the floor and I had to move it onto the table and connect it all up. Apart from this, the room was perfect. Shower & toilet worked fine as did all fittings. Hotel was nice & quiet and the staff were really helpful. Access to the town & beach is right on the doorstep.
They seem to have an issue with the cleaning staff as I heard another customer mention that their room hadn't been cleaned.

A very impressive Victorian building, great views of the sea, close to Wellington Pier, access to open-top bus and land train for travelling “up and down” the Golden Mile, and everything a holiday destination can offer doesn’t fail to deliver. Very pleasant rooms, comfortable beds, great en suite facilities, TV/Coffee making facilities and friendly staff.
In the evening, once the buses and trains had stopped running, walking back to the hotel in the evening could be very tiring and you get approached by beggars asking for spare change.

Really nice and friendly - everyone was lovely and it’s a nice convenient location on the seafront
It’s showing signs of being dated, some of the floors are very uneven, the carpets are patchy from damage over the years. The bedroom was very warm when we arrived and we couldn’t turn the heating off ourselves - but they helped us to do it. The windows looked over an industrial courtyard which meant being woken very early by the bin men twice in our week stay, and pigeons being very loud right outside our window too. Our room didn’t have a bath, and the shower was nice but a little cramped. Plus the toilet roll we were given was absolutely useless, the rolls didn’t last long and we had to keep asking for more. Really felt the penny pinching there!

It was cozy and vintage in the room we stayed in we slept like logs was warm and pretty clean there is free parking out front but locals use it as place to park so mid day have fun trying to park 😁 overall it was good and peaceful relaxing was nice to get back to basics I just expected it to be better
The curtains in the room where barely hanging on wobbly AF there was a booger on the wall paint was peeling in places very old and kinda rundown bathroom roof was peeling off no smart TV TV was tiny only 24" I get that we got a cheap small room but there's no reason to not make it nice and up to date we paid more here than last place and last place was very modern

The hotel's pre order dinner menu is brilliant, it's so nice to go into the dining room at a set time with other hotel guests, and see how other people's holidays are. I talked to a few people. That felt very traditional. The room was superb for a single that I booked very last minute. The staff were brilliant too. And the tiles in the lift are gorgeous.
Nothing. The whole two day stay was a dream!

I was pleasantly surprised by the room after reading some not so great reviews. I found the hotel and room to be perfect. The room was clean, shower powerful and working well. Beds comfy. We asked for a walk in shower and were given this very last minute so thank you. I have no idea why people left this hotel poor reviews, it exceeded our expectations and was very reasonably priced considering we booked last minute at peak time. Highly recommend and would stay again. Thank you.
The only negative thing is my mum struggled a bit with the stairs into the hotel, when I called up before booking they con firmed there were no stairs, however she managed so all was OK, just writing as I didn't feel it suitable for disabled users that many who come to Yarmouth are. For our needs it was perfect though!

We had such a wonderful experience thanks to Ali at the Carlton Hotel. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. When we asked if it might be possible to have a sea view instead of our original room, he went out of his way to show us another option and make the change for us. His kindness and genuine care really made our stay special. Thank you, Ali, for going above and beyond – you made our time here truly memorable!

This is my second stay at The Carlton, and it confirms the good points of my previous visit, and I will gladly stay there again. On both occasions the rooms have been large, toasty warm, with constant hot water for washing and showers, and both beds were incredibly comfortable. The rooms were also clean and tidy too. These are four areas that can spoil a stay in a hotel if not achieved, but both my rooms have ticked these boxes well. The location is also very good for the beach, and the town, but also in a quiet location too. Special note for the excellent breakfast too. Well worth the money, and after sampling it last time I booked it for every day on this stay.
Not really a dislike, but the owners have made a lot of effort to improve the appearance of the communal areas, and they are now looking nice. The rooms however are starting to look 'tired' and do need some renovations. But they are clean, and have all the positives mentioned above, so for me it makes up for it, and although some improvements are needed, I can live with the rooms as they are as a solo traveller. Many more positives than negatives, and I will book to stay again.
