It was clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. Our bathroom was outside the bedroom, but we didn’t mind at all as it was very spacious and probably nicer than most en-suites! Our room faced out to the square/main road which we thought might be a problem with noise, but it was super quiet at night and not an issue at all. It was nice place and freshly updated and we would recommend to others doing the C2C. Also within short walking distance of the Mango Tree, which was a great place for dinner!

We loved our room on the top floor, really tastefully decorated, and with an excellent and specious bathroom, with lots of hot water. We had a great view of the Market Place from our window and were delighted to see the 'Forties Weekend' going on outside. We also bought some 'War-time Marmalade' (made from carrots). Exceptional was the kind welcome we received from very hard-working staff. Kirkby Stephen is set in a beautiful landscape and we shall certainly seek it out again and hope to stay at The Pennine Inn.

Parking was a challenge but where is that not the case? I wish I had chosen something to eat that was more genuinely local. My guess is that, for many of us, when we travel we really appreciate the local and the general.

I immediately arrived and was told that Booking.com had not passed my reservation in to the new owners (don't know if that's true and I probably won't get this posted now anyway). The owners couldn't be more accommodating and found me what I assume was probably the best room in the hotel. The evening meal was good and the breakfast very good. The facilities in my room were very good but I didn't know what a more standard room would be like? It is quite a lively place and it's where all the youngest hang out on a weekend. They regularly have live music too.

The staff were lovely and helpful. We were able to use one of the rooms to change for the wedding we were attending.

We had all the rooms for one night and some were better than others, with poor mattresses and tired furniture. But as seen on the photos, so no surprises really and they were all very clean. There are a lot of stairs which is OK if you are aware before you book

Very comfortable bed, lovely big tub bath, nice sized room, all very clean. Bit of noise from the road, would be worth getting double glazing. Breakfast o.k, but no cereal, fruit or pastries, juice wasn't fresh (concentrate), hollandaise sauce had curdled a bit and would prefer to choose on the day rather than having to choose and pay the night before, but understand it's a small b & b.

Size of room was great with a lovely bathroom. Plenty of hot water. Facilities offered were good I.e. tea,coffee, hot choc, shampoo and conditioner Comfortable bed Nice buffet breakfast in the morning

Parking was a bit of a pain, few spaces available in front but not really their fault as the hotel is in the centre of town. Maintenance of room, ours was a bit tired in places I.e. mould in bathroom, cracks etc. Only other thing to mention was the time of the breakfast service, was quite early (8am until 9.30am). Would be better if this ran until later on a weekend so you could relax and have a little more of a lie in.

No food service available Sunday evenings unfortunately. All staff super friendly and efficient pleasant people. An ideal stopover on The Coast to Coast walk. Can highly recommend to anyone!

Nice room (with a fan) and view over market sq. The lady who checked us in I think her name was Jules deserves a pay rise…she has all the customer service skills required to encourage return visit. The young lady at breakfast was also nice.I would recommend the Pennine hotel and would rebook.

The earliest breakfast was 8am which is a tad late for those on C2C. This has been our experience in most hotels/B&B accommodation though IMO. A laundry service would also be helpful as the only laundromat in town was closed.

The location was lovely. Market square, easy parking just outside. Welcoming atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. Shown to our room. Which was very spacious overlooking the market square. Comfortable large bed. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice. Came to kirby Stephen to attend the Tanhill inn to see a group with family. Would recommend a stop over and hope to return.

There was nothing to dislike.

The staff were friendly, professional and, very importantly, looked happy. The bicycle storage was perfect and an important feature for us. (Perhaps this facility should be advertised more). The room was clean and welcoming. A very comfortable bed. The food was tasty and good value for the money. Great breakfast.
