Excellent staff who kindly escorted me to the room and offered to help with bags, Thomas showed me an exit I could easily use to go out to a lovely patio area, the room and some nice little touches and was really clean. I had the full English breakfast and it was amazing and didn’t need lunch that day.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like food did take I little while in the evening but it was so fresh and tasty I would rather wait than have micro meals, It looked like there was a beauty room and may have booked in if there was an option on the website.

For travellers on the A66 between England and Scotland, this recently renovated village inn, just off the A66, offers a welcome change from standard chain hotels. Managed by an enthusiastic young couple, with a friendly and helpful staff, this inn is the focal point for the local community. Excellent home cooked food and a welcoming atmosphere are important elements in this success. For guests, the bedrooms, although smallish, have been comfortably furnished and well-equipped, as are the en-suite bathrooms - ours having a good-sized shower.

Not much really.

Breakfast was sufficient, delicious and well cooked, together with choices of juice, cereals and hot drinks. Facilities were, clean, comfortable and quiet. Pub bar was comfortable, cosy and friendly.

Slightly wider choice/variety of evening menu options would have just made it a little better... but a minor observation as what was available was delicious, well presented and arrived in a timely manner. It is understood that establishments have to strike a balance between choice, price and managing the costs of a range of food stuffs and menu options.

Staff really welcoming and attentive . Food was great and well priced. Room very clean.

Stayed Friday night and had to be up early for work next day. One of the warmest days of the year so window had to be open, resulting in a noisy evening's rest! Would probably have been fine on a 'normal british summer's day' but that's the only complaint. Perhaps a fan in the room would have solved the problem but other than that no complaints.

The new crown inn is a very nice little place in a quiet village. Very nicely decorated and presented throughout. Nice tea tray with kettle and biscuits, the bathroom was very nice. The bed was very comfortable overall. Plenty of storage with the large wardrobe. Free parking, and key provided for access late at night as we're going to a wedding nearby.

We entered the place through the main bar door at check in time and stood for about 15mins before anyone checked us in..there was no-one there, we were shown to our room when staff did come..

Some of the staff really friendly e.g lady behind the bar when we arrived and whoever served the evening meal. Pub garden was lovely and pub regulars really friendly.

Felt like a nuisance at breakfast and breakfast choices not that great. I think the first issue was as a result of a meeting being held for local farmers. Atmosphere felt uncomfortable. However I think we were just unlucky with this and would happily stay again.

The Inn was beautifully presented and the staff all welcoming. The bedroom with en-suite was furnished to a high standard with excellent toiletries provided. Enjoyed 4 nights in comfortable bed. The food was excellent with good choices.

The earliest Breakfast time at weekend of 9am was really too late for us but we knew this beforehand so was not a surprise.

Family run. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. I can't praise this gorgeous place enough! Food was outstanding too. I only had a small single room but it was super cozy! Extra thank you to Thomas and a super special mention to Georgia who was so lovely. As a woman travelling alone, staff are so important and she was amazing! Lovely locals too

Bigger TV would have been good but not a big issue for one night

Bedroom was pristine, not a smear to be seen on the shower cubicle in the en-suite so you can tell the staff take extra care. Yes your above the Bar area which was noisy on a Friday night but it all stopped at 11pm. The breakfasts was hot and tasty. Loved the Eggs Benedict.

Wasn't anything, apart from another guest turning the heating thermostat off in the accommodation area, which meant bedroom was cold but owners are reviewing that when I raised it with them.

Recently refurbished rooms, spotlessly clean and a really comfortable bed. Good pub menu for dinner, and an excellent ( and generous) breakfast. Plenty of parking right outside. Very friendly landlord/ staff. Excellent value - I would happily go back/recommend.

You should expect to hear a bit of noise from the bar until a little after closing time, but this is a pub, after all - and after that, it's very quiet.
