The suite was spotless, well appointed, the continental breakfast was super generous, and the house is only short drive from the middle of Kirkwall - so also easy to get out to all the incredible Neolithic sites close by. George was an outstanding host and provided critical help to us when weather caused our ferry off the island to be cancelled. He is also a docent with Historic Scotland, so he is a hidden gem for those who select this property.

Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Location was excellent for getting around Orkney. Accommodation was clean, quiet and comfortable. Our host, George, was very friendly and accommodating. Facilities were great, there was a fridge,microwave and toaster to help with preparing meals.

Very difficult to criticise as accommodation exceeded our expectations.

It's location was great, very quiet neighborhood. A lovely view of the harbor and town. Separate sliding door entrance, very private. Lots of room to spread out and have some quiet time. Lots of snacks and breakfast food available in the unit.

The shower stall was a bit tight.

Cosy but very spacious, meticulously cleaned, well equipped with appliances, and very generous provisions for self-serve breakfast. Decor was simple but tasteful. Bed was comfortable. Modern bathroom with easy-to-use shower. Local information supplied. Overall great value.

No complaints.

This felt like a real home from home , a lovely sized lounge/ dining room & good size bedroom with en-suite. Very comfortable & clean. A fabulous continental breakfast was left in our room with everything you could want. The view from the lounge over the harbour was a real bonus. It is just a short walk into town so ideal & a nice break from driving.

There was nothing we didn’t like about this place

Everything. The living & bedroom was comfortable and clean with plenty of supplies. Located within a 10/15 minute walk in to central Kirkwall and no more than half hour drive to reach either the east or west coasts of the mainland.

Leaving. Five nights was not enough.

Self-contained unit within 10 minutes' walk to centre of Kirkwall. Good view over Kirkwall. Host very helpful and plenty of food for continental style breakfast, topped up during stay. Nearby Lidl and Tesco, passed when walking into the centre. Excellent base to explore the prehistoric sites and walks along the coast. Everything on mainland Orkney within approx 30 - 40 minutes drive, some major sites much closer.

Only the weather - very windy but outwith everyone's control!

Great location for our stay in Kirkwall with good view of the ferry harbour. Very comfortable beds, super clean and friendly host.

All was very good. A couple of small improvement suggestions: it would have been great to have a knife for cutting the breakfast cheese and maybe the opportunity to boil an egg for breakfast

Good shower, bed is good to sleep on. It was nice to have our own privacy and the unit was pretty complete. Quite neighborhood with private driveway. Location was perfect.

The shower cabin is too small.
