Perfectly located with access to the town & beyond, immaculately maintained. Private rooms and bath with access to shared rooms made getting up earlier than my companions easy. Good showers, very comfortable beds.

Any quibbles were very minor. No way to fill the hot pot in the small sink. There was a towel dryer but no other towel rack. As we were unfortunately unable to stay for breakfast because the ferry rescheduled us, we ran out of instant coffee in the rooms and it would’ve been nice to find a little more in the breakfast room. But the cereal selection was very good!

What a charming place and such lovely helpful hosts. The room was first class and the breakfast area looks out across fields to Stromness town. A bus stop is one minute away at the end of the road or you can walk about 2Km into Stromness (passing a supermarket on the way). The accommodation has a lovely guest lounge with a large TV and plenty of reading materials and a wealth of tourist resources. Of course the room has it's own TV as well and ours looked out over fields. I have a cooked vegetarian breakfast which set me up for the day.

Everything was perfect. I cannot think of a single shortcoming. Stay here - you won't be disappointed!

It’s rare I feel compelled to leave a review, but there is something very special about my experience at Lindisfarne that I felt it deserved a mention. From the moment my feet hit the ground in Orkney, Deborah was the kindest most thoughtful host you can ever hope for. Her and husband Kevin welcomed us into their home as if we were part of the family. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious, with the most spectacular view of Stromness. They also have the most wonderful friendly dog called Tyson (whom I never once heard bark), who has a best friend rabbit called Mustard. Their endless antics in the back garden was highly entertaining and the cutest thing I’ve ever witnessed 😂 My niece and I had such a special visit to Orkney during the Island games with memories that we will treasure forever. Thank you for everything.

Convenient location just a few minutes outside Stromness. Over looking green fields and the sea. Excellent breakfast and a very friendly host, Deborah. Good sized room and bathroom. Fast internet. Use of a lovely shared lounge area.

Our flat was upstairs in an attic area, so had to carry suitcases upstairs , but we are very used to doing that. There was quite a lot of wind noise initially but Orkneys had huge winds that day. The ceiling is quite low, so I was prone to hitting my head on the light fittings, but I am around 6 ft 5 in. Overall it was great.

When pulling up in front of the house, we were not sure what to expect. It is a quiet suburban looking home with a fantastic view of Stromness and a little removed from town. We were delighted to find a comfortable, very clean cosy home that was welcoming and pleasant to visit. We were a bit sad that we had only planned one night to stay and when we go back to Orkney, we will book Lindisfarne. The breakfast was excellent and the owners were friendly. We didn't get to see much of Stromness but will return to see more of the area.

Very pleasant owner, super excited to have us; parking, this is one of 5 duplexes on a ridge overlooking Stromness; in nice weather (does scotland ever have that?) a 1 mile walk to town. No lift. She left us makings for breakfast since we had to leave by 0600 to get to St. Margaret's Hope for ferry. Reasonable rate.

Ventilation could've been better; noticed there was no A/C so if it was a hot day (it wasn't!) it might have been a bit stifling, but frankly, that's nit picking.

Amazing location just outside Stromness. Beautiful views of the bay and the hills. Lovely guest living room that we had to ourselves being the only guests at the time. Lovely breakfast with stunning views. And let’s not forget the gorgeous Tyson who my wife would have happily took home! Next time we return to Orkney we will definitely be looking to book back in.

We hated having to leave in a hurry as our boat home the next day was being cancelled due to weather. We were given 45 minutes to get our stuff packed and check in for an earlier sailing.

Comfortable accommodation with friendly and helpful host. Great breakfast. Lovely views from the house. Local evening restaurant places few but we could use a fridge and microwave for take away meals and eat in the dining room. Sitting room available for guests.

Everything was great. My only small criticism would be that the TVs in our room and in the sitting room could do with an upgrade.

Breakfast was great - well cooked and nicely presented - always with a smile. Room was clean and tidy with a lovely countryside view. Deborah was a first class host - great attention to detail - super-friendly with her guests.

A couple of pegs on the back of the door would have been useful, and a few more coathangers...otherwise ,staying at Lindisfarne was an excellent experience

Everything! What a pleasure it was staying in this lovely, hard-working, and friendly young family’s home! They have created a welcoming respite for travelers visiting Orkney. There was nothing more for which we could have wanted. The close proximity to the ferry, delicious/generous breakfasts, and nicely appointed rooms were everything we needed. We highly recommend this property!
