Location close to town. Bed comfortable. Great view from room across water to Bressay. Hotel definitely a bit tatty but everything worked and made it feel quaint which I liked.

No in house bar or restaurant although being so close to town didn't really detract from our stay as plenty of places to eat nearby. Thought it was a bit pricey but we did book late.

Loved the room. Ground floor, right over the water, could hear the sound of the water lapping at the shore. So peaceful. The room was incredibly clean and bed was comfortable. The bath was a little bit of luxury for me, and the shower pressure was good and hot. Honestly was a bit dubious after reading other reviews but I really enjoyed it - I wanted a clean, private, quiet, relaxing space to unwind and got exactly that. Would stay again - especially if I knew I was getting that exact room!

The decor is obviously outdated but there’s ongoing renovations and I’m sure the restaurant and bar will be great once they’re opened up again. No one at reception at check-out but there was a phone number to ring and that was just as easy. Overall not a lot to dislike!

It is perfectly situated. This grand beautiful historic building is being renovated by the present owners. I had a room with a sea view which was magnificent. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I loved the towel warmer and excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff were amazing. Sam, the owner’s son, went above the call of duty to provide towels and vacuum the sand I tracked into the room. Harvey, the owner, was fantastic! He even gave me a ride to the bus station. If you are interested in historic preservation this is the hotel for you. It sits actually into the sea next to Bain’s Beach. I had a fabulous week at the Queens Hotel.

The property is undergoing renovation so everything is not in perfect condition. It didn’t bother me in the least.

It was very clean, extra tea and coffee available for my room. The staff were exceptionally helpful. I got lost getting there from the airport and the Manager even came to find me and carry my luggage. The staff couldn’t do enough for me. The breakfast was also amazing and they catered for a gluten free vegetarian very well. I’d definitely stay again.

View from the room of Lerwick harbour was incredible, so close that you could see to the bottom of the sea. Decoration some would call dated, but I loved the gilt carving and the room was quirky and unique. Staff incredibly polite and helpful. Left with a great impression.

Bed was a bit hard but I've slept in a lot worse

Wonderful location in a historic building on the harbour, nicely-sized rooms and the owner mentioned that they are planning a refurb and modernisation in the coming months so it should be even better.

We arrived out of season so there was never anyone on the front desk, had to help workers who did not have UK phones get in touch to check in and out.

Location- walking distance of everything including island buses. Wonderful owners & staff - welcoming and helpful. A comfortable quiet room with ocean and beach views. Very unique. Some renovations underway that did not disturb. Looking forward to returning some day..

Very quiet location

I had to check in late due to ferry schedule difficulties. When I arrived at the hotel I had to use a phone to call someone to check me in. I found it a bit inconvenient.

Excellent location,staff friendly and helpful no food available hotel needed some TLC but comfortable room,plenty of tea coffe and towels

Just a bit outdated

Location & view😍 I have damaged knees so spend more time in my room than I used to so a view means a lot to me. The bath was good. Bed comfortable & big towel good. Tea /coffee making facilities was a big bonus especially as I usually have a cup of tea early in the morning. Would stay again.

I would have loved a fridge & microwave especially as they are room only & it was the most expensive place on my time in Scotland. No shampoo but I had my own fortunately
