Friendly owner and lovely rooms with parking right outside. Selection of tea and coffee bags and biscuits on arrival. Underfloor heating and a heated towel rail (on timer) meant the room was cosy. Good wifi and a great breakfast, served in the main building across the courtyard. Umbrella provided in the room in case of rain.

In common with a lot of places we stay in, there was black mould staining in the shower area, which could so easily be treated and kept under control. Also the walk in shower area allowed water to spray onto the bathroom floor.

The estate was very picturesque with lots of animals and the river lea goes through it. Just very quiet and idyllic. The host is very friendly, helping and very dog friendly aswell. The area has a lot to offer and the trail along the river will be something to explore on our next visit. Very lovely villages nearby like harpenden and st. Albans. The breakfast was great too. Even fresh fruits which you do not get everywhere. There is also a bus stop directly in front of the entrance. I will definitely stay again.

The room was beautifully clean, modern in conveniences but still managed to retain a cosy intimate feeling. Also the shower was incredible. Nice to be offered a fan even though it wasn't needed on this occasion. Breakfast was delicious, hot and made from good quality fresh ingredients.

For my partner and I, the only thing we had any issues with was that the mattress was a little too hard for our liking. But both of us understand this is completely down to personal preference.

Everything . A lovely welcome from Katie the owner . Spotless bedroom with an amazing shower in the ensuite bathroom . Tea & coffee making facility plus complimentary biscuits on our arrival . Excellent breakfast . Fresh fruit , cereal etc followed by a full english breakfast . Absolute value for money .Will absolutely return when back in the area . No hesitation . Recommend .

Hyde Mill is in a fabulous location not far from the Luton Hoo Estate and a short drive to Harpenden. It is secluded and very rural in its setting on the banks of the River Lea. Full credit to the owners of Hyde Mill in what they have done to create a contemporary and homely feel even down to the lovely bathroom toiletries. Katie is an excellent host and provided us with a very hearty breakfast with delicious local produce. We very much look forward to staying at Hyde Mill again.

Location great for Harpenden. Space in the family room was great, felt like a wee apartment and the seperate rooms were a nice change from just a room. Loved the setting...being greeted by the geese on the water in the morning is pretty awesome! Plenty of space to park the car. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Katie was more than happy to provide what we needed and cooked really well. Full length mirror is great - a lot of places do not have one and I though this was a nice touch

The bed was a little firmer than I would like but that is purely personal preference...it was still comfy!

It was beautiful and peaceful. Gorgeous interior and surroundings. A little bit of luxury wrapped up in a countryside location but close to amenities. Breakfast was so good and having a little kitchen and a table etc was perfect. The decor in the room was beautiful. So happy with our stay and the price was amazing.

This property has been finished to a very high standard & their work is ongoing. Beautiful shower.

Being messaged for exact time of arrival plus Being asked at breakfast when we were leaving ' because they were thinking about payment ' The owner was not overly friendly or welcoming, no small talk etc. Obviously being asked about payment in such a blunt manner is not great. Of course it should have been something like ' when you decide to leave just pop over & we'll sort payment out' something like that. The road is also alot noisier than you'd imagine for a country location. Assume people use it as a short cut.

Lovely large spacious comfortable rooms finished to a high spec for a good price. Quiet. Great breakfast. Pretty rural setting but very near Harpenden or Luton. Owner has great communication and is helpful. Offered a pull out bed when we needed an extra person and put us on waitlist for a room cancellation.

We were due to stay in St Albans but the original accommodation cancelled on us, and we were glad they did when we stayed at Hyde Mill instead. Katie did a wonderful job throughout from beautiful breakfasts - fresh berries, melon, pineapple etc; yummy yoghurts; cereals; a variety of cooked breakfasts - through to a really comfortable, clean and very pleasant room and bathroom. Hubby was particularly pleased with having a bath (& shower) having been in Europe where they tend not to have baths available. The accommodation is quiet too. The bath towels are proper bath sheets, thick and quality. I was able to catch up on all my laundry too with only a very reasonable contribution required. (Thank you Katie) Katie was very helpful with any enquiries during our stay. The property is in a nice farm setting with duck pond, geese and horses around. Picturesque. Not far from St Albans, Harpenden and Luton to the north.
