The friendliness of the staff, especially in the restaurant. Very helpful with menu choices for my sister, who is coeliac. Meals are all reasonably priced and a good choice of food and very tasty. 🙂 The hotel room was ideal for a sisters reunion of three. 😀 Rear private car park to the hotel although this is not very obvious on the website. The hotel was just a few minutes walk into the town centre. Also ideal location for a couple of walks we had planned by car.

Only downside was the shower which was over a bath. No problem with the bath, but shower power was very low. 😏

The room and ensuite bathroom were a great size and kept absolutely spotless. The bed was incredibly comfortable. All the staff were super-friendly and they really fill you up with food at breakfast. The free hotel car park at the back, and being two mins from Melton Mowbray's train station, as well as 5 mins walk from the shops, made it a really convenient location. The hotel restaurant/pub food was high quality.

I had the bay window bedroom to the front, and the racket made by the traffic outside was quite something. The single glazed sash windows stood no chance at keeping the noise out, and HGVs tear down the bridge and up Burton Street at 3am/4am. I noticed that when I stepped out of my room and into the hallway, and shut the door, it was completely silent. And also in the breakfast area on the ground floor, traffic noise was minimal. I wondered if it's something to do with sound travelling upwards and the orientation of the buildings on Burton Street affecting the acoustics. I'm not sure if there's anything that can really be done about that, other than writing to the council.

The place was exceptionally clean. The bed comfortable and the general areas were good. The owner was a very helpful chap who helped me with the internet query I had. It was just a half hour ride to Leicester to see the remains of the Regicidal Hunchback usurper king (we are Lancastrians with a tenuous grip on history) which was the purpose of the trip

We had a very warm welcome on arrival. We were on a cycling tour and they put our bikes in the laundry shed for safekeeping. The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed. Of particular note were the meals, which were exceptionally good value for money, with a varied menu. Breakfast was not included in the price, but we all opted for the extra, and it was good.

The hotel is right on one of the main routes out of Melton Mowbray, so traffic noise can be a bit of an issue during the night. If you don't mind that, it's fine.

It was good to be able to park on site given the hotel's centre of town location. Check in was efficient and were we made to feel very welcome. The bedroom was spacious with a seating area, large flat screen TV and a good sized bathroom. Wifi was complimentary and of good quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our Indian meal in the evening. The breakfast was cooked to order and was very good. The staff were very friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

Easy check in , literally took 2 minutes and the room was ready before the time we had to check in. Room was small but had everything we needed , was a very warm room but there was a ceiling fan to help. USB sockets in the room which are very convenient. Bar area was clean and staff friendly , also has a nice little yard area for sitting out with drinks. Also there was a night porter available to let us in after the bar area had closed so we could gain access to our room Free car park

The mattress was a little soft but I think that was just my preference but not a real complaint. Just a small niggle but the body wash dispensers was far too high up the wall and I could only just reach it , I am a short but still feel it was too high. Shower pressure wasn't as good as I expected, wasn't a trickle but still could have been a bit better The room we had was on the main road so if the window was open it was fairly noisy but it is in the town centre.

On arrival we were told that we did not have a booking at all despite booking the deluxe family room, this it seems wasn't the Hotels fault but Booking.com seemed to have not passed on the booking to them. Despite this and the Hotel being pretty muck full the moved things around and gave us a room smaller but OK for the one night and discounted the price we would have paid. The hotels location is fantastic in Melton and the heart of superb motor bike and cycling country. We had been cycling round Lincolnshire a total 9 days riding and this was the last stop before returning to Nottingham. The rooms are modern and tastefully fitted out with recessed tvs and all in all much better than average.

I messaged the hotel and requested confirmation three times that there was somewhere safe that we could secure for our bikes for obvious reasons. But I received NO reply to my requests. If I had been told of the upset we caused when trying to secure our bikes when told to leave them in the laundry room i would have booked elsewhere. We had stayed 7 nights previously with no issues and all previous hotels confirmed safe storage and complied with no issues. This is a large lovely old hotel with many outbuildings and I sure one of those could be simply converted for that use. So whilst I enjoyed Melton I would suggest staying elsewhere if on cycle trip to avoid the issues we encountered.

Breakfast was amazing, staff attentive and very helpful, very clean. We had evening dinner aswell - incredible amount and taste - food wonderful. Wonderful room.

In tge restaurant at dinner i had to be asked if i could re-choose my dinner as they were out of my first 2 choices. Poor waitress had to go backwards and forwards 3 times before i could have something on the menu. We also felt portions were rather large but very good.

Location was great, lovely bar area inside and out, staff lovely and friendly, free car park at the back of the hotel, rooms were nice, not very big but it had everything you needed for a night away, lots of other pubs and eating places within easy reach.

There was only one person serving breakfast and it took about an hour before we got it and quite a lot of the food was very over cooked, we didn’t think that was value for money.
