Quintissential English small village pub at the village green for us Aussies! Location was convenient for visiting and hosting relatives at the Inn, as the meals were excellent. Staff always very helpful. Breakfast in the lovely Bistro Room was great quality too.

Ironing board was wrong size for the cupboard in the room which was needed for luggage storage of our clothes. Smaller, and it could fit the cupboard neatly, and not be out in the room. We could not open our windows which was a problem to air the room and with your warmer days. We had to leave the door to the street open to ventilate the room.

Absolutely beautiful property. We had two rooms. One on ground floor one on top floor. They are thoughtfully decorated. The suite was beautiful and fantastic value for money. Wish I could face stayed longer. The staff were great too. We were late checking in as it was a last minute booking and travelling over 3 hours. They contacted us and waited for us to arrive. We were 20 minutes later than expected. Thank you for a fab stay. Just wish all rooms in hotels were as nice as this little inn

The fact they let us check into our room early so we could freshen up for a wedding after a 3 hour drive. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The curtains worked well as blackout curtains. Lovely village location. We didn't get the opportunity to try the bar as we were there only for the one night but it looked lovely. Good bathroom facilities and the shower was powerful. Air conditioner in our room...(room 1) was a bonus. I didn't see a lift but we only had one small flight of stairs and very little luggage. Unsure if they have a ground floor room.

I think all breakfast should be included in the room cost,or provide more choices for a 'continental' breakfast. There was a limited choice of cereal, yoghurt and fruit. Pastries, cheese and ham should have been part of the Continental breakfast offered. Cooked breakfast is charged extra.

Room was nice, comfy bed, nice atmosphere in the pub and it’s a lovely little village. Shower was lovely and hot and the bathroom nice and modern.

No parking, needed to park on side streets which were busy, it was advertised as breakfast included but finding out this was continental only was a bit of a disappointment as was an extra £12 for full English each. The fan was covered in a thick layer of dust and could do with a bit of a deep clean and cobwebs removed. The room next door must have been trying to connect their phone to the Bluetooth mirror in their bathroom but their songs kept playing through our mirror.

The location is in a picturesque village opposite a small green. We stayed a Saturday and Sunday night and the pub was very busy and lively both nights. We had dinner one night which was very good. The continental breakfast was delicious, breads, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, juice, crumpets and jams etc. We had a small hot English breakfast the second morning I couldn't finish it. The lady on breakfast service on the Sunday morning was lovely and welcoming. The room although a little small was cosy and clean,it just added to the feel of the place. The bathroom was modern clean and the shower was hot with proper water pressure. We would stay here again it was lovely.

Cheaper beer !! No, it was all really good.

The bedrooms are very quaint. Comfy beds and loved that there was air con that was an added bonus. Second time my friends and I have stayed there in 3 years after day at ragdale spa.

Only thing was we ate in the bistro 1744 in the evening and it was very slow service, we only got one drink. We were really looking forward to the loaded fries as we’d had them last time and they were exceptional, not on the menu now! I ordered the smash burger and it was extremely burnt along with the maple cured bacon, some of it was so hard I couldn’t bite into it.

Lovely village pub, nice size room, with modern decor & bathroom. Bed was extremely comfortable & I slept very well. (so well, that I overslept for my breakfast !) Breakfast was well cooked with good produce, sausages well lovely. There was a good selection of options also. The staff in the pub were friendly & there was a nice atmosphere. With a very nice selection of beers, I plumped for the Hawkstone in the end 👍. Really good location for Leicester City's training ground, which I was visiting for work. My 2nd stay here & will return again soon.

Evening meal and drinks were great as was breakfast, we had the continental which was cereal yoghurt fruit and toast, waffles crumpets. Very good. Form to complete the night before which needs doing to ensure the time. All staff were friendly and professional. We didn’t visit the village but it looked very nice.

We were in room 2 which was hot which I guess is because it’s over the pub,the back rooms might be cooler. The extractor fan was near our room which we could hear but wasn’t an issue.

An absolute little gem of a place. We booked it as it was close to Everyman Driving experience, and we only needed a one night stay. In the quiet little village of Thrussington, facing a quaint village Green. This is obviously the hub of the village where people love to meet and socialise. It’s easy to see why it’s so popular, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, hats off to Josh and Alex who went above and beyond. The food is amazing, cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Our room was quiet and comfortable, had the best nights sleep in ages. Spotlessly clean with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Shampoo, soap and shower gel also provided. We travel a lot and this has been the best over night stay we’ve had this year. Looking forward to staying again on the future.

Really spacious and well furnished room - everything you needed was included. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Located in a lovely village, right on the green with a fab deli opposite. Although parking at the Star itself is very limited, there is plenty of street parking nearby so wasn't a problem throughout our stay.

The wifi signal needs boosting in the bedroom - kept dropping out and was weak at the best of times. I would prefer a bit more self service at breakfast - rather than having to ask for tea, not having milk for the tea or brown sauce etc readily available (had to ask and there wasn't always a member of staff around).
