The room was spacious and spotless. Very comfy bed. The food served in the evening was really delicious.

Although 'dog friendly' dogs are not allowed in the breakfast room. They can be left in your room, or secured in an adjacent room where they can see you . No provision is made to have breakfast with your pup. However, the staff accommodated our wishes and we were able to eat in the garden.

We had a very warm greeting on arrival from Nick and shown to a warm comfortable room on the top floor. It overlooked the Church opposite and the hills of Dartmoor beyond. Mary and Graham are first class Landlords creating a friendly atmosphere and very relaxed. We enjoyed the evening meals on both nights in the comfortable bar . Very good breakfast and a central location to visit many great areas on Dartmoor. We will definitely return this Summer.

We were in the Wild Rose room. The room was very big and well furnished and had everything we needed. The bed was very big and extremely comfy. The room was clean and generally very comfortable. We had plenty of tea and coffee bags etc. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. Well prepared and tasty. Would certainly recommend!

Only slight criticism was the shower and mirror in bathroom was too low for me. I am 6ft 2 and I had to stoop down to use...lol!

Location was superb. My bedroom window overlooked St. Michael's Church across the road. The inn was two minutes from bus stop and right in village square. Breakfast was great best I had in ages. Staff and owners very nice and friendly. When I needed water for kettle at night they filled up a large jug for me. Bathroom had dressing gowns and individual showergel. Great wardrobe space with proper matching hangers

Continual issues with television not working and few channels- although when I reported it staff did come up to room to fix television. No one in Chagford new about bus timetables. Would have liked better range of evening bar food.

From the time we arrived to the time we left it felt like home. Mary and Graham are great hosts and can’t do enough for you. Nick and kristof behind the bar are the nicest people. We couldn’t get a taxi one evening and Kristof brought us himself in his car. So nice. The food here is indescribable. It just amazing. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Nothing all great

This is my second stay here and if possible, it was even better than the first. The room was perfect for two friends to enjoy a walking trip away. A lovely clean room with plenty of space, lots of tea and coffee available and information in the room to help us make the most of our stay. We really appreciated the dressing gowns in the room and the chocolate mints. Very approachable staff and a delicious dinner and breakfast. We will definitely be staying again.

Having to leave!

Very friendly, helpful and nice staff who put up with my thousand questions on local walks, buses... :-) The food here is delicious, it was one of the best dinners (if not *the best*) I've had in UK: tender meat, very tasty veg, everything cooked to perfection, lovely dish presentation... just all around great! Couldn't recommend more!

Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a good-sized ensuite loo and shower room. We had an exceptional evening meal. The pub had a really good vibe and was obviously very popular. Service was good.

We couldn't open the sash window in our bedroom (well not the top half anyway) as the mechanism was broken and the window dropped right down and we had a bit of a game getting it closed again. A wider choice of teas in the room would have been nice and there was only one sachet of instant coffee all the others were decaf.

Central location - right in the middle of the village - pleasant, spacious room with a fine view of the church directly opposite. Cheerful, helpul staff and good food.

A table and chair so you could do some work, write postcards, use computer etc. Large sofa and coffee table were great but not ideal if you want to write or work. Just a minor quibble.
