This property and location is stunning. Food amazing, room was perfect, we loved the bath in the bedroom and the views are out of this world. This place is very special. Hidden away and perfect to relax in. Loved the log burners and honest bar was nice to Socialise in.

Our bed was not the most comfortable but that’s because we are use to a soft mattress. Tv did not work in our room and WiFi is t the greatest if completing work etc, but who needs TVs and computers when at a beautiful place like this. Really can not fault the place. Our satnav took us down some very unsuitable roads but it was an adventure.

Sam and Jo couldn't have been more welcoming to their lovely home. We had a very relaxed stay at Weeke Barton where the facilities were superb. The house is very rustic with low ceilings and with spacious comfortable rooms. The bed was huge and the bathroom modern and clean. The 'honesty' bar was a nice touch and there was a relaxing fire to sit in front of every night. Sam had a wealth of knowledge about the local area and was always willing to share. Breakfast was lovely with good choices on the menu. We would be happy to return in the future. Thanks again to Sam and Jo for making us feel welcome.

The building is a beautiful long house, clearly lovingly restored , in extensive lush gardens , well off the beaten track so very peaceful If it hadn’t been cloudy the night sky would have been amazing There was a lovely sitting room area with fire to relax by, as well as an honesty bar next door. The rooms were quirky and spacious and very comfortable with excellent hot showers Sam and Jo were really welcoming and very helpful Went to the Nobody Inn a 10 min drive away, which was fantastic , cozy Devon pub with great food (ignore sat nav, go the longer way back down the B road then up the main road to the pub, it’s small but takes a bus unlike the quickest route that we barely squeezed through Will definitely return and would highly recommend for anyone who wants a Dartmoor base or just a lovely unwind

From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The check-in process was seamless, and the detailed instructions you provided made it incredibly easy to settle in. The kot was particularly impressive, equipped with everything one might need. The location was perfect. Being situated in a beautiful rural area with immaculate grounds. We especially enjoyed how beautiful the house was and the set up that the hosts had. Your hospitality did not go unnoticed. From the thoughtful welcome of personally introducing yourself to your prompt and helpful communication, it was clear that you genuinely care about your guests’ experiences. I also want to highlight how comfortable the bed was, having feathered duvet and pillows. These little touches truly enhanced our stay. The cooked breakfast was amazing and the home cooked sourdough bread has to be the best I’ve had in a long while. Lovely and very well adapted long house from 1400's. Owner exceptionally welcoming and friendly- felt like guests in his home. Our dog made instant friends with owners cocker spaniel so also had a great time in the extensive grounds. Breakfast lovely.

House up a very narrow lane that satnav kept telling us to turn around!! Because of its age the stairs were incredibly steep and would have been great in a medieval castle so not great for very tall persons or those with limited mobility. Not a fault though as added to the places' uniqueness.

Loved the location, so quiet and peaceful, the beautiful building and decor was stunning. The hosts were so kind and friendly, they made you feel at home, which was so lovely. We travelled with our dog, there was space for him to run free and every little detail was catered for to make it dog friendly and easy for us to keep him clean after running around in the field and moors!

There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like and hope to come back again soon.

Good parking and electric charging, super helpful staff with recommendations of what to do each day, delicious breakfast and dinner, comfortable room, super comfy bed, very hot powerful shower, dog friendly, stunning location!

It is a beautiful house, full of character, furnished comfortably and decorated sympathetically. We only met Sam and he was extremely efficient, very friendly, a very good host. The location is superb and the gardens are incredibly attractive and well maintained. If you are looking for hygge in England, go to Weeke Barton. Bucolic peaceful warm. The breakfast was spot on. Quality ingredients well prepared.

We are becoming old crocs and the spiral staircase and slight undulations and steps necessary in an old building made it a little tricky for us going upstairs and to the bathroom. We would be more careful choosing the room another time. The restaurant isnt always open and it wasn’t clear on the booking site. We ate at a local pub and it was a disappointment.

The ambiance at Weeke Barton is lovely and very relaxing. The hotel is very stylish with a mix of contemporary and antique furnishings and is very welcoming. Although the hotel doesn't serve evening meal every evening they were most accomodating when we arrived at 5.30pm and arranged some home-made muesli and yoghurt for us, which was very filling. The hosts are friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the local area. I've stayed several times when visiting my daughter at Exeter University and think this is the most charming place to stay in the area.

I would prefer to have the option of dining in the hotel in the evening which is why I gave a score of 9 rather than 10 but I do realise that with a hotel of this type and size that that is not necessarily practical. However if you're happy to eat out then I would highly recommend staying at Weeke Barton.

Really nice hotel. Superbly furnished public rooms. Lovely bedroom with excellent bed and linen. Very comfortable. Pre-booked dinner was very good, well worth doing and honesty bar was well stocked. Excellent breakfast. Host very knowledgeable about Dartmoor and surrounding area.

A couple more wine options would have been nice.
