The staff were in the main excellent, friendly and helpful, however the staff team at breakfast let it down. We had to wait quite a while for someone to seat us. One waitress shouted from across the room ‘I come’ but never did. When we were seated no one came to take our order I had to go and find a waiter. The eggs Benedict were lukewarm almost cold but again we were not asked if everything was ok with the meal…no check back until we had to leave for our onward journey. I presume it was the manager/supervisor at the time really did not project as if she card over much. I observed other breakfasts going back to the kitchen. The hotel itself is excellent, facilities and atmosphere good. It was good value for money
Staff at breakfast need to be of the same standard as those who manage the restaurant/bar at other times of the day.

The room was clean and comfortable for both me and my dog who slept in the dog bed provided and used the bowls for her food and water. I enjoyed having a shower in the morning and breakfast in my room. The hotel was well located and just a 10 minute drive away from the weekend event I attended. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.
The room got too warm which meant I had a restless night and so did my dog who kept getting up to drink from her water bowl and wanted to go outside in the early morning to go to the loo in the garden. Unfortunately she had a stomach upset and diarrhoea which I had to clean up on the reception area floor before I left the hotel. I apologised to the receptionist who asked someone to clean the floor. The receptionist was helpful and empathetic.

This is our third stay here, we like the period features of the building but really modern, comfortable bedrooms. We also like the fact that it’s fully air conditioned, has a fridge and has a very comfortable bedrooms/linens/towels. On this occasion, we had fantastic service at reception, with a lot of help and the young lady going of her way to get us checked in and to help organise a spa treatment.
The service at breakfast is very slow, we waited 45 mins for our breakfast, it wasn’t busy and there appeared to be loads of staff around so no idea why, it was only 2 poached eggs and a charcuterie plate.

From arrival to departure (and even following that, as I left an important item behind, and they were very helpful in ensuring it would be returned to me), the staff were keen to ensure our stay was comfortable. This included our dog. FYI - if you book to stay with a dog, the £25 includes a dog bed (no need to transport your own), dog bowl, treats etc.
It's not that we didn't like it, but we were unaware that parking required a booking. This could well have been something I missed in their comprehensive, pre-checkin info. Having said that, there is ample paid parking adjacent to the hotel.

Really lovely comfy room, which was very clean and nice choice of hot drinks. Comfy beds and nice towels. Breakfast was great, very fresh ingredients, homemade fruit pots, granola bars etc and proper fresh orange. Good service. We also had a bar snack in the evening which was really nice. Didn't have my dog with me but was pleased to see it is still very dog friendly.
that fact we couldn't get a car space outside the hotel, which I appreciate is small but I have a hip injury at the moment and and walking isn't great

Staff all fantastic - couldn't do enough for you. Chilled pool and spa treatments brilliant- bed very comfy - the breakfast amazing
The main meal was a crab pasta dish but was tasteless, dry and virtually no crab - mentioned to Bistro manager who was understanding about the feedback and took our cheeseboard off the bill - shame as the food on all our previous stays has been the best Some communication mix up as we booked via booking.com and it wasn't clear that the dinner and room was only 2 courses whereas previously it had been 3 - needs to be made clear from the advertised deal or from reception on arrival what deal has been booked and what was included etc

The hotel has so much character it’s beautiful. My room was amazing. I had two bathrooms huge beds. The restaurant was amazing really great quality food beautiful decor and the staff were friendly great amenities in the room beautiful little touches like lots of herbal teas coffee snacks and chocolate that were complementary.
The rooms are not soundproof and because it’s an old converted building when people are on the landing going into their rooms it’s quite noisy which woke me up in the night and was a little bit startling as I was on a solo trip

Room OK - upgraded to the deluxe room but I would say it was a standard size compared to most hotels. Stain on bedspread which looked like body fluids! Toiletries and coffee making good. Bar and lounge area small for size of hotel, but in a great location close to the cathedral and centre. Didn’t have breakfast - our friends did - didn’t feel 2 breakfasts were worth £48. Apart from bedspread it was clean and the decor was good, but I couldn’t say I was blown away by the hotel. Apart from the friendly receptionist, it was an effort to find someone to serve you.
Service in bar and lounge area lacking - we had to go searching for someone to serve us. Stains on bedspread. Hot room.

The building and facilities were exceptional .very clean, loved the pool facilities. The food was amazing ,particularly liked the eco room cleaning policy. Dining and Bar staff also amazing.Cant fault them.
We arrived , issue with pc system, checked in and got vaguely pointed towards where our room was located, no offer of help with bags. Requested tea and coffee on two separate days and got told they would be bought up but unfortunately weren’t on both occasions. There are two sand filled ashtrays on the patio, these were used to deposit dog poo bags, unfortunately the same bags were in it for most of our stay and one guest had placed an unbagged poo in it . I felt this unhygienic so raised it with reception. Shortly afterwards. The bagged poo was removed but the unbagged poo was still in it when we left.

Good location, walkable to the town centre, interesting room obviously recently decorated etc and beautifully clean, with a very comfortable big bed. The usual excellent breakfast but with the extra of an interesting dining room and very friendly and helpful staff. We didn't think to reserve a parking place in front of the building but the public car park adjacent turned out to be a completely suitable alternative. Two lovely nights in our eighteenth (of nineteen) HDV's, on our way to Avon Gorge, Bristol.
Nothing, thanks!
