The room was good, comfortable bed and nice bath/shower. Bar staff were lovely.

It is a shame that you have to pay extra to be able to use the pool - that is the main attraction to booking a spa hotel. Parking is expensive.

Comfortable location with easy access into town. Staff were very accommodating

Paying for swimming pool, £10 pp, per visit. and paying £8 for a pint of beer

Location is good, we stayed to attend a team building event (Murder 57 - myrder mystery dinner) 11/10/24. Second time we've done this now. Check in quick and efficient, barstaff courteous and attentive.

The breakfast was awful, poor quality produce, limited choice, deep fried sausages, and bacon that was greasy with no taste. Not a mushroom in sight, and if you wanted egg, it's scrambled or scrambled. Paid for and stayed in a Privilege Room, no difference to a standard double a colleague had, other than the upgraded room, had a Mexican wave in the carpet which was about to rip. Last year health club facilities included in cost, this year additional charges implemented.

Lovely location in very nice part of town, short stroll to cathedral, shops and city centre. Biggest tv I've ever seen in a hotel bedroom! Small leak from toilet fixed immediately after reported. Clean, comfortable and lovely bed. ROom only so can't comment on breakfast.

Having stayed at a Mercure or two in the past, we've always enjoyed the pool. Found out during booking that here there was an extra £10 charge to use it. Never had to do that before, and was almost a deal breaker. We were in two minds whether to use it during our stay but on arrival there was a sign saying that the jacuzzi was broken, so that decided it.

I love the hotel. I have stayed many times and the staff are always lovely and they were so so so accommodating with my special needs and messaged a few times on booking Com to help me with these additional wants. As someone who is neurodiverse- there are certain protocols that help - High bright spacious room ✨️ A cooling fan and ability to have my own takeaway in the bedrooms Air con and big windows. Brilliant fridge and television downtime appliances and a sexy coffee machine were provided as well as slippers and bath robes :-) The facilities at the hotel are fabulous and I'm very sad that this time I didn't get to use them . The restaurant and lounge ate are also lovely with grand piano and nice food and drink choices 😋 ~ Kettle with hot chocolate biscuits and coffee tea also available in room .

I didn't like that I requested the room to be made and cold as possible - it didn't feel cold and the air con wasn't set cold enough- also asked for the windows to be open but even tho the reception said they had opened the window it didn't appear so. The coffee machine isn't set up. I think it would be better if next time it was Would be great if lightweight duvets were also available.

The room was lovely as usual, as was the breakfast in the morning. all the staff are attentive and very professional. We can't fault anything about the hotel and will certainly be coming back, hopefully soon.

We had a text assuring us that a quiet room was available on the 3rd floor. Unfortunately, it was a double bed instead of the twin we requested. The receptionist quickly found a twin room on the ground floor. It turned out to be very noisy with guests returning at night, it was especially noisy in the morning when we believe there was lots of meetings ready to begin. It was unfortunate for this to happen, but the reason for requesting the quiet room was that my wife recently had heart surgery, and it was our first time staying in a hotel for a long time.

The hotel is beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable, room lovely and clean, great facilities and breakfast was delicious. We had a warm welcome both on arrival and when having breakfast. Great location close to the centre and everything around which was needed. Although you have to pay for parking there was plenty of space to park and ideal to have onsite parking when travelling.

The only downside was around 11 pm in the evening a guest was trying to get into our room and a couple of others next to us. ( The guest appeared to have a few too many) Unfortunately, this was frightening when half asleep and the guest was led out in the corridor with very little clothing on. I understand people like to enjoy a few drinks however it's not very acceptable behaviour. Thankfully we are adults, but if we had kids with us, I think it would be bad for them to witness. However the reception staff handled it very well and came to assist straight away and resolved the issue.

Brilliant Location.Lovely staff who looked after us in the bar area where we ate, and had a massive company Xmas Party enjoying a few drinks before their meal....although loud, they were all happy, enjoying themselves, and quite entertaining really! The room was nice, clean and comfy although a little tired.

Charging paying guests to use the pool, after we had already paid £15 to park. Maybe a concessionary rate perhaps? Leaving our car in the carpark to get absolutely covered in bird poo. I know they can't stop the birds being there but we then had to pay £15 to have it jet washed at a garage.

The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and the spa facilities were awesome. Location was just fantastic - it meant we could pop back and forth at our leisure. Late checkout also meant we could relax for longer. Would 100% stay again.

£10 per person to use the jacuzzi etc is a bit tight - this should be included in the cost of the stay. I attended breakfast at 10am and there was very little left, and staff were slow to replace items. I also waited for several minutes in the buffet area after asking for vegetarian sausages, before being told by another waiter that I should sit down as it would take a while. Finally, the plates were incredibly hot yet there were no napkins available by the plates to minimise this.

Location was fantastic. 2 min walk and I was at the Cathedral and in the middle of Exeter. Staff were incredible. Very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Lots of interesting parking, and not badly priced (£15 per 24hrs). Loads of space and amenities in the suite made it worth the upgrade.

The room was really cold. Even with the 2 provided electric heaters and the heating as high as it would go. The suite could have done with a little TLC (paint peeling on the wall, toilet roll holder was loose, little things like that). The restaurant menu was very limited.
