Negs: Tiny awkward bathroom, loo behind the door felt a little cramped. Shower tap knackered so shower turned itself off after 2 seconds if set at bearable temperature. My partner likes boiling hot showers so didn't mind so much but as a normal person my showers were pretty cold. Not lukewarm, cold. Pros: All staff super friendly and smiley. We have a two year old who knows her own mind and all the girls on dinner and breakfast were really great. Parking close over the road and cheaper than advertised. Location amazing for Exeter centre. No noise from other rooms at all but we were in an end room...

Location good, opposite car park and 10-15 minutes walk to the city centre. Lovely reception and good welcome, lobby smelled lovely. The room was one if the best decorated we’ve stayed in - light and welcoming. Good tea tray. Some small maintenance issues like damaged skirting boards and temperamental door handles that needed a little attention, but overall very happy.

Breakfast offerings and quality were good but the staff were overwhelmed with the number of guests which having no clear seating system did not help with ‘sit where you like’ but there were no clean tables. We had to ask the already busy staff for cutlery, table cleaning, etc as well as additional food as items had run out and were not replenished. Having assigned time slots would address that to ensure a smoother flow of guests.

Outstanding staff were a key feature of our 3 night stay. Carly and Geraldine on Reception were a delight. Karen at the Bar was lovely. Breakfast staff were excellent. Comfortable beds, spacious room, quiet, great air con/heating. Breakfast had plenty of variety and a gluten free station with 3 items and toaster. Staff did not rush guests out like a lot of chain hotels. Cosy bar area. We received a complimentary free drink in the bar each and 3 coffee vouchers each. Also a free 2 hour late checkout. We will definitely stay again when next visiting Exeter.

We had a fridge in our room but I don't think it worked very well if at all. The hairdryer in the room was broken. We would have eaten in the restaurant, however there were very limited gluten free vegetarian/vegan options.

Friendly warm welcome with complementary glass of fizz and mince pie, friendly service during check in with complementary coffee vouchers for each day in the room the beds very comfy, the room was pleasant nice decor, bathroom very small but had a bath and a very powerful shower i liked the option to book the breakfast at the hotel and it was a buffet style the bar was handy and staff pleasant also the free WiFi was great addition to the stay

The bathroom was a little small, not enough storage/shelf space in the bathroom the tv kept going off during one of our evening but the WiFi meant could watch on my phone

We stayed at the hotel over New Year for 2 nights, it's the best hotel we have stayed in together. the location is very good right next to the shops and bars, and the car park opposite was very easy and could be sorted from the hotel. There were welcome drinks and Prosecco given out at midnight along with vouchers for complimentary drinks at the bar; they were very nice touches to our trip. the rooms were very comfortable and the housekeeping staff were very good. all the staff were lovely and friendly, but Karen in the bar made our evenings and our days for us and she was so lovely and friendly to talk to and really made us welcome and feel at home. actually, we had such a good time here that my partners brother and his wife came to join us the second night on our recommendation of how nice it was. we all had a lovely time.

nothing! but just a suggestion?. we stayed over new year not really knowing the area well as to where to go, we had tickets in advance for one place but after we got there it didn't look nice so we didn't stay. we went back to the hotel and we had a lovely evening seeing in the new year at the bar. the punch was lovely! it would be a great idea, i think for the hotel to put on a disco in future and have their own party for the guests.. it was very quiet in the bar until 1am and then it was packed out so if u did something in future with music or perhaps a small charge for a buffet say £10pp more people would stay at the hotel and enjoy the lovely hospitality that this hotel offers.

The lobby, the bar, and the restaurant areas are well maintained. Very inviting. The cocktail was delicious. The 'open fire' area makes for a cute and cosy snug area. The breakfast selection was very good. I ate far more than I should have. So much choice, I'd stay again just for the breakfast 🫣 The bed and the pillows were so comfortable I was happy for the 11am checkout 😴

The room was nice, spacious enough for what was needed. Not sure how much time was spent with cleaning/preparing the room but I found a 20 pence piece and a dress ring on the floor, one infront of the chair and the other infront of the desk so not hidden or in obscure position. My daughters pillow had purple stains all over it. Whoever made the bed MUST have seen it and proceeded to leave it, we found it very strange. Please see photo attached.

Booked very last minute and staff were helpful getting adjoining rooms.

Stayed on floor 4 and the ice machine didn’t work. Biggest issue was room service off the main menu finished at 2130 and we were told 24 hr service didn’t start until 2400! So it is not actually 24 hour room service and the peak period for late arrivals is the very period there is nothing available. The 24 hour menu is also incredibly limited, almost just pizza! Disappointing as inconvenient and not clear at all.

Staff were lovely, nice reception and bar area for meeting and gathering with friends.

Breakfast! We stayed here 3 years ago, variety and quality of breakfast definitely gone down. Over weekend no mushrooms were available on Monday, run out of sausages. Fried eggs were over cooked and omelette was thinner than a crepe, dry and tasteless. Melon had been trimmed too close to the skin, too many hard bits. On the plus side coffee was nice and conveyor toaster was quick and toasted first time. Some of the towels and pillows need replacing

I have stayed at this hotel for work a number of times and as I knew it, decided to book to stay here when visiting Exeter with my Mum. The hotel is in a great location for the city centre with car parking nearby. The staff are always friendly. Breakfast is great.

The room was a little tired and could do with having the bathroom spruced. The sealant around the bath had black patches of mould/mildew which made it look unclean. The soap dispensers in the shower were brown with dirt on top (I assume that the reason for this is the bottles are just topped up in situ, rather than being taken out of the holder to refill and wipe over?) That said, you could tell that the room had been cleaned well in all other areas. The black areas of sealant need replacing as it is impossible for housekeeping to clean it away and makes their job harder.

The welcome was lovely! We were given a refreshment on arrival! Room was clean and tidy. The entrance and reception area was very festive! Great location for shopping! If you park in the car park they recommend, they can organise some cheaper parking. Staff were great!

It looked like there may have been a snack for those who arrived earlier! As there were crumbs on a labelled stand! (The snack would have been welcomed!) There is also a complementary hot chocolate machine in the restaurant, but it was always empty! We had coffee in the restaurant in the evening - I think the machine isn't set up right? The mugs were small and half filled! Impressed they had a gluten free stand... But it wasn't well stocked. Only 2 pieces of bread left and some cereal available. A gluten free muffin or pastry would have been lovely (I think I have had them at other Leonardo hotels).
