I chose this place because of its historic connections - Charles Dickens is said to have been a patron of the pub. At first I was a bit concerned about having issues with noise, but it turned out that the room I stayed was well isolated, and I had no problem falling sleep. The best thing about this hotel is its location - almost in front of the Cathedral, and close to all main attractions.

The room could have been a little more spacious, but I admit it is quite functional, and the size is not a problem at all if you don’t have large luggage. Also about luggage: access to the room is through a staircase (no lift), so it can be troublesome if you’re carrying anything heavy (not my case). Lastly, this is something minor, but the keys are… well, really keys, not a magnetic card - a bit old-fashioned and maybe not the safest option, I would say. But overall I was satisfied with my stay, and it was well worth the price.

The staff were lovely, the guy who greeted us was warm and welcoming, showing a genuine interest in my partner and I and asking what we are up to etc. The room was bigger than we expected, the lighting was lovely, and there was privacy. Other rooms and guests could not be heard. My partner loved it too and made it special for both of us. My partner and I can worry about staying in places because of our sexuality, but this place was so welcoming we felt safe and really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Room was quite warm but a Dyson type fan was in the room to use.

This is an absolute gem. A lovely old pub and brewery in the heart of the city a stones throw from Exeter central station. The rooms are very comfortable and very well appointed, no end of vitals, plenty of toiletries and towels, spacious and most importantly a large and very comfortable bed. The staff are lovely and very helpful too. Checking in and out is very simple and the value for money is exceptional. This is in my top 3 of overnight city centre stays.

Loved everything about the property

The Turk's Head accommodation is situated above the historic pub (which is also a microbrewery) of the same name but has a separate private entrance. The location is very central and close to all Exeter's main attractions. The room was very comfortable and was cleaned efficiently every day, We would certainly stay here again.

The rooms are spread over three floors and there was no lift access. As far as I'm aware the hotell did not serve breakfast although there are numerous cafes etc close by.

I recently stayed at the Turks Head in Exeter, and it was an amazing experience! They went above and beyond by upgrading our room, making our stay feel extra special. The room was comfortable, stylish, and had everything we needed. Laura was fantastic – she was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure every detail of our stay was perfect. The entire team was friendly, and the service was outstanding. I’d highly recommend the Turks Head for anyone looking for a memorable stay in Exeter!

The Victorian plumbing made showering an interesting experience :)

I chose this hotel as I stayed here before back in March 2024, and loved it. This time around I had a smaller room since there was just me and I was traveling without my husband. The room was still excellent and comfortable, just smaller. Was not facing the street this time, so it was a little quieter which was nice. Check-in and check-out was easy and the staff kind and helpful.

My only disappointment was that there was a Nespresso coffee machine in my room, but no Nespresso cups were provided so I could not use it ☹️ I had kind of been looking forward to that yummy coffee too!

The room was nice and clean, had an ironing board and iron, coffee maker etc Bed was clean and comfortable and cute little touches like a card welcoming us. Free WiFi etc Staff were super friendly and welcoming when I arrived to check in.

The location is ideal for being out in the city centre, however obviously with that comes the noise of a high street. It wasn't unbearable but certainly not the quietest location if you're looking for peace and quiet (we werent) The room was very warm, even with the fan provided because of the type of windows and location they don't open much to let in a breeze. Air con or a bigger fan would be ideal.

What a fantastic hotel!!!! Everything about this stay was perfect, I cannot fault anything 😍 Easy check-in, super friendly staff, lovely touches like earplugs, eye mask, handwritten note, a Nespresso coffeemaker in the room, plenty of tea, great heating, fabulous hot shower, comfy bed, lovely environment and decor, historical significance, quaintly sloping floors 🙂, well situated in town, good value for money, pub downstairs with microbrews - brilliant!!!!

There was not one thing I disliked. Perfect score for this hotel. Wow.

Great location. Room was clean and well equipped although a bit tired around the edges. Could do with some minor touch ups. Staff were friendly and later in the evening in the pub were very good at managing the youngsters who had had too many.

Shower was very weak in the evening when we came home around midnight but in the morning was perfect 🤷‍♀️ 52 stairs up to our room on top floor, which was fine for us but would be hard for someone with mobility problems.

Room was stunningly clean, decor was cosy and bed was so comfy. I would 100% stay here again the value for money was exceptional. Staff were accommodating to a later checkout and also looking after our bags before check in/after check out while we were looking around the city.

Only downside was that to get to the room there was very steep stairways which was a struggle with baggage on the way to checkout. Someone with accessibility issues may not be able to stay here but staff were very helpful with carrying bags for us. Other than that everything was perfect.
