Fantastic staff team. The owner/ manager requires particular mention.... could not do enough both at arrival and whenever necessary. Food menu was exactly what was necessary with vegan options, rooms spotlessly clean and with an excellent modernised feel ( exposed beams but suitably modernised). We were attending a wedding and the hotel provided exactly what we needed. Sid our Labrador was very welcome with necessary walks from the door and a garden and seating area. Nice bar with outdoor seating
Not a lot....the hotel is in a housing area so be aware of that. it's also a practical stop over and overnight stay. Great for our needs but maybe not a place to stay for a week. But I'm quibbling here.... it's an excellent hotel and does what it sets out to do just about as well as it can be done!👍😁

Breakfast was excellent. Good range. Freshly cooked with pleasing options for vegetarians. Good VFM. Something to look forward to. Lovely building with charming rooms. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good value wines and beer. bottles of water and biscuits replenished daily
Weather was very hot so a small fridge in the room would have been welcome (but probably unrealistic). The roofing factory opposite was a bit of an eyesore but to be honest it didn't really impact on our visit. There was little discernible noise and it was only visible on leaving and entering. Couldnt see it from bedrooms, bar or didning rooms or beer garden. Not an issue really

I contacted the inn a few days before the stay to confirm the booking. The owner replied almost instantly with information. The accommodation was ideally placed for us to visit everywhere we wanted to. The room was cleaned and restocked every day. We were down to visit friends. So unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to eat there. But it smelt amazing. Can't recommend this place enough. And can't wait to return next year. Thanks to all the staff for making us comfortable.

It was a very good venue with excellent staff and served good food. It was a good base for our trips around the Devon coast and to National Trust sites. Highly recommended.
We thought, from the Barn Owl Inn write up on Booking, com, that it was within walking distance to Newton Abbot but when we got there it was obviously not the case. Once we got past the initial surprise it wasn't a problem, not a major issue, it was a short drive. We didn't let it spoil our very enjoyable stay at the Barn Owl Inn.

Comfortable room, warm. Bathroom nice, clean towels, hot water. Manager was very helpful and welcoming. Easy parking, dinner was nice in the pub. Easy to find.
Sign on the bathroom wall said it is an eco-conscious hotel room - We would been very happy shower gel dispensers rather than individual single-use plastic shower gel/shampoos. Also, single-use water was supplied and milk sachets. It's so easy to replace these with tap water in glass bottles and milk in small glass bottles. That would have been great and made it much more 'eco-conscious'

We were house hunting in the area and needed somewhere to stay for the night. We found Barn Owl Inn just a short drive from the A380. It was warm and welcoming and was beautifully renovated. It had wonderful oak beams everywhere and had beautiful and tastefully renovated rooms with modern, spotlessly clean bathrooms. The food served here is homemade and extremely good, but priced reasonably. The owner was a very friendly hospitable man who couldn’t do enough for you. I highly recommend giving this place a try. If we move locally we will definitely return for food & drinks.

Lovely clean, comfortable room at a very reasonable price. The tea/coffee making facilities were most welcome. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great to be able to eat in the pub downstairs after a long journey rather than look for somewhere else. Good to be able to have a drink with our meal as we didn’t have to drive. The Inn was beautifully decorated ready for Christmas.
You could hear the general noise from the pub below in our room. The towels were tiny As we were staying 2 nights it would have been nice to have the biscuits replenished

Very very friendly host, first class greeting, exceptionally helpful and a credit to the business. He and staff were superb throughout our stay and could not do enough to help. The Pub area was nice and clean, well presented with a nice selection of beers and the food looked awesome (We did not eat though). The ambience in the pub was exceptionally chilled with no raucous crowds which made a nice change.
The room was a little small (Ceiling wise) with beams and cross panels. Even at 5ft 7 we had to duck a few times but this is not enough to put anyone off staying here. The bath was very small with the shower only at shin height so could only lay down to shower so as a larger chap I found this very difficult. The bed had a nice firm mattress but there was a god awful humming noise all night that sounded like a generator or something which kept us awake most of the night, that was the only real tarnish to our stay otherwise the review would have certainly been 10 stars.

Lovely pub and rooms, beautiful old building that has clearly been well modernised to give a blend of modern decor with traditional structure (such as beams and shelves in the pub). Friendly staff on arrival and the next morning. Tasty breakfast. Room was well decorated and clean. Easy to find the inn as it is not far from a main road and sign posted, plenty of on site parking
Only down side was the pub isn’t open on Mondays which means no dinner/ drinks on site but we knew in advance so booked at a nearby restaurant called Hare & Hounds. I think this was reflected in the price of the booking though and breakfast was available on Tuesday morning

Efficient, polite, and friendly staff. Everywhere is very clean and beautifully presented. Fantastic breakfast, the best ever in a B&B. I really liked the motion activated bathroom ‘night light’ great for if you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. I felt instantly relaxed and we had a wonderful few days, we will definitely return. The hosts were really helpful and accommodating.
Nothing, I couldn’t fault it. Some might want a safe and possibly a mini-fridge in the room however, we didn’t need either and appreciated the peace and quiet above the noise of a fridge.
