Everything was lovely ,the room large and spacious. Roast dinner was the best we ever had! Super clean everywhere. Great location

I didn't like the receptionist bursting in our room when we had the do not disturb sign on . She could have knocked and waited till we answered because she had just seen us settling up at reception and knew we were in the room . Felt like she was trying to catch us out doing something wrong or something we weren't supposed to do ( which wasn't the case ) . Good thing we weren't having "alone time " or changing . Felt like invasion of privacy when she could have knocked and waited for a response . Either way bursting in like that didn't feel good 😕

This was my fifth stay at Orestone Manor, and I’m pleased to report that standards remain as high as ever. It’s a well-appointed, family-run hotel in a truly stunning location, overlooking Labrador Bay — a view that never loses its magic. The team run a tight and thoughtful ship, with warm, attentive service that makes you feel genuinely welcome. The rooms are spotless, characterful, and comfortably furnished — cared for with pride and attention to detail. The Bay Restaurant continues to impress, offering food of a very high standard. Every meal was beautifully presented and full of flavour, with a menu that balances creativity and classic charm. It’s a real asset to the hotel and a draw in its own right. The residents’ breakfast is excellent value at £10 — generous, freshly prepared, and served with the same care as dinner. A fine start to the day, whether you’re off exploring the coast or simply taking in the view. Orestone Manor remains a firm favourite. For anyone seeking comfort, quality, and a touch of timeless English hospitality in a breathtaking setting, it’s hard to beat. I’ll be back again, no doubt.

This hotel has great sea views. Its in a tucked away postion away from busy Torquay. We feel its excellent value for money. Our room was large and beautifully furnished with a balcony. The Bathroom was also large with a freestanding bath and great separate shower. Breakfast was buffet style with hot dishes cooked to order. We had dinner in the smaller restaurant section overlooking a terrace and gardens with lovely sea views. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent using high quality ingredients and service was attentive with staff being very knowledgeable about dishes and wines. There is a small free car park for guests.

Stunning Manor House in beautiful location. Attention to detail in the rooms was exquisite. There were lots of small finishing touches that were just wonderful. The bed was extremely comfortable. The communal areas were fantastic in their decor. We ate breakfast at the property which was excellent. There was a good choice. Everything was hot and well presented. Dinner in the evenings was on another level. The menu each night was varied and the food was absolutely wonderful. It was not only cooked to perfection, it had excellent presentation. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. You will not be disappointed with your stay at this hotel and if you have a love of food, then this is a must to be visited on your travels.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. Couldn’t have been more helpful from helping carry things such as drinks (I use a crutch) to even writing down the name of the delicious prunes served at breakfast (I hadn’t asked for this but had commented on how good they were and the staff member took it upon herself to give me the name which I thought was very kind and considerate) Beautiful furnishings inside and fantastic views and gardens outside. Staff care was outstanding.

Nothing, it was all excellent.

The manor situated in a lovely area with beautiful sea views. We stayed in a room, that had a private entrance with a private terrace and a jacuzzi hot tub. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. I loved the bed. The food we had in the restaurant was excellent and worth every penny. Staff were great most of the time.

Only few things I would like to mention here. The pillows were bad quality not up to standard, uncomfortable to sleep on and that is quite important when staying at the place like this. I think the decoration could have been a bit more stylish and also the bathroom was very modern, but didn’t really match the room. Some staff were polite but not very friendly to start with. Over time that changed a bit.

Check in was smooth and our room was beautiful. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I love the older listed type buildings and this did not disappoint. Beautiful sea view from the terrace and I was in owe at the decor & furniture! Breakfast set up was plentiful. Choice of Cooked or continental. Everything you could want. Our bed was so comfortable and there was no noise at all, we even had the windows open!

The only issue I had was the wifi in our room, which was right at the top of the manor house, room 12, was very weak. Not strong enough to watch a film in bed when we retired to the room.

Beautiful secluded spot in this country house hotel, with lovely gardens and very good food for both dinner and breakfast. Clean and comfortable, though not exceptional, still a very good hotel.

We felt that more could be done to encourage restaurant staff towards more engagement with residents. We sometimes felt our existence was ignored. A little more acknowledgement with some smiling eye contact would have assured us that despite being busy, we were not forgotten!

The room and ensuite bathroom were very big and we had a beautiful view of the garden & sea in the distance. We didn't have breakfast included in the price, but we decided to have it on two of the mornings and for the extra £10 per head it was great value and very good. We thought the idea of having a fridge on the landing with bottles of water was a really nice touch.

Authentic hotel in a fantastic location. The suite was luxurious, nicely decorated and a stunning view over the sea. Nice amenities in the bathroom. We appreciated the charging point for our electric car. The continental breakfast was simple, but also lower in price than the cooked breakfast. Dinner was really good, very good quality and nice presentation.
