The staff are an exemplary representation of the reputation that the hotel thrives on as a high quality standard of service.

The hotel could with more disability friendly rooms. Consideration put in to prevent slipping and falling in bathrooms. Allergy friendly cleaning products used, soaps, condiments etc. Bath mats that are latex free backed as latex is a common allergy now. A little child’s welcome pack to add that little personal touch to families staying. I wouldn’t say it’s what I don’t like but more what could be improved to add more comfort and safety. A few more disabled parking spots could be added too.

The room was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. It also had an amazing restaurant where we ate breakfast and evening meals. I was excited to hear we had AC as it was VERY warm, a bath and the bed was huge, but I had a slight issue with the bathroom, a mobility issue which isn't usually a problem made the bathroom VERY hard to navigate as it was exceptionally small. The staff were amazing and sorted it straight away by moving us to another room with a bigger bathroom. But we did have to forfeit the bath and huge bed. Room was lovely though

The bathrooms in the main building are so small, there is no room to dry and even washing my hands meant the spray from the sink soaked me as I were so close

We were on a tour around the south west and this was the best hotel we stayed in. Great location with loads of parking (right outside our room). Room had everything just right. Air con, adaptable lighting (I have sight issues) bath and shower and electric sockets near the mirrors for haircare (usually they are on the other side of the room and you end up doing everything sideways). The bed was very comfy and the quilt light and not too warm. The Carriages Restaurant on site was also brilliant, lovely decor and amazing food and service.

Nothing to dislike. Everything was great and would definitely return.

Breakfast was very good for a large hotel. We did book into the restaurant for a carvery meal which was outstanding. The room was basic but had everything we needed for our 2 night stay.

Because we had been travelling around Devon for a couple of weeks before we got to the Devon hotel we had large suitcases which were a bit awkward to manoeuvre up the stairs and steps in the corridor and entrance to the room. Maybe an offer of someone to help with this could have been provided as we are not spring chickens though someone did offer to help going down the stairs as we were leaving.

Location is idea for access to local business centres and road network. Easy access for walking and running down to the canal. Pleasant bar area and good selection of beers and ciders and menu.

Unfortunately my television )room 108) was broken and although it had a picture the audio/volume was not working and despite a visit to reception to ask somebody to look at it they were unable to remedy as a new television is needed and were very apologetic, I only discovered the TV was broken when I got back from a 4 mile walk at about 18.15hrs, so reported fault at reception on my way to get my evening meal. I was offered an Executive room, but at 20.30hrs I really did not want the hassle of changing rooms, at that time of evening so did without the TV for the rest of the evening and used my own laptop which although acceptable was not ideal. I reminded reception staff on my checkout the the TV was unserviceable and they were very apologetic again.

Lovely clean room, everything we needed and we could park outside our room which was very convenient to unpack. The restaurant, Carriages was absolutely gorgeous, beautifully done out, clean and food was delicious . We visited for a family wedding and they accommodated us very well, reserving a table in the bay of the bar as the restaurant had large parties booked already . The staff were excellent throughout our stay and even helped me put up wedding balloons and banner very quickly before bride came. All in all a very pleasant stay, we will definitely be back.

Amazing hotel. I love the Motel feel; parking the car outside your room makes luggage so easy, and being able to access outside space on a private patio area for every ground floor room is just superb, for the smoker this hotel is a must!! The hotel is spotlessly clean—even the car park was hoovered!! The room was ample, beds very comfortable with duevets, and plenty of pillows. All essentials, including a fridge, tea and coffee, hairdryer, telephone and TV. WiFi is free and very good. It is very quiet, the soundproofing from the busy road is impressive, and the breakfasts were very delicious. Buffet style, but plenty of choice, English, continental, all catered for. 7am to 10am and at all times plenty of food choices, how they keep poached eggs soft is amazing!! The Bar is comfortable, and spacious. The restaurant is so comfortable with a wide range of food available, however would recommend the carvery, sooo good. The conference facility was good, comfortable and the buffet lunch, tea coffee and refreshments were excellent. Reception staff very helpful.

You would have to try very hard to find fault at the hotel, a very well-run establishment.

The breakfast was amazing, really good selection on cold as well as hot cooked food. Beautiful restaurant. Free on site parking. Nice shower and clean room. Thank you Sam, as you were really great assisting my husband with the TV as well as the air con. Lovely little touch with the chocolate on the towels on the bed. Great value for money.

The bedside lamp's globe had blown and could not be replaced immediately. The one bedside light is linked to the ceiling lights. The lighting becomes intrusive, when the other person wants to sleep, as the reading light is not separate from the ceiling lights. The bed seemed small.

Very tastefully decorated & maintained. Very clean and easy to park and find - very close to main routes to motorway and into the city or coast. Our room was great the king size bed was great and sky sports went down a treat. The food for breakfast and dinner was good quality and value for money. Most of all the welcome in reception and the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff was excellent, it makes such a difference to your stay.We only stayed one night but would love to return when we can.

Handy location and plenty of parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was great with extensive choice of buffet items. I also had fish and chips in the bar for dinner, which was very nice.

Sleep quality: There were 4 LED floorlights on the steps in my room. They flashed once a minute even when switched off - I'm assuming this isn't by design. This is annoying when trying to get to sleep. I worked around by placing the do-not-disturb signs in front of them. Also, the air-con resets to 25 degrees after it has reached the temperature you want (e.g 23), so it's impossible to keep the room cool without continually manually reseting the temperature.
