Great location Lunch was good

Parking not close The lift was not functioning to our floor and was not fixed throughout our stay - The bedrooms were not cleaned at all although it was offered at around 4PM when we had returned and were having a nap. We were not given access to the roof top bar and the barman was quite rude / blunt about it too saying that you required a booking / it was full although our guests (walk in customers) had arrived 1 minute earlier and were happy sitting at a table. He’d then advised that service would be over 30 minutes wait - Probably best to keep to the facts and more importantly not give outside customers priority over Hotel paying guests - Not cool.

It was a great hotel and the location was perfect but one BIG problem for me it people slamming doors it was non stop I'd only just got there and I knew it was going to be a problem and it was I wouldn't ever stay there again because of people slamming doors all times of the day even people coming in at 4am and slamming doors it gave me a lot of stress and unfortunately I wouldn't stay there again because of it but apart from that it is a great hotel and a great location.

Slamming doors non stop people are just so ignorant they slam the doors non stop and it gave me a lot of stress and I wouldn't stay there again because of it .

This is hands down one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at, great atmosphere and style, every small detail is taken care of and the staff here make your stay very special and memorable. The hotel rooms are stunning and immaculately clean with every detail thought of. I’ve worked in luxury hotels my whole life and the experience we have had here is beyond amazing, the staff are all so friendly, polite and professional and more than happy to help with anything you need. It was my daughter’s birthday and they made us both feel so special and our stay has been magical with so many amazing special touches we have felt really cared for here by the staff and it’s made my daughters birthday so special and memorable! Thank you all so much we will be back for many future trips :)

Nothing we loved it

A beautiful room and stunning hotel. Greeted by very friendly receptionist staff. Great location being right in the city center. Food was amazing, especially dinner which came with the cost of the room price.

We felt rushed by the breakfast staff. We went down for breakfast at 9.45am had to wait 5 mins to be seated. A lady told us we could have anything from the menu then told us when we went to order that the kitchen was stacked with orders and we should load up our plates quickly with the Continental breakfast so we would be fed. We weren't happy with this as we paid for breakfast with our room and felt like we weren't allowed what we wanted. We also overheard her stressing to other members of staff which created a not very pleasant environment for other staff and people staying. We had a cooked breakfast in the end as I asked one of the other waiters and he put it through for us. We would have had to pay to use the spa as a staying guest. I think this should have been included.

The central location of the hotel was excellent and the fact that it has only been completed a short while ago, meant that everything was nigh on perfect...

There was a lot of confusion at reception, regarding fact that I had booked 3 rooms, which took some time to resolve, only then to be told when I checked out (by the same receptionist) that she had undercharged by £2, and I needed to pay it - seemed a bit confusing, considering the time it took to get a resolve on the rooms. Minor issues regarding the hotel bar closing to residents at 11.30pm and the fact there is no parking attached to the hotel!

This hotel has a very central location in Exeter and all the shops and food options are nearby the hotel. I really enjoyed the layout of the room and the size of the(I had a suite). The view was also very nice. On my next trip to Exeter I would certainly stay here again.

The shower is too low if you are over 1.90 so you can't stand straight. Also because of the small size of the shower (the bathroom itself is quite big) it is easy to make the bathroom all wet. I stayed at a suite at the top floor so this might be better at different floors. A suggestion for the hotel would be to email in advance information how to arrive by Tax since the hotel is in the pedestrian area. Both on arrival and departure this wasn't very clear to me and the taxi got lost on the way there. Maybe an email with a PDF instruction would help.

Room 511 corner suite was large, and the main bed was very comfortable. The shower was fabulous. But there was some mould around the bottom corners of the shower tray, and the tile grout in places was yellowing with mould. This could be easily rectified with deep cleaning ..The toilet roll holder was loose. But overall, the room was excellent.

The bed which was put up in the room for my 15 yr old daughter was of poor quality. The springs came loose, and some fell off which resulted in her having an uncomfortable sleep. The Bedding used was of excellent quality. A roll-out bed of better quality should be purchased..

The reception was outstanding, the rooms were clean, comfortable and well presented. The view from the upstairs patio was outstanding. The location was also perfect.

Everything was outstanding except for the top patio bartender. We had plans to meet friends at 7:00 pm at the roof top bar. All he wanted was to discourage us from coming back at 7:00 saying that he will not have time to serve us because of too many reservations. We ignored him and arrived round 6:00, obtained a table and waited for our friends while having local brew. When our friends arrived they went to the bar to purchase a round. He incorrectly poured a double wine and charged it accordingly ignoring our request for a small wine. No credits were received. He is a grumpy, rude and unhappy employee.

The style and decor of the hotel. The location is excellent. The spa was very good too. The rooftop bar over looking the cathedral is also a very unique addition.

The breakfasts weren't as good as the last time we visited. Less options available and a lot of the fruit was not in great condition. It looked like it had been sat out on the side drying out for a long time. Some items had been depleted and not refreshed, despite there seeming to be lots of staff at hand. Still a decent amount of choice, though.
