Wonderful hotel. High standards of cleanliness, service, food. Perfect location right near the beach but slightly raised so having a wonderful view of the sea and coast. Beautiful classic décor, stylish drapes, gorgeous fresh flower displays everywhere, tasteful wallpapers and soft furnishings. Fun evening entertainments on offer for those who wanted them but which weren’t dominating or intrusive for those who didn’t. Fab outdoor pool and spa with jacuzzi, sauna, steam room. We had a massage which was superb and very relaxing. Would go again and stay there at the drop of a hat.

Nice all around. Slightly dated but well maintained. The Spa is nice but a bit small, sauna and steam room are ok, but it’s a bit of walk to the shower located next the pool. The putting green was fun!

Staff is a bit hit and miss. Bar tender wanted to pore the Port in a Whiskey glass, but nice when pointed in the right direction. Breakfast table initial did not have a view while a free table did. The initial request to change was answered by: sorry the table is not set. Upon the waiter came back and fixed it. So to sum up, not a big issue but could be better.

I visited for a couple of days with my son, age 8. This was a return visit due to a previous great experience here. This hotel and location attracts mostly retired clients (my son was the only child there on both occasions - however we went off season) - but it is family friendly and a great place to stay with children due to the facilities being suitable. The newly refurbished Source Spa with indoor pool is fabulous! The pool is available to children all day, unlike most luxury spas which exclude children either entirely or only permit them an hour a day (which is a pain if you want to enjoy a hotel spa but can’t because you have children staying with you). This will no doubt be a major deciding factor that will swing other families to book this hotel over other options of spa hotels who are not so child-friendly. We were made to feel very welcome in the spa, lounge, bar, restaurant, reception and hotel grounds. All the staff were kind, interacting with my son and making him feel he was a valued guest. We loved the putting green out the front, this is a fun way to spend an hour, with those breathtaking views of the Jurassic coast! The grounds are well maintained, beautiful florals which add to the great visual appeal of the hotel. Plenty of boxed games in the reception area to play in the lounge, this is a nice touch for a relaxed evening with a cup of tea or a glass of something stronger. The food is stunning. 5 star quality, attention to detail, well presented, carefully thought out menus in the Jubilee. An absolutely delightful quartet were playing for dinner service, creating a Victorian high end ambience. Lovely breakfast with lots of options and the Dorset cream tea… definitely a highlight! It is easy to see why this hotel is so popular, and attracts repeat clientele. We are a family who run our own hospitality business so providing and receiving top quality hospitality means a lot to us.

Hotel was absolutely stunning. The location was great and the facilities were lovely too. Sadie was an amazing masseuse, and would certainly recommend the massages. The breaksfast was perfect and the staff, nothing was too much trouble.

One thing we didn't do was eat in the hotel's restaurant. We were going to, but when we looked at the menu, we were put off by steak at £50 and Fish and chips at nearly £30. We ended up going to Miller and carter in Exeter which (in our opinion) is one of the best steak houses around for considerably less. We also found the double bed a little on the small size, but it was comfortable.

The spa was gpod although Sauna and steam room were small and the changing rooms were very small. The dining room and bar very spacious. A good breakfast with a good choice of food. Furniture in the hotel was very clean.

No walk-in shower on the first floor available. I thought when I had previously phoned before arrival that we had been allocated a walk-in shower on a low floor as we I am disabled. When we arrived we were given a room on the 3rd floor which when you looked out the window it looked very high up and was unsuitable for my wife who can't cope with heights. We were eventually offered a room on the 1st floor but it did not have a walk-in shower. It was extremely difficult to get into the bath to take a shower.

Wonderful setting with helpful staff and the most amazing lovely outdoor pool. We had good weather which made it very easy to enjoy. We were also lucky that our room was upgraded at no extra cost so we had a sea view. We were not expecting that.

We did not have breakfast at the hotel because it looked a tad formal for us in the dining area, but it is quite a traditional hotel. (We had a great breakfast at Roma which is further along the seafront in the town) ...but I think loads of people do enjoy the breakfast at The Victoria.

Wonderful hotel with amazing staff who really take pride in their work and make you feel comfortable. We stayed for one night and had a lovely clean room with a balcony overlooking the sea front. The spa was lovely and very clean with chilled drinking water supplied. The seafront and gardens are just a short walk from the hotel. We did not dine at the hotel or indulge in breakfast.

Everything was perfect. The price for one night was a higher than we would normally pay for a 1 night stay but worth it for the quality of service and facilities.

On the second day we were moved to a beautiful table which we kept for breakfast each day. We enjoyed dinner every evening in the White Room which was excellent in every way. Aiden gave us a superb table for three of the evenings. Magnificent food.

When the bedroom windows are open they are extremely dirty in the grooves of the windows. Unseen when closed. Not keen on Bingo, the quiz was fun.

Amazing stay throughout... the hotel is very pretty, everyone from the staff we interacted with has been very helpful and nice, room was good, spa and treatment was fantastic, breakfast delicious. Also Sidmouth as a town the location of the hotel are amazing.

Only negative was noise insulation. For some reason we could hear too much people walking in the room above us... the chandelier in the room was making clinking noise when people were walking. Was a bit of a nuisance but not unbearable
