The rooms are on the first floor of a restaurant/Pub. We liked that a lot, because the evenings were always entertaining (like quiz night) and it was always crowded. The food was excellent and the waiter/waitress very friendly. We had a good parking spot in front of the Pub.

I probably didn't pay enough attention to the description of the room. We weren't aware of the small size of the room. Therefore was the bed a little smaller too. We are two tall people. Our room showed to the side of the road and the entrance of the pub. It was a little loud in the evening when everybody headed out of the pub and in the morning when the traffic went through. Next time I will book a larger room which shows to the back.

The Room, was ideal for an overnight stop off clean tidy had everything you needed. The evening meal we had was really lovely & tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful, what made us even more happy is how dog friendly they were, think the dogs took priority over the people :) The Kings arms was always busy with locals and passersby. A typical older friendly pub, that you just don't see anymore in many villages We walked our dog in the little beautiful village and even the locals were chatting with us, made us feel comfortable in a strange area. Would highly recommend a stay here if your looking for a stop off or if your on holiday in the area.

No dislikes at this pub at all.

Continental breakfast was a lovely bonus. On booking the hotel had no superking bedrooms available so we opted for a twin room and were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find that the staff had kindly made the twin beds into a large double for us. The room was on the warm side but again a fan was provided and the windows opened fully to allow for a night breeze which was super.

Our room was over the kitchens so it was bit noisy until these closed down at around 10pm but nothing to hear after this so that was fine.

Stayed in twin room. Very comfortable with great selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room. Continental breakfast good and ate in pub twice. Food very tasty and good quality. Dogs welcome and this was why we chose this destination. Staff all very welcoming.

Had disturbed first night. The intruder alarm went off at 2 in the morning, and the manager from Exeter had to come in to investigate, which meant it was alarming for a significant amount of time. Have not let this factor generally influence my review, but I'm not sure why there is no one more local to sort this quickly. This was why I didn't score 10/10.

Loved the location and hotel. Room was lovely (room 11), although thicker curtains wouldn't go amiss as it was light in there early in the morning which woke us. The staff were lovely and really helpful.

Parking is hit and miss when the pubs open. Breakfast needs better organisation - we weren't told what to do or where anything was, had to ask for plates as they'd run out..... We'd booked dinner for a group of 16 people. Although we'd pre-ordered food there were still mistakes and the service was really slow. And, as above, it gets light really early at this time of year, so thicker curtains would be a bonus.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, it was brilliant that we could have our dog stay in the room with us. The beds were very comfortable and so were the pillows.

It was noisy in the room in the afternoon and early evening as it was a warm day so windows were open and lots of people were outside in the garden, however once the pub was shut obviously it was then quiet. Room was comfortable but could do with a chair in the room to sit on.

It was comfortable with nice furnishings. It was in a good position with free parking. The bed was comfortable and the shower was a good size and worked well. We had everything we needed in the room and in the pub itself and the staff were lovely. We were especially impressed when they put a fresh bottle of water for each of us in the room every day and there were nice biscuits, tea and coffee.

The continental breakfast was ok ( no meats or cheeses) but they ran out of food one morning and we had to ask for more.

The kings Arms is situated in a lovely village close to the sea with lots of nice walks close by.It’s very cosy and welcoming with a good choice of food available .the rooms are very nice ours had a walk in shower . It’s really nice that welcome dogs .we had the continental Breakfast which was lovely with a good choice fruit juices toast etc .

Our Tea and coffee hadn’t been replenished when we arrived having said that we could have asked and they would have replaced them .

During my stay I had a major family problem which meant I had to cancel dinner after ordering it and cut my stay short. The management were so supportive, cheerfully refunded the outstanding balance and even produce with sympathy card. The Kings Arms may not be the poshest hotel in which I have stayed but they have left an impression of outstanding friendliness

The on suit shower had been recently refurbished but the contractors hadn`t finished some of the detailing.

It was a good continental breakfast to set us up for the day. A cooked breakfast would have been nice but at the cost of £10 .99 we thought we would not bother to have it and had an evening meal instead.

The room could have done with having a chair to sit on and the beds had no headboard which meant if you watched the tv on the bed your head was against the wall. It would also have benefited from having blinds as the curtains were not very thick and the sunlight was shining in was quite bright and making the room hot
