Great place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. Great facilities -- tennis, pools (inside and outside), putting green, croquet lawn. Comfortable.

Food is expensive. Decor and furniture in some places a little tired.

We had a spacious ensuite room with a balcony overlooking the lovely gardens and the sea. It was officially a twin room, but staff made the bed up for us as a king-size which we requested. Everything at breakfast was fresh, good quality and well cooked. We had the roast dinner on Sunday which was outstanding and excellent value. Lovely to have both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, plus tennis courts, and putting and croquet lawns. Staff were lovely, smiley and helpful. Great location, quiet and peaceful yet close to the seafront and the town.

Short on sockets for charging phones etc. Shower over the bath was very poor - difficult to adjust the temperature and the flow.

The staff were excellent all round couldn’t do enough for you. The breakfast was reasonable. The evening meal wasn’t as good as it could’ve been. The room itself was very comfortably as for the view the gardens were well maintained and pretty . can’t complain.

Although the place was very comfortable, the staff were very good it was tired. Carpets in our room looked like the hand been clean properly in years. A lot of the things didn’t work like the coffee machine for the breakfast it only did Americano if you didn’t like strong coffee. You’re out of luck the view from our balcony although the gardens were lovely we couldn’t. actually see the sea because the trees were grown too high and cut off most of the views outside of the garden but that all said we would go back again and we are looking to book at some point in the future

The best of the resort were the pools the outdoor pool and the indoor pool. The sauna and jacuzzi also fantastic. The room size and beds are comfortable. Wonderful sea views. Very peaceful to relax.

The resort have seen better days... The old fashioned styled requires a lot of maintenence and money investment. Not enough staff. Not food available at restaurant at least pre book in advance. Insuficient openning bar hours. Very late check in.(16.00 hrs) No staff at reception during the night shift, front door open anyone outsider can get in. The shower in the bath had not enough water pressure and the temperature was too hot or too cold it's was very uncomfortable to take a shower.

The facilities are fantastic. The suites are a really good size with a large bedroom and lounge, a separate reasonably sized kitchen and large bathroom. The balcony is a bonus. The rooms are a little tired and could do with an upgrade but then I probably couldn't afford to stay here! There is an outdoor pool, tennis court, putting green and croquet lawn - all set in the private gardens that lead down to near the beach. Inside the hotel is a snooker table, small gym, indoor pool and sauna. This is the second time I have stayed here and there is something very nostalgic about the place for me.

The staff were amazing especially Michael the waiter .aswell as the facilities too.pool area and garden were beautiful

The room we was in which was 308 was very dated .the carpet was dirty.the bath was a jacuzzi bath which didn’t work and if you filled the bath up about the holes then black mould came out into the bath.the shower pressure was very poor too.cleaners only came in to hoover and change towels and we was there 10 days to me the toilet sink and bath needed cleaning.the breakfast was buffet style plenty of choice but the cooked breakfast was just warm/cold.my mum went to get some bread for toast and it was mouldy!..it’s a shame as the staff are really good and will do anything for you

Considering what I had paid for my room, I was pleasantly surprised to find I had a bedroom with ensuite facilities, a separate lounge with kitchenette and a balcony with views out to sea - incredible value The "Winter warmer" offer for food was also incredibly good value and the price of the breakfast was less than I'd have expected to pay - probably the best value booking I have made in years! Having a hotel with gym and swimming pool was a bonus as it meant I could try to offset some of the extra weight gained at Christmas

The décor was obviously dated, but everywhere was clean and tidy - I could tell that some work was going on whilst I was there and this place offers excellent value

I stayed in a suite which was well equipped and had everything I needed. It was lovely to have a balcony with a great view, so relaxing! You had to pay extra for breakfast. Breakfast was a buffet, with eggs cooked to order. There was good variety in the buffet - it was worth the extra payment. The hotel offers swimming pools, gym, croquet lawn and more. The heated outdoor swimming pool was the only facility I used - it was small but absolutely gorgeous. All the staff I interacted with were kind, helpful, efficient and professional. I felt really safe staying there alone. The only negative thing was slightly low water pressure in the bathroom, but this was really a very minor issue.

To be perfectly honest, nothing. It was a lovely hotel.

I enjoyed my room as it was a whole apartment. It was warm and had all I needed and more for a restful weekend. The location was very good as only about fifteen minutes walk to the town centre and train station. The walk to the beach was a very pleasant stroll through the beautiful well kept gardens and through a private gate. The receptionists were always very helpful and friendly. It was useful to be able to store my main luggage in their left luggage on the Sunday after I checked out to go to the Junior parkrun in Phear Park to volunteer.

My room did not have the prettiest view from the windows. But I guess not everyone can have the seafront apartments /rooms. The view from my windows was of the apartment opposite.

We stayed at this hotel before as a stop over to Cornwall and this time on our way back to Oxford. We always enjoy our stay at Devoncourt, staff are nice and accommodating, garden was lovely and well maintained, apartment was reasonably spacious, tennis court needs an upgrade , outdoor pool is what we enjoy most clean and warm but no shower you have to shower at main building . I would stay at this hotel again .
