Location was perfect for my mid week break, the room was on the small side but was well appointed and comfortable. Plenty of garden space to relax in and for the dog to have a run. Pool and spa were good. Ate once in the tiger inn and food was ok for the money, didn't use the restaurant though. Breakfast was good, a decent selection of options and cooked to order in the main.

Pool is a little shallow for laps at one end and the jacuzzi could have been warmer but I am nit picking as the spa is a massive plus for the hotel. I would say on balance its maybe 15% more expensive that I think its worth both for accommodation and food. Also with a pet you get charged extra twice! £20 room supplement then another £15 for the pet which seems off.

Good breakfast especially for the meat eater. Catered for some of my vegan needs such as oat milk. good selection of vegan and non vegan food for dinner Spa had everything and a good ambience and very clean. Great sized pool Room was spacious comfortable with great views Staff very friendly and attentive Great walking from the door

The door of the next door bedroom banged shut really hard and was a bit of a disturbance. Soft close doors would be good. The walls were thin so you could hear the people in the next door bedroom so some sound proofing would be good. Could have more cooked vegan breakfast options such as avocado on toast and also vegan croissant

Fantastic friendly and helpful stuff. Stunning views into the countryside, quiet and peaceful location, gorgeous terasse to enjoy your afternoon drink. Our dinner was very very good. Breakfast was served in a pleasantly air conditioned conservatory with relaxing music. Once again, food was very tasty and they served the best croissants I have ever had. Swimming pool and spa was a great bonus!

Little dated and I wish there were more family rooms available. If you have one 8 year old child, you can’t have her sleeping in a separate room.

Top notch country house hotel. Beautifully furnished comfortable rooms. Excellent food and exceptional service. Excellent spa with free access to residents. Thick fluffy white towels and robes. Complimentary litre bottle of mineral water in room which was replaced daily.

Absolutely nothing that we disliked about the property only the surrounding roads in the area which were often very narrow single track roads. We found these rather challenging.

The staff were exceptionally efficient, welcoming and helpful. I was given information on the local walks and was helped to order a taxi when I left. The service from all staff was excellent. Food was good quality and the flapjacks in the room were delicious. The spa was also very good. Clean, good sized rooms. This is such a good place to stay if you are interested in walking on Dartmoor.

The staff were really very friendly, helpful & courteous, nothing was too much trouble. The service outstanding. Loved the spa facilities. The food was fabulous, varied tasty menus & all efficiently served. The location is perfect for a Dartmoor stay in this cosy family run hotel. Will look forward to a return visit.

peacefulness of the dining room in the morning overlooking the rolling hills and watching the rabbits play in the yard. And probably the best porridge i ever had :)

They charge for a cappuchino or latte as "extra" for breakfast. was the coffee machine that expensive to purchase?! this kind of penny pinching after what the room costs is off putting.

Everything, the staff were exceptional very friendly and nothing too much trouble! The food was gorgeous and the spa very relaxing which you could use whenever you fancied ! My husband had a massage therapy which he enjoyed very much ! The hotel itself was full of character with three lounges to relax in and a Grandfather clock in the reception area ! Homemade flapjack left in room each morning which gave a welcoming touch. We will definitely be returning! 😊

Regular visitor for my friends and I each spring and summer if I can ! Calm lovely atmosphere , great staff and service , treatments are great as is the spa . Delightful food both in restaurant and Blue Tiger .

Nothing to dislike other than overcooked bacon at breakfast which is a shame as choice is excellent .

The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. The hotel is 4 star, however the staff there are a lot better than some of the 5 star hotels. I would like to specially thank Cameron, with his very professional and warm manner for serving.

It would be a bit better if the spa time can stay a bit later than 9pm (open hour is 7:30 to 21:00), otherwise after dinner, there's not much time to swim or doing spa.
