We liked everything about the Globe . Firstly , Topsham is such a lovely location with artisnal shopping , antique warehouse & multiple options for restaurants/ coffees etc with a lovely estuary walk on the doorstep . The Globe is centrally located within Topsham , parking being available nearby - it’s free from 6p.m until 8a.m and you can use Ringo so very easily managed via your app from anywhere . We only stayed one night in room 2 . This is a charming room with a king size bed , lovely linens & duvet & spotlessly clean . There were some very nice touches such as a Nespresso coffee machine as well as the usual tea bags etc . It was an especially hot night & in the wardrobe was a Dyson Tower fan which was much appreciated . We only stayed one night but would have happily stayed longer , it’s a big room with large wardrobe , a desk to work at / get ready at & the bathroom was spacious . If I was picky I’d have preferred a shower screen to curtain for the shower which was over the bath but that’s only because I always manage to get water every where with a curtain . The shower was great , good power & the water was piping hot . Worth a mention …..the lovely staff , so welcoming & helpful , a real asset to the establishment. Should also mention the food , we had Sunday roast here which was excellent & the breakfast choice was well above standard , great produce & really well cooked . If you are looking to stay in lovely Topsham you’d be hard pressed to find a nicer option , exceptionally good value too . Thanks so much, we will be back x

Nothing , all expectations were exceeded.

The location was fabulous: a lovely village with good walks and nice pubs (also just five minutes away from the station with a great train service to Exmouth, Exeter and Dawlish along the waterfront). The room was spacious with everything you would expect and the bathroom - shower only which we asked for - was great: fresh, clean, super shower. The breakfast was good, especially the cooked choices; more fruit choices would be nice to have with yogurt or cereal, but this is minor. The atmosphere created in the pub is just right making our stay even more relaxing. Car parking is just 5 minutes walk away (Holman Way car parking -use RingGo app) all very easy £5 a day.

The room was comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. The location is superb, and Topsham is small enough to be quiet, but large enough to have facilities. The RSPB sanctuary is great.

During the second night there was a noise coming from the kitchen below, which sounded like an electrical item giving out a small alarm, or a noisy fridge motor. It did not disturb me, but my partner found it difficult to go to sleep with the noise. When the kitchen staff arrived on Sunday morning they must have reset it as the noise was gone when we woke up.

The village of Topsham is very quaint turn left out of hotel and walk down to the quay and then walk down the strand until you reach the river exe causeway passing the Dutch houses and shell house. The hotel had some nice touches on the room like Ellis products in bathroom, quality biscuits with tea making and coffee machine.I like the Wednesday special offer burger and pint £14 and £1 off a pint would have liked a glass of wine added to burger offer for the ladies.Mind you I could have drank 2 pints of St Austel breweries proper job. Will definitely try some of the other groups hotel's in the future.

The rooms need a little touch up to paint work a little job that would enhance the Look at little cost.I No parking on site although I was lucky and parked in main road overnight no restriction 5pm -10am.

The location was well mixed with old and new builds set in a picturesque town. The staff were helpful and the food was exquisite!

Unfortunately a lot more attention/tlc is needed with deep cleaning like behind pillows/ on walls/mantelpieces and improved general maintenance, see in photos. There was flooding, a broken plug attachment and excessive dust in room 9..and black mould in places where moisture collects in the skylight and shower in room 18. We were grateful for a room change made by staff of The globe and understand that buildings of this age need that extra care, we hope the cleaners can do this justice in the future.

We traveled with our teenage daughters. We all really liked the Globe. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The food was good, the dinner menu exceeded our expectations and the breakfasts were excellent too. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Location was great for our visit to the University, Dartmoor, and the coast. Topsham is a lovely place too. (from communication prior to our visit we were aware of the parking down the road, only a short walk, and that it is a lively pub)

We stayed in the 2 bed apartment Nice two bedrooms and separate dining and kitchen on first floor then a lounge/TV room on second floor witn river glimpses

No parking. A real disappointment for somehwere that has 25 rooms but parking is bad all over the South West. There is free 1 hr street parking on a narrow road outside or paid parking about 2 minutes walk beside the Lighter Pub Stairs are very steep to get to first level and even steeper to the upstairs lounge. No good for elderly or those with a disability. Unit is above a dining area and right next to access to kitchen. Can be noisy until everything tidied away. No early nights!! Access door needs to be a sound proof door

The setting was great. I did arrive late so could not completely take in the surroundings. Staff were very engaging & helpful & it was pleasantly busy & had a good atmosphere when I arrived. The room was of a very good quality & nicely furnished.

Parking I heard was an issue. It did say before booking that parking was available. This is misleading as I searched for quite a while trying to find a safe space. In the end I opted for the public car park 5 mins away. Hotel should be honest & route customers to this car park, then, like me, be happier knowing it is close by..

The room was spacious and very comfortable, particularly the bed. The breakfast was good; most of all, the bar area was excellent, with a lovely warm fireplace during the day and a nice ambience in the evening.

There is not a great deal that could have been better ... perhaps the breakfast was not as good on day 2 as it had been on day 1. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled egg instead of the Full English and I'm thinking I should have stayed with the latter. The scrambled egg was a bit too runny for my liking!

We visit Topsham frequently and have stayed at The Globe over many years. We enjoy the character of the original rooms over the bar area and have always been able to reserved and received the room of our choice; each one is different and unique. The Globe is a typical old English Pub. It is hundreds of years old. Nothing is level, straight, rightangled, or built to modern code. You either love it or hate it. If it is not 'your cup of tea', they have more modern, traditional, rooms attached to the pub.

Nothing!
