Genuinely best stay I’ve had! From the moment I arrived, Kim was there to welcome me warmly, providing fresh milk! In the room slippers, a bathrobe, and every toiletry you could possibly need was available. Not a thing I needed was not found! Although I hadn’t yet met Trevor, he greeted me by name the moment I entered the breakfast room, which was such a lovely personal touch. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. When I was leaving, Trevor made a point of telling Kim, who came to see me off. Kim recognised the heat of the day and my upcoming journey, kindly offering me water to take with me – such thoughtful hospitality. The location was perfect for my needs, with free parking available and just a pleasant 15-minute walk to the main bar area. My only small note would be that if you’re over 6ft, you might want to request a room that isn’t on the top floor, as some ceiling areas are lower. At 5'11", I managed just fine. And I have to give huge praise for the bed – the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in while away. I was out like a light! I will be back!

Nothing. As mentioned above it might be good to mention to floor height restrictions in case a tall guest. I personally like to be top floor to avoid noise.

The location was quiet and the room was comfortable. The owners are very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was very nice. There was also plenty of parking. Everything in the hotel was immaculately kept and tidy, with everything in its place. The location is very convenient for the railway station.

There is not much to say as it is a lovely place to stay. The location is a bit out of the main town (which also has the advantage of being quiet) but it is only a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk along the sea front to get to the very centre where the harbour is.

What a Gem! Hosts met us on arrival, friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate. The bed was so comfy. Mini fridge with bottles of water & Kim's homemade scones, clotted cream & jam. Lots of beverage sachets & a box of chocolates. Breakfast gave you a variety of choices along with cereals, fruit, and yogurts. We had a bowl of fresh fruit to start, and my husband had the Full English, which he was extremely happy with,they even had black pudding. I had the cheese & mushroom. Omelette, the best I have ever had. Honestly, I can't fault Elmdene. I would go back to Torquay, but only if I could stay here.

Electric charge point would be good. I cannot think of anything I didn't like.

We stayed at Elmdene in August 2024 and were thoroughly impressed. The property was spotlessly clean, and hosts Trevor and Kim made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious and had everything we could possibly need, including a well-stocked tea and coffee station, chilled water, and snacks. The ensuite bathroom was immaculate, and the luxurious toiletries, high-end towels, and plush bathrobes were a lovely touch. The super comfy king-size bed ensured a great night's sleep, and after staying in several places on our two-week tour, Elmdene undoubtedly offered the best breakfast of the trip. Trevor and Kim's breakfast was exceptional, served with a pot of coffee that was actually hot — a small but very appreciated detail! The property also offers onsite parking, and it's within easy walking distance of the seafront and central Torquay, making it a perfect base for exploring the Torbay area. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Elmdene!

We had a fantastic stay at The Elmdene in Torquay. Kim and Trevor welcomed us like family, and their genuine warmth and attention to detail made the experience special. The room was spotless, spacious. Breakfast was outstanding—fresh, delicious, and a perfect start to each day. The peaceful location is great for exploring Torquay while still offering a quiet retreat. Kim and Trevor go above and beyond—I can’t recommend The Elmdene enough!

Even before we arrived I knew this would be a lovely place, Trevor and Kim were very proactive, called me to confirm we were coming and said our room was ready at any time that day. Greeted at the door by name is a lovely touch, the room was spotlessly clean very spacious with a really comfortable bed drinks tray with chocolates as well, in room fridge for fresh milk supplied as well. Perfect location being just far enough away from the hussle and bussle but an easy short walk to the beach or town. The breakfast is indeed worth the awards they have been given, a wonderful range of options rarely seen in anything less than a 5 star hotel If we return to Torquay for another stay then Elmdene will be out first call

Having to go home!

We stayed on the 26/08 for four nights and could not fault anything about our stay. The room was superb and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it and lots of choice. Kim and Trevor are superb hosts and we will definitely be booking again. Only about a 10 minute walk to town and close to sea front and within walking distance to Cockington well worth a visit. Definitely deserves the 5 stars ⭐️ that they have.

A wonderful place to stay a short walk from the seafront and the train station. We were visiting for Electric Bay festival, and this was a perfect location. The room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. The breakfast was really delicious, and the owners were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here.

This place is the most immaculate B&B we have ever stayed at in 37 years of traveling. The hosts Kim & Trevor could not be any more welcoming. There is nothing you will need that is not already provided. If you are in Torquay this is the best place to stay. We will most definitely be back.

Only staying one night. We didn't want to go home.
