Well what can I say found this beautiful bed and breakfast run by mike and debs.it was lovely and clean the rooms are beautiful the breakfast was gorgeous every morning.debs who actually runs it in the week is a fantastic host very welcoming.nothing is to much trouble it was like going from home to home.deb gives you all the information you need to get to certain places very knowledgeable she had her granddaughter staying with her Elsie what a little star she was beautiful.they also have a beautiful little garden where you can chill out on an evening after a long day exploring thankyou both for a fantastic stay and we would definitely go back

There was nothing to not like great place to stay fantastic hosts great location to everywhere.regular bus service at your doorstep.five minutes walk to shops.

Very welcoming hosts, felt like we'd known them for years. What a light airy well invested in family room...can see they've gone to a lot of effort to make sure we were comfortable. My partner being 6ft5 was very happy for a huge bed he could comfortably sleep in. Our 6 year old also loved the choice of bunk bed options. Full breakfast options every day. Enough to fulfil anyone's needs.

The only thing I'd say is this wouldn't be great for anyone with mobility issues. The carpark is small and you do have to venture up some very steep steps (vertigo sufferer) but that's beyond the owners control. You do have an option to park out front if you're lucky enough to get a space on the off road parking.

Our stay at Acorn Lodge was absolutely lovely. We have stayed at several different hotels in Torquay and this was one of the best. Debs the host was so lovely. She was friendly and went above and beyond to assist us. The breakfast was fantastic, with lots of choice, hot and cold. The location was perfect for us as it was close to the town and not too far from my sister’s home too. We were upgraded free of charge by Debs to a beautiful room with plenty of space. The room was cleaned daily. The bed and pillows were comfortable, which is important. Huge TV with apps. It was a fantastic stay. I would highly recommend.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

This is the most charming and family friendly property we have ever stayed in. Debs, the owner has created an environment where you feel like you are at home. The surroundings are immaculate and clean. It is very well decorated with lovely framed pictures. There are shelves of books and family games which we took advantage of, playing chess, dominoes and Downfall which the kids loved. The room we stayed in was really spacious and allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves without feeling cramped. Debs serves a homemade breakfast when you go to the dining room making it all the more homely. We didn’t use public transport but everything was pretty much an 8 minute drive away so very well located. Would definitely stay here again and it felt great to support a local business. It was perfect!

We had a family room and it was beautiful: gorgeously decorated, enough space for us all to move around and relax. It was clean, comfortable and a had a wonderfully huge window with a lovely view. Breakfast was consistently delicious, and there is an outside seating area which we also enjoyed. Ample books and games are provided to entertain the children and there is a 'mini bar' in the lobby for extra treats at a reasonable price. Wonderful owners make this place the fabulous retreat that it is with their efforts to make it lovely obvious in all the details and their kindness.

Honestly it was really wonderful. If I'm being picky, a jug of drinking water at breakfast would have been good and I'm sure it would have been provided if we'd asked, and a bed guard for our toddler would have been helpful but we were given a travel cot so it really wasn't a problem. We were extremely comfortable and happy here I would definitely recommend Acorn Lodge.

Debs and Mike gave us the warmest welcome, they explained everything to us and put us at ease straight away. Lovely, friendly and humorous people who couldn’t do enough for us. The room was clean and comfortable and the balcony was perfect. Lovely touch having a snack facility and honesty box. Breakfast was pre ordered and exceptional each day! Compliments to the chef! Great location, just a short walk to the seafront. Parking was plentiful and really easy. Would not hesitate to recommend, will definitely return. Michelle and Lee xx

we stayed for 5 nights in one of debs double rooms, we couldn’t have been happier with our experience, debs made us feel so welcome and comfortable. the room was very clean and up to date with a fridge to store our food and drink. the breakfast was unreal and a ‘help yourself’ station with cereal and toast as well as the prepared breakfast requested, couldnt have been happier and weve already re-booked!!!

The hostess Debs was friendly and accommodating in requesting additional requests. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend the lodge to family/friends alike. We would both consider returning at some point in the future.

The location wasn't ideal - especially for anyone with mobility issues, as it required an approximate 20-minute walk to the main facilities in Torquay. Other than that, there is nothing negative to report.

The room and the property was exceptionally clean, not a spot of dust or dirt in sight! The location was great, parking was not limited. Everything was outstanding! Debs is an amazing host, beautiful breakfast! The service provided was outstanding! We have never had service like this before, we would definitely return.
