Our hosts made us very welcome. The cups of tea after a long journey, was a nice touch, very welcome and gave us a chance to chat to Ian, the owner. My wife needed a room on the ground floor and we were grateful and surprised to get an instant upgrade!!. Ian couldn't do enough for us. Cold water and fresh milk for tea, along with tea and coffee in the room. The rooms are large with en suite bathroom. The breakfast is varied, with daily specials, unheard of on our travels around Europe and here at home. I thought honesty bars were a thing of the past, however, the restaurant/lounge area had a good selection of drinks to choose from on this basis. . We will be back in September, and would recommend this gem on the South of England riviera.

A 11/10 experience! Even before talking about the BnB, I would like to write about Janette & Ian. I haven't seen better hosts than them, in recent times. I reached early - they opened the room for me, at 10:30 am. My train next day was at 7pm, they allowed me to use the room, till as long as I wanted!! Yes, the season hasn’t picked up, so there was no rush in general, BUT WHO DOES THIS!! It’s as if I stayed for 2 days, and paid for 1 :)... Next, I haven’t eaten a beautiful and fulfilling English Breakfast in recent times, man I loved it... I can keep on writing 100 more words ... but in summary, if you are planning to visit Torquay, please please stay here... great accommodation, lovely facilities, and BEST HOST, here's to Janette and Ian, once again

What a great stay we had, perfect small hotel with large bedrooms excellent beds and lovely linen slept like a log. Ian and Jan were perfect hosts you won't get better, thank you for being so welcoming to us during our stay. The excellent breakfasts were something to get up for. Ian and Jan are trying out offering evening meals I hope this works out as the meals were as good "no" they were better than any of the local restaurants. I look forward to our next trip to Devon where hopefully we can get booked into the Glendower Hotel " see you soon". Nearly forgot Ian was a scooter boy back in the day and has his Lambretta TV 175 in the hotel entrance.

We loved this visit. The hosts were superb, going out of their way to make us as welcome as possible. They loaned our three year old some toys, moved our rooms without any fuss, made up a special bed for our little one and were just generally lovely. The rooms were great, really comfortable beds and all the amenities you could want, with plenty of coffee, tea, biscuits, sweets etc. The breakfast was also superb, with a delicious fry up available to order, as well as plenty of cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurt etc. At any price this would have been a lovely stay. For £72, it was absolutely superb.

The owners were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful, giving lots of helpful information about the area. The room was large, well-furnished and immaculate. The stand out feature has to be the breakfast; lots of choice, whether continental or cooked, and all beautifully presented. The breakfast tea, loose-leaf and in a clever self-straining pot, was without a doubt the best tea I have ever had in a hotel. The restaurant decor was characterful and cosy. It really is a lovely place to stay.

Having to go home after just one night's stay!!

Beautiful room. Comfy huge bed, beautifully decorated, well stocked with quality teabags, toilet roll etc, not cheap brands. Breakfast was proper fresh fruit salad, not filled with apple to boost it. Nothing is too much for Janette and Ian. My stay was due to family illness and they couldn't have been more caring and warmhearted if I were a member of their family. From observing other guests interactions I would say this is normal. A lovely place to stay. 100% recommended.

What a lovely welcoming place. Janette and Ian went above and beyond to make our stay even better. As I suffer with arthritis janette moved us to a low floor room. The room was very hot as we was lucky to stay when the weather was very warm but Ian went and got us a fan for the room which was a god send. 👍🏻. Breakfast was plentiful. Everything you want and need. From fruit , cereal and of course the fantastic full English. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast room was lovely and large so plenty of space between tables. Room was very spacious and bed was large and very comfortable. Shower was lovely and powerful and easy to use. Also they have an honesty bar in the breakfast room which is nice if you fancy a cold beer. Cannot fault the Glendower. Absolutely fantastic stay. Will definitely book again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Glendower B&B in Torquay, Devon, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The owners are incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring every guest feels comfortable and well taken care of.

The rooms are spotlessly clean and well-maintained, providing a cozy and relaxing environment to unwind after a day of exploring. The location is absolutely perfect, with easy access to all the local attractions and the beautiful Torquay coastline. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. Served in a beautifully elegant dining room, it was a delightful way to start the day. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of options that were both hearty and freshly prepared. The care and attention to detail were evident in every bite, making breakfast at Glendower a truly special moment.

Even though we turned up earlier than expected, we were welcomed with a very friendly greeting. The room was lovely, spotless, and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was amazing, so much choice in lovely dining room. We only stopped for one night, but if we are visiting Torquay again, then we'll definitely be booking again. The standard is more a high standard hotel than a guest house. We stayed in Room 4 which was a very big double bedroom with a good size ensuite on the ground floor which was perfect as my partner has just had a knee replacement. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming. The breakfast choice was first class and in a really lovely dining room. There was ample parking (unlike other guest houses which say parking but then only have maybe 1 or 2 spaces available). We have stayed in quite a few guest houses in Torquay but this is by far the best and we will definitely be returning.
